    Thanks for this information . Unfortunately, not happy about not being able to return to the previous version on my iPad. Was pretty much forced to take this update and now since I have the ASIAir Plus disconnects from my iPad. Sometimes multiple times in the middle of shooting. According to ZWO they say they don't force upgrades to your ASIAir Plus. I have turned off App Updates in the settings on the iPad.

      they don't force updates ever - they can't - the app stores have very strict rules around what apps can and cannot do and the apps are rigerously checked by them each release - Ipads cannot easy rollback - thats due to the Apple not ZWO and the way Apple implement their app stores... if the app updates are turned off after a n update is released then you'll have to follow through on it ... that time ... after theres you won't trigger an update

    Hi, I have an asiair plus with a recent patch. However, I would like to sell it since I don’t use it anymore.
    Do you know how to clean it to avoid personal info or reset to factory but leave the OS version as it is now?

    Hi Simon , thankyou for another informative presentation. I assume if I wanted to roll back versions and use an Ipad that I could download the Andriod version onto an Andriod device then roll back and upgrade to a version of choice then reconnect my Ipad .
    Would that be a way of rolling back that should be successful ?

      the issue would be what version is in the Apple store or Testflite really - Android you can install older versions of the app ... but the Apple system prevents you from side loadig and only installing whats in the Apple store ... I don't think we have a way round the Apple issue yet of providing older versions

    I got the last beta version on my android, because I heard about the bugs in the last update. I am busy with a 6 panel mosaic of the orion, but don't have enough lights. So I want to continue in next winter so i save it in my plan mode. But what if I restore the app or reset firmware, will I lose everything in my plan mode??

    How can I reactivate after changing the Pi4 board? My serial has changed. Cant seem to figure it out. Nothing works.

    If you reset the firmware on an ASIAir Plus, do your settings get reset as well? I assume so, but I’m curious.

    Hi Simon, thanks for your very informative videos. I was wondering if you have knowledge of a wifi problem with ASI air pro after updating to 2.1.1? I updated during the week and went out last night for the first clear opportunity in North Canterbury for what seems like ages only to have huge connection issues. I use a modem outside which I connect the air to through station mode and this has worked really well and consistently for a long time, last night it wouldn’t work at all. I tried connecting to the air’s own wifi first but I kept getting one of two messages,either it is not possible to join ASIAIR or the password for ASIAIR is incorrect. In the end I couldn’t take one image and couldn’t even use the EAF to take the focused to home position. All very frustrating, do you think I am drawing false conclusions? The ASIAIR is a fabulous piece of kit but the wifi in the Pro must surely be a huge embarrassment to ZWO. I have their wifi extender too but gave up on that due to it’s unreliability. Your comments would be most welcome. Thank you.

      Yes we are looking at a few reports .. I would restore the ASIAIR to factory and then reinstall the update .. if you are on android you can also roll back if thats still not helping - but the team are looking at some of the reports back .. do try that you can use the video on here about restoring your ASIAIR too

      As another thought I had to download a version of the os for the ASIAIR to allow me to use the usb port on my EQR6 Pro, is this now included in the latest updates or still a separate download? Thanks Simon.

      @@petecarpenter1068 if you wipe the SD card then you'd need to use the version that suits your EQ6R USB drivers ... then reinstall the update from the play store

    I am a little late to this party but here goes. I am upgrading to a Plus from a Pro and want to pass on the Pro to somebody. Do I need to do a reset like this? Is there any personal date I need to clear from the Pro before I pass it on?

      I'd clear anything like station mode settings etc just to make sure that does't match and maybe set a new device ID if you changed it to a personal one

    Unfortunately its not true. Of course the update is enforced. If I start the ASIAIR app, I get an update enforcement window 9.97 -> 10.74 with no button to bypass. The update fails (new ASIAIR plus 256 out of the box), this bricks for me the whole thing. No chance to reset or get out. I tried around 50 time on WIFI and direct LAN connection and with 3 differnet iOS devices.

      no update is applied if you have turned off auto updates in the mobile device ... it just cannot. In this case if you have a new device, the app store software version would be later than the firmware on the device so indeed it would attempt to update it on its first run .. the only way round that would be to find the matching app version and in IOS this is not possible due to Apples limitations on where you can install software from. Turn on airplane mode then turn on Wifi only and connect to the ASIAIR that way - there is an odd bug in Apple devices if mobile data and WifI is on ... if you still have issues you can use the support line or contact your vendor if withnin 30days .. once you have it connected and working do make sure app auto update are off for ASIAIR in the Apple app store.

    I tried an iPad .. reset then it forced upgrade .. ZTE Axon android .. reset it then forced upgrade .. would not let me proceed unless I upgraded .. guess it does not work on all ..

      if you have the Ipad it will force an upgrade as 2.1 is the production release .. but if you download an older APK from the pureapk site and install that on the android and did a restore will def roll back
