Firstly Merry Christmas! :) Test drive and review of the great VW Passat CC with a 3.6 VR6 engine carrying a Christmas tree. 220kw/300ps and a DSG gearbox make it a very enjoyable drive!

Good review. Very down to earth style which is refreshing to hear..well done
Thanks a lot! :) If i may ask, did you find the length of the video ok?
Point Of View
Yes fine. Keep making them!
That video is my whole life dream....Passat VR6 with 300 HP, winter with snow and Christmas tree in the trunk...I envy you
Driving a cayenne 3.6 2008 atm. Considering this passat as I've always liked the way they look inside and out.
Nice. I have to say I generally love the note a 6-pot engine makes, but in particular the coarse grumble of VR6 is just sexy.
This car has a conventional v6 not a vr6
@@Asher104 No, it's a VR6. To be exact, it's the 3.6 BWS (EA390) engine.
@@Asher104silly billy
I really like the style of your reviews.
Thanks!
It had me until the fuel drinking part 😂
Great review my friend your video was informative and good to watch. The POV was the best, I felt like I was driving it my self and the sound... well amazing.
Best review about this car on the web! You answered to all my questions! Now i' m sure to buy it though it' s difficult to find this engine in france thanks a bunch !
Glad i could help :)
Amazing review mate! I own a 2015 CC 3.6 R-LINE and I LOVE this car. A timeless design! Hello from Canada! :)
Looking at a 2015 also. In Manuel. 2 liter. How is performance??
Performance isn't as great as the euro version @300hp...however the 280hp that I have on tap is more than enough. This car is about style and easy relaxing cruising. I love the weight of the VR6 4motion, feels nice and solid.
Are you nicki lauda???. Nice voice and great vid.
Haha nope :D But its one of the best compliments given in a while! :)
i like mine so much too, but it cant compare to newer hothatches without a turbocharger or supercharger. looking forward to 3.0 TFSI Vr6 it may bring back these glorious noises to the streets of europe one day
I have a 2018 passat GT VR6 3.6L. makes 290hp and 265ft lbs of torque. My topspeed is 155mph. I use from time to time racing fuel of 95 octane. Makes 305hp with that. Plus another 5hp with a bmc air filter highflow. A total of 310hp. It moves......
Can you please clarify a bmc air filter... thank you.
i have the 2013 VR6 CC. The sound is nice when stock, but once you start replacing parts, it becomes intoxicating. Just replacing the large middle muffler with a pipe (~$80) makes it sound better than 95% of cars out there. Then you can add a couple of quality mufflers in the rear (e.g. Magnaflow/Borla) and you have the sound of an exotic, no joke. Wookie roar!
PS: Great review, but the seats are not real leather in these cars which is great because 10 years later they still look the same unlike real leather. Also, the CC's exterior looks BETTER than similar Audis (A4, A6), and even the interior is 90% as good (I've owned 2 A4s and a TTS so I know firsthand). Oh, and no turbo lag ;)
Hey man, I have the VR6 aswell, 2012, I recently had the resonater removed (center i think), and the sound is great! but i wanna go a little louder, or try and hear some DSG farts (i heard its possible for the VR6), Does removing the large middle muffler with a pipe drone much for you? Whats the best set up to limit drone? Any tips!
Very good review the best so far
Thanks :)
I have one here in Argentina and I love it too.
I'm interested in buying VW with 3.6 engine.
5:58 - can you please explain why it doesn't matter if you have 6 or 7 speed gearbox? As far as I know 6-speed (DQ250) gearbox should be far more reliable than 7-speed (DQ200). If gearbox oil changes are correctly done every 60 000 km, there shouldn't be any problems.
I have one V6. I changed the oil every 60.000km without problems. I also do the Haldex oil change at the same time. It is a great car and I still have it. If you have questions let me know.
