The firefighter rescuing the dog is by far the best clip for obvious reasons. The whole video is great, though. That opal is a real winner!

That is a snapping turtle. They are really common where I live and I see them everywhere. They are really not as vicious and aggressive as people think they are and are actually quite docile mostly of the time.

Gerald Hopps showing that you’re not afraid, being aggressive, and trying to make yourself look bigger are pieces of advice I always find on sources about surviving bear encounters. That and punching them in the nose and face of all else fails.

You do realize that Polar Bears are even more aggressive than Grizzlies? Especially, since they have no land predators that rival them. I’m sure the bear was curious. However, that curiosity could’ve quickly turned into him wanting an afternoon snack. That man did the right thing. Had he ignored the bear & let it too close, it would’ve attacked him.
