    I have rabbits/hare that are outdoor. They dont liel people but we have feilds and other places they can hide in (ex. Hutches, man made rabbit holes, rabbit holes, bunks.. ect. ect.) They hate indoors and cannot be picked up or within 10 feet of anything that is not a rabbit/hare without them running away. They get vet checked 1 time a year.

    Ich füttere keine Pellets, die können im Magen aufquellen und zu Verstopfung führen. Testen Sie es einmal indem Sie die Pellets nass machen.
    Viel Heu und/oder frische Wiese, blättriges Gemüse, etwas Obst und Äste zum Nagen sind die natürlichere Fütterung.

    Is it ok to not give your bunny greens? Bc my mom refuses to because she thinks they will get GI stasis I disagree with her but there's not much I can do. They do have lots of water hay and pellets

    • @leahheapp
      @leahheapp ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Greens are important for a rabbit’s diet. It provides them with great nutrients that isn’t found in hay and food. Greens will not cause your rabbit to go into GI Stasis, but you do have to be mindful of what greens you give them. For example, I feed mine romaine lettuce rather than iceberg lettuce which has no nutrients in it. Kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, basil and cabbage are the main few that are in my rabbits’ diet. I feed this on a rotation, so they have something different every day. On top of this, they get grass, hay and hard feed. A lack of fibre is going to be more of a concern for rabbits than given them greens. Fibre keeps the gut moving - which is found in hay. It’s extremely rare for greens to ever cause GI, and often it’s down to foods like kale or even broccoli (very dark, rich greens) can cause a build up of gas if fed in too high of a quantity. Moderation is key for feeding any animals. But denying rabbits greens is not healthy for them, they need it! Hopefully your mum will come around. I suggest you send her some articles/ videos on rabbits’ diets. Or, if you have the means to, buy the greens yourself. My parents have always questioned whether my rabbits need greens each day, but I have been firm with them that they do (I’ve been at uni for the past 4 years and home on the weekends). My mum is now consistent at making sure they have them! Education is often needed, people don’t realise how high maintenance rabbits actually can be!

    • @lionsoulhomestead
      @lionsoulhomestead 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've done some research on prevention of GI stasis, a few tips to help reduce this illness. Brushing them when molting which reduces how much they might eat, avoid processed treats, sugar ( carrots are sugary - the tops are safe), and fatty foods / treats these 3 things can cause indigestion, per usual provide clean water unlimitedly to help them stay hydrated, avoid stressors and or / change in environment if there are changes / stressors try to do your best to keep them calm such as give them time to calm down instead of immediately picking them up or doing more, encourage exercise, last but not least feed high fiber hay based diet, supplement greens and a small amount of pellets and fruit. Feeding of any rabbit is always going to depend on their weight, not the breeds weight or the weight they should be, what is your rabbit's weight so let's say your rabbit weights 5lbs there is a certain number of greens, fruit, pellets etc. it can have that will be different for a rabbit of any other weight. I hope that makes sense.

      Hay is actually the best thing for them, thats why hay/grass is supposed to be unlimited (typically makes up 80% of a domesticated rabbits diet) and too much veggies can have too much oxalates or put them at higher risk of GI stasis, I used to feed my bunny too much veggies too until I saw it wasn't good for her digestive system, poops with a mild golden colour is a good sign, hope this helps

      @@discordiagd4202 I don't have a ton of experience with fussy bunnies but there are facebook bunny groups including a bunny vet group or 'disapproving bunnies' group where you could ask, I have seen some people say their bunnies are like children where they will eat junk food if given it and so they put sprinkles of diluted fruit juice on their hay, but im sure other people in those groups have better ideas!

    I have a bunny question what dose it mean when they bite u

    • @ZachFox.
      @ZachFox. ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing necessarily. Sometimes it's out of defense because they can feel stressed or threatened, it may be territorial, they may be frustrated if they're in a small unstimulating cage, they may also be in pain. On the other hand, some bunnies nip you (without breaking the skin) as a sign of affection or the bite was an accident (bitten you during playtime for example). It might mean something it might not - depends on the situation you and your rabbit was in

  • @il_giova_tetsuya

    Is that parsley? It’s POISONOUS!!!! Don’t give parsley to rabbits!!!

    • @ZachFox.
      @ZachFox. ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This isn't true. Parsley is great for rabbits and has high amounts of Vitamin A and K it's also a great source of fibre. Over feeding them parsley, as with any other food, can upset the rabbit's organs and health. It's about balance. You can feed your rabbit parsley just don't make it the only thing you feed them.