@@gustavososa4364 Hi there I am contemplating on getting on, I did like to know what to look out for in terms of the reliability and it's maintenance V6 engine wou;d be nice to draw a comparison to the 2.0tsi
Thanks
great video, you have a good eye for a lot of quality things from the materials used to the infotainment being laggy. I like the center screen in between the gauge cluster but the infotainment is very outdated.
Excellent review, I already really wanted to purchase this car and my choice is now even stronger! The 15L/100km figure for city drive is a bit scary but I guess that's the price to pay for such a driving experience. Do you think it can get lower with a calm driving style in town? And second question: what about the sound proofing, is it good?
I get 13-25+MPG. That's a huge range, meaning that if you push it, it will act like a V8 (and sound as good too!) but if you want, you can easily get decent fuel efficiency. But if fuel cost is a concern for you, I'd definitely get the 2.0T instead.
Great car!!! I have CC 2009 170HP
The CC is a great car!
best car ever, I've already bought a second time but as you already say the consumption is really hard now amg 43 have a facelift and consumed just as much only that he has 90 more ps
Sorry its over google translation i hope you know what i mean
Jes i do - but still hard to beat the VR6 sound :)
The trunk is really big, CC actually have 50 liters bigger trunk than the normal passat.
there is only less headroom on the back seats.
You can desactivate the ESP by taking out the fuse if I'm not mistaking
I'm thinking of buying this car in the next couple of months. It has everything I want in a car. Throaty engine, great gearbox, power and great sound. Is there something special I should consider when buying this car? I'm buying in Germany. I also feel that big mileage is not an issue in this car since it's well built and it has naturaly aspirated engine. My uncle had one and he has done over 500 000 km with no problems
did he change the timing belt tensionner? ask him pls
Esimene sinu video mida ma vaatan aga kohe sain aru, et raudselt eestlane :D Hea töö!
This guy has a funny voice.
To make matters worse am using Windows Sonic for surround sound.
So the voice seems to be coming from a little behind my right .
Great review, am looking to get one as my next car. How serious are the dsg issues? Are they guaranteed to fail prematurely?
If you're buying a newish one, you are almost guaranteed to have 0 problems AT LEAST until 60k miles. Once you're over 100k, it's a bit of a crap shoot, just like the timing belt/chain. If you are getting an older one, get a manual or regular automatic.
sounds good! what mods did you do? I have the US one we only have 280 hp
The only thing that was not stock on the car was the exhaust. It had a ulter backbox (muffler) and all the rest was stock. The exhaust did drone a little, but nothing too bad.
you also have 6-Speed normal Auto vs DSG on this one. US specs :)
@@goodnota nope. its DSG.
only reason for the less hp is the fuel quality over there. The Maps arent that sharp.
@@dildoshwaggins1017 easily fixable
Outside its not a passat because all body panels are different and front and rear lights are different. But otherwise very good car. My cc dsg is allways serviced and works fine
Few questions: how much liters it drinks fuel on 100 km? And can you turn off traction controll on new model 2014?
Its not that bad 35mpg on motorway 20mpg around town
What is the normal range of consumption of this car if i go with 100-120 speed ?
heh, your accent is very Estonian, you pretty much sound like the narrator from a TV channel named ETV that narrated kids TV shows ah good times.
Great review 👌 Great car
What year is this car?
Love your video, great review, subbed
Hey! I just got a 2009 CC like this one. Does a reversing camera come as standard because mine doesn't seem to have one! And what about the Dynaudio sound system? How can I tell if mine has the Dynaudio system or not? And if not, who makes the standard sound system?
U can see the cam physically on back if u have it, dynaudio is printed on the sterio if u have it
Is it an all wheel drive?
Nice video! Subbed
Väga asjalik video :), mis on su kõige madalam kütusekulu linnas? Plaanin ka vist sellist osta.
