What's great about these kind of videos is seeing other toys featured on card backs that I actually had!
Oh yeaah, did you keep a cardback as a kid and checked which ones you had and with ones you were missing?
i probably did! For sure with GIJoe, and maybe starriors.@@EdsRetroGeekOut
I Bought that Robin Hood Sherwood Forest for my Star Wars figures lol. i actually got a few of them and linked them together with the original Endor Playset. it works so well since Sherwood Forest IS the Ewok's playset, except Sherwood Forest actually has LEAFY TREES!
I could listen to Ed all day. Such a interesting topic. Great job!
To close the loop, the US Agent/Living Laser became the armored Prof X, if you want to bust out the paint and start customizing
I'm pretty positive US Agent made it to KB Toys. Cause I always remember just how kind of bland in design it was compared to the 1994 figure.
@@EdsRetroGeekOutHe's on Bigbadtoystore for $10 right now. Toy Biz cancelled the figure. The factory made them without Toy Biz's permission and sold them in bulk. I got one in December.
Always happy to see your unproduced toy videos!!
Ed's doing another unproduced toys video? I'm here for it. I hope you never run out of content for these videos.
These videos are always a fun blast for the ‘what could’ve been’ past! Cheers Ed!!
You're truly Awesome Ed! Thanks for more History of Vintage Toys! Love the Video! Thanks once again for Sharing! 😎😎😎👍👍
TOY HISTORY! I live for these
Man, all these toys would've been so wonderful if they were released, such a loss
Dude; your videos are the best! Let’s Go!!!
I’ve been doing good my man! Happy New Year to you too! Are you visiting Dallas again this year?
Toxic Crusaders were one of those toy lines I wish I would've taken more care of, all I have left is the 🔫 from a Radiation Ranger 😩 I'm totally glad they're remaking them tho!
Super 7 is making some Toxic Crusaders figures. They look really sweet!
Some day I’m going to be kitbashing recreations of the never-released Wonder Woman and the Star Riders line that was going to use retooled She-Ra horses and accessories! The mini doll molds ended up repurposed for several Mattel lines and seems like it would be a great candidate for custom recreation
Another great and insightful video in this series. Love these Toy History vids
Zen the Intergalactic Ninja had at least one character and a couple vehicles that were unreleased.
Ooh I have a couple of those figures, very colorful and a fun nes game as well! I’ll have to look into that, thank you 🤓
Being unproduced once could happen to any toy
Being unproduced, re used for a different toyline and then unproduced again, now you are just trying to go for a high score
Theres a fully compleated Game Boy Home alone game that was unsold, then reskined for NES Nintendo on the cartoon Bobbys World that was also unsold. Very weird game with things like the Wet Bandits Begin Robots and aliens in.
Hello Ed! Happy 2024 and I'm looking forward to watching this episode. My best to you from Vermont.👍🙏🤓🎮🕹
I actually have that cancelled Living Laser; Jesse Falcon gave my brother and I one of the production samples after a San Diego Comic-Con!
That King Richard is ace. I'm still a bit guttted that N2 toys went out of business before putting their Fifth Element figures into production. If any 90s film was crying out for full action figure line, it was that one
Odd how they didn’t release those indeed, but that movie probably had a later collector focused line right?
There were some funk reaction figures and and a few others here and there@@EdsRetroGeekOut But I don't think their was a definitive, proper action figure line ( I may be wrong). I think N2 were set to release their line but the company went out of business before they could. There are a few prototype pictures online.
heck yeah, can't wait to watch, these are always the absolute best! Thanks as always for taking the time to put these together, always the highlight of my day!
Watching you hunt is fun and all but these videos are the best, keep them coming!!
If they continue to make the figures that did not make it in the previous lines, you might have to make a “Finally Got-‘Em” version of Toy History.
Might also consider a “remake” or “rerelease” feature on the Kenner and Playmates TRGB & TMNT that seem to pop up now.
