  • I am incredibly impressed! I didn't think I could see a target 500 feet away in fresh water but at 320 feet I think that's a win!! I will continue testing it through out the summer and let you know what I think.

Now that the thermocline has set up I have used the lsv34 for trolling. It has been amazing to see the trout and salmon attacking the trolled spoons. I use attraction spinners off the down rigger balls and the interesting reaction of the fish. I have learned a lot this season about fish behavior. Some of things I have learned is how far a fish will come off the bottom to check out your trolling pattern, how long they will follow without biting. Salmon in particular travel in packs of 6 to 12 and attack as a group. Salmon will also go down 10 to 20’ to hit a lure. They also hit the silver swivels ahead of the lure. Next week I’m trying live bait. I’m sure that will be an educational experience. Additionally I’m not looking at my rod tips anymore. Everything is in clear view and I know rod that is going to release before it happens. Amazing stuff. The lure changes and depth adjustments are not a guess anymore. It’s all in clear view.

Googled live scope lvs 62 xr. I’m looking at getting in for walleye in my home lake so I can see my spoon around 90 ft below the boat

We have a lot in common when it comes to lake trout fishing. My lake in Ontario has small lakers 18-22 inches. The lake does not have smelt, cisco, or whitefish. Last fall the fishing was crazy good so I tried using 1/8 oz crappie tubes. Trout loved them. I fish light 4-8 # st croix rods with 8lb test 1000 size reels - so fun. Screaming drag! I sharp-shoot 95% of the time. Three years ago I bought the LVS 12, same tech as the 32 but fewer elements 30 x 20 degree cone and doesn't need the GLS 10 with my ultra 10. Works well in 30 fow or less. Sometimes it's usable even down to 50 fow. Have it transom mounted - so easy and use it in winter. I've been reluctant to jump on the 34 or 62, so your video is helpful. I'm still on the fence because I'm also interested in the PS30 which guys use for downrigging but more are using it for sharp shooting. PS30 doesn't need the GLS10. My main goal is to be able to see my tiny jigs at 100 fow. Please test that on the 62! Seeing fish isn't a problem. But it sucks if I can't see where my jig is! Cheers

Well I can see my 2.25 inch bait down to 120 easily. But it's an expensive setup. If you are fishing just 100ft watch my other videos where I use the lvs 34 that's good down to 100ft

Would you happen to know a good
setup to scope for lake trout for around $500?

You can get a traditional style 2d sonar for that price. Any hummingbird helix unit would be best

Years from now we're gonna wonder why the fish have so much cancer.