Olen sõitnud sellega ca 600km ning keskmine on kusagil 10-11 kanti.. ausaltöeldes ma ei vaata väga kütusekulu poole, sest üsna lihtsalt on linnas võimalik saada 15-17 sajale. Kokkuvõttes ostad sa ST justnimelt lõbuks, niiet mind ei sega see üldse :) Ja konkreetne vastus su küsimusele - ma pole madalaimat veel proovinudki :)
Point Of View tänud kiire vastuse eest :)
Paari päeva jooksul lasen välja ka pikema video antud autost. Stay tuned :)
Is it normal to have rattle chain sound for about 5 seconds at cold start?
Yes I have 2011 cc R36 at cold start first 10-15 seconds it’s soooo loud 😂
no it isnt normal. it means your timing chain tensioner is going out
@@iTzNitrOxZ no
very nice movie!
What is that near the hazards
This rewiev is made in estonia i believe. On mul õigus? Thinking about buying a 2011 b7 body passat with the same engine
Teil on täiesti õigus :) VR6 mootor on tõesti väga hea ning võrdlemisi haruldane tänapäeva sedaanide seas. Enamus uuemad on juba turboga.
I'm going to be taking the engine out of this car and throwing it in my mk3 jetta vr6
I'd love to see that.
What year is it from...2010 ?
4wd? Or fwd?
4wd
how much annually would you spend on this car in terms of repair?
Over 4 years I've spent 2.5k on a new gearbox, about 2k in maintenance. Not cheap but great fun.
Who’s the faster the 3.6 L or the 2.0 turbo
3.6 stock. The 2.0 is faster with a tune though.
What is consuption in normal drive outside of town? Like 60km/h cruise
I would say i got around 7 l/100km
Point Of View i got to say that is low consumption if u consider that is 300hp, vr6 engine.. very nice! Thank you
Aldin Capone I get 35mpg motorway, it's not as bad as people make out lol
What is the year of this passat?
2009
Does this one have launch control like the R36?
Yes, if it's DSG.
no Dsg is not always with LC you bitchass. Some boxes need an unlock inside the maps. Because of ignorant, partlyknowing SoBs like u, there are so much wrecked DSGs!

You should have it checked out - otherwize the bill will be muchmuch lagerg if ot damages the engine when it goes..
@@SilverhillDrives had it checked 4 times by vw mate :) each time, nothing to worry about.
@@SilverhillDrives its not got any worse in 50k miles, its an oil driven chain tensioner, i know another 2 guys with the bws engine, one is in a mk 4 golf the other is in another R36 they both rattle haha
The v6 models dont have dsg gearboxes
Are you sure about that?????
american versions do not , european versions do
@@kobericha You need to state that. Your American versions also don't have 4motion and have less power 280hp?
TheGod0fThunder 4motion is available on 280hp american version but only 2.0tsi emgines come with dsg gearbox

I don’t know what you’re talking about all the clutch repairs it’s bullshit .. I have Passat cc R line R36 for 200,000 Km and no clutch issues
Sorry to say but them you should expect some soon... Chain has been replaced?
@@SilverhillDrives no, if you care about your car and do all the oil changes at 6,000 km no need to change chain. I have expert who told me that. Car is working perfectly
I have same one in china but it is 280hp
Very interesting! Do you know anything about the 3.0 turbo vr6 in China? Nice to have one of you guys here beeing able to write in latin letters.Looking forward to your answer!
You talk a whole fukkin time!!!

DUTCH?
Estonian :)
Does this car also has pump Bolt problem like the early one?
Mine doesn't and its a 2008
@@dixonbainbridge923 thanks for your response, what is it that I should look out for?the car has done 75000km mileage
@@tshwaraganopius1638 mine has done 92000, I've put 60 k on mine in 5 years. Not really, check the 4motion works, the 4moton computer is known for getting gunked up as sits on the underside of the rear diff (dumb place to put it) i needed a new gearbox after 2 weeks so make sure the car goes in to reverse after a drive when you buy it haha
Make sure you hear it cold start too and listen for how loud the rattle is and how long it lasts, over 5 seconds walk away