Men in tights toys now there's a missed opportunity i would be al over those ❤great video i always feel so educated after watching toy history❤
Awesome channel mate love the history of toys fantastic and happy new year
Polluto is one of my favorite releases of 2023 from Ishmael. I’m hoping the unproduced TMNT Mega Mutants can receive the same treatment someday.
I never had the mega mutants as a kid but was able to collect them recently. Even got the new one from the lastest movie who pairs well.
Bulette was a monster from the original days of the D&D game. Early art pretty much looked just like the toy.
Epic 🙌 I know most of those monsters from the og books made it into cool statues as well, the behir is on some of the newer books
Bulette still gets used. It's in the current 5th ed monster manual. And I have seen some recent miniatures that have been made. Deep dive: This was one of a handful of monsters that had designs based on some cheap plastic dinosaur and monster toys that came in a bag. The rust monster was another one. There weren't fantasy gaming miniatures. So Gygax and Arneson would use what they could find and make up names and stats for them. Here and there, you can still find the same plastic figures made from the same molds.
@looselycollected7505 that’s pretty cool how it circled around then 🤓
They was from Dinosaur toy bags so the Bulette and Rust monster was not Dinosaurs just Generic nameless monster to go with Godzilla and toys Ultraman to fight. If you grew up in the 70 to early 2000's you probally had some toys that was based on Japanese Media just you had no context what they was from. For cheap toys you would get in a capsule that had the copyrights removed but no other changes this was really common. @@looselycollected7505
Making a custom set of 11 Kenner Robin Hood figures based on the unreleased wave. Will share with you on IG
I saw an repaint of u.s agent at a retro toy store, well somebody paint it 😊😊
The possibilities are countless with toy biz 😁 always fun to see some with custom paint jobs. You collect toy biz?
As a street sharks collector, I am disappointed they never released the Space force Slammu or the Night Fighters Slammu. I believe prototypes were shown in some toy fair magazines. But the even bigger want from is the killamari hand puppet! That thing would’ve been sweet.
There’s also a giant slammu proto floating around, love that hand puppet too. & would have loved clammando or el swordo to have gotten a release. I know a couple of customizers who are working on those
Those also would have been awesome editions.
Did you pick up a polluto for your collection ? I recently completed the toxic crusaders line for relatively cheap and was thinking he’d be a cool addition.
Non natives saying “Nottingham” is always fun. In this side of the pond we say “NottingM”
GREAT VIDEO ED....Don't be fooled about TOY BIZ so called snap on piece's...many did not fit or fell off oh soooo easy..
😜 they knew how to sell it I can imagine it was a miracle if it stayed on
I'm glad Toixc Crusaders is getting its dues now. Love them.
Can’t wait for trick or treat to get those unproduced ones in plastic 😁👌
That us agent mold was also used for a prof x figure. Red translucent plastic. Same exact figure just a different head.
Whan I saw some of those unreleased figures here in Brazil on the figures packs, I tought they existed but simply weren't released here, LOL!
I have a case of copies of the 1986 matchbox dealer catalog. This catalog has Voltron and the entire line of Robotech including unreleased stuff
Dark egis did get a very special release as a contest prize in an early issue of ToyFare magazine. Heck, way back when it was my AOL screen name because I liked how it sounded.
I remember that Three Tots treehouse! One of my babysitters had it when I was VERY young, but until today I never knew what it was from! I'd have loved a Star Wars version!
When Playmates did the Dick Tracey line, they made a series of clip-on magnets for a few characters. On the back of the card, they show one of Breathless Mahoney, aka Madonna that was never released for some reason?
Yes! They had shipped some out but then recalled them as they would spoil the movie. That memo didn’t reach some stores in Canada who did put em out and that’s how they got into the market.
