There's one thing I've learned as I've gotten older, we may have to bend a little to society when out in public, but, when you're on your property and in your home, you only have to please yourself and your family that lives with you. Nobody else's opinions really matter in the least. And you having a channel that allows the public to watch your channel does not mean it's okay to insult and be mean. So you decorate how you like and how it makes you happy. I have three windows above my sink and counter that have blinds. It really looks good. Yours would also. Do you have one of those table clip on highchairs? Maybe he would be happy in one of those since he would be sitting at the table with all of you? Hope you have a great rest of the week.

We had real wood floors, they were so pretty. Sadly, we had an unknown water leak behind our bathroom wall that went all the way underneath them. They were too expensive to replace because you know how insurance companies love to give you money to fix what was damaged lol. The curtains are a game changer, they're fun and bring life to that wall. I'm with you on blackout curtains, living in Texas the heat is to much and they do make so much difference. Everything turned out so cute for spring decorating 😍 ☺️ 🐰🐇

I have an insane amount of Christmas village houses and have recently started collecting Halloween and Easter ones. My parents had a small Christmas village and I always think of them whenever I put mine out. It sucks that because you share your life on the internet people think it’s okay to comment ugly things. Although I don’t collect Rae Dunn, I enjoy seeing what you come up with every season. If it makes you happy, it doesn’t matter if it’s in style.

You live in your house.😁We just got Kolton the Chicco quick seat that clips on the table. It helped out a TON with meal time. Maybe that could be a transition highchair for him❤

It’s like Christmas trees - there is nothing wrong with traditions - keeping/using ornaments from your actual life is so sentimental-especially when you have children!!! Have you looked into having a blind made for the kitchen window, have a look online for new curtain rings you may need bigger that what you have to cover the curtain hole. What has happened is the hole has been cut slightly bigger than the ring, its an easy fix. You could also buy blackout lining to attach to the curtains you have put up.
I have ordered blackout fabric for the new curtins. I have looked for custom made giant blind but they don't have any in the style I have in the home already. I didn't want vertical blinds.

Used to love going with you as you hunted for additions to your collection. If you enjoy it, use it! I love your big kitchen window. Could you use an exterior window awning to help with the sun? An exterior awning may also help with the deck and sliding doors sun. Love, love, love the floral curtains. Makes the room so cheerful and cozy. Malcolm was so cute with the vacuum... until he found the light switch. That was a fun game 😆 Thanks for the motivation, especially that little green machine.
That is a good idea actually. We are planning a shade for the AC units that sit under those windows outside. They get hit with direct sun all day long too.

If the black out curtains you have but are wearing out are the same size as your flowered curtains, could you use them as a liner behind the flowered ones? It worn out grommets would be hidden on the rod and you could still have the sun blocking for no extra money. I really like the floral.

Jessie I don’t know anyone who can afford to change everything in their homes to follow the trends. Even if I could who has the time or energy?! 🙄 I just like to bring in a couple new things here & there and donate when I’m in the mood. Just do what you love in your home.
Same for me. I have a lot to donate. It becomes overwhelming to keep storing it. I want to clean out the office upstairs to move Malcolm up there at some point

If the black out curtains you have but are wearing out are the same size as your flowered curtains, could you use them as a liner behind the flowered ones? It worn out grommets would be hidden on the rod and you could still have the sun blocking for no extra money. I really like the floral.
I was thinking of cutting out the blackout portion and lining the floral ones!

I really like the pop of color with all those colored mugs. Also, I couldn’t care less what other people think, this is my house not yours. I really dislike those articles or videos, “10 things that are old-fashioned or out of date.” It just seems really rude to me. I think your house looks great.

Hi Jessie, I understand that currently you want all this stuff gone, and I too am not a fan of all the words, but - pack it up, and hand it down to your daughter. Then find you next style that you are in love with & incorporate the stuff you still are passionate about with a little bit of new stuff. You may regret getting rid of everything because I think that TH-camr’s in this community are so quick to jump on the next trend .
My daughter does not want any of my stuff haha. She is more alternative and maximilist. I rather donate it to someone else that wants to use it.