@@EdsRetroGeekOut Interesting! I’m in Canada, but I’ve never come across one, or seen it online. I have all the other ones, so I’d like to track that last one down someday 🙌
I had a few of the robin hoods. I also remember the kenner swamp thing line .
Good old sheriff of Nottingham,I literally live were robin hood lived in Nottingham 😂
😏 now don’t you go hunting those wild boars without the sherriff’s approval!
What's crazy is that toy biz was making so much on selling toys that they eventually bought marvel when they filed for bankruptcy
I saw US agent in the USA. Didn't realize it was him since it didn't look anything like the comic version. Found it at a Toy's R Us in NJ.
Still tragic we never got the 2nd series of Visionaries. The unreleased figures looked great
Hey, not sure if you will see this but I've been binge watching your unproduced toy history. If you could have 5 of the figures from your series what would they be?
There was going to be a Dark Aegis figure?! Holy crap!
I dunno much about the character, but the design for Dark Aegis looks rather cool.
I had a unproduced brave and the bold flash but sold it a few years ago. And no it wasn’t the target version as it still had the hex holes
Yeah I used to have a Robin Hood figure and when you took of the jacket you can see he's made from a super powers Green Arrow but that's the only one I had.
From my collection that bugged me the most for it getting canceled before all of them released was the 90s cartoon Addams family line. Why in the name of Playmates did they prioritize the grandma over Wednesday???
Didn't they have a 2nd toyline for Bucky O'Hare that never materialize?
Also the Dread Commander and Dread Trooper canceled figures for Captain Power toyline
Indeed the bucky o hare one’s I have featured in episode 37.
The captain power one’s i’ll have to look into, i know a couple were only released in europe
I owned US Agent. I bought it 3 for $10 at a Toy Liquidators. If it was a bootleg, it was well made.
They later used the Robin Hood Boltthrower in there Troll line too
Yeah but as a child you dont know it, and it was in difftent colors XD and now there is more to collect for you guys ^^
@@EdsRetroGeekOut
But, was the Techno Wars Spider-Man at 4:33 foreshadowing the union between Spidey and Iron Man on the MCU?
KB did get a lot of the later wave "garbage" peg warmer figures and vehicles.
i used watch thundercats back in the 80's. but i never cared for the toy line. i was more into transformers.
does 10:52 come from the "Art of Dungeons and Dragons book?
Perhaps it’s in there but these are from the toy fair dealer catalogs 🤓
THere are many US agents made and for sale in Asia. A warehouse toy sale last month in Singapore had many cash FRESH BRAND NEW CARDED MINT Condition US Agents pieces going for around $11 USD a piece.
Love your Toy history been watching them and your regular videos since 2019 after watching one of Laura legends videos your videos came up in the tube algorithm and been watching them ever since. Definitely a good way start out 2024 and can't wait to see more of your videos.
Also, anyone out there know why Lara legends quit making TH-cam videos (I know she had a health scare and was hoping maybe someone could reach out to her and see if she is ok)??? Would ask if the same thing happened to you also as a concerned subscriber.
She’s been posting a bit on her insta but not a lot of videos are coming out. I think the kind of surgery she had has a long recovery period. I hope she’s doing well and that she’ll be making vids again 🤓
@@EdsRetroGeekOut
Thanks Ed again keep the videos cracking out this year because I will definitely be watching them and especially can't wait for attic invaders reunion.
I apologize if I sound silly but what does kidbashed mean?
Kitbashed is when a toy (or model or whatever) is made of pieces from other toys
@TitularHeroine That is what I thought . Thank you for making it clear. I really appreciate it and feel silly now, lol
@@robertguarino355 You're welcome and no worries! Ed's right too -- at some point I heard that and was like, "that's a cool word!"
My brother -- in his forties -- asked me the same thing just a month ago when I was making some customs
Creo que te faltan las ediciones exclusivas de Canada 🇨🇦 de los xmen /
I love all of your content, but toy history is easily my favorite.
Thank you sir
