😂😂😂😂😂 this is why I love Jett. Kid has raw talent and speed but You can def tell he’s 16 lol it’s good that the team is lettin him be a kid tho and not pushin him too hard too quick. Love the vids you all have been putting out. Congrats on the podium last night.
"i just want to go vrum vrum vrum, braap braap braap. hurry up hurry up" hahahahahah love Jett. 16 man. such a kid. If he can stay up, he can win. has to minimize the crashes though
I wouldn’t change anything with Jett except his trying to over ride at times and the small mistakes. This kid has the potential to be a legend. Keep it fun for him and he’ll get the wins.
Dude you riding factory no welding shit back together anymore hahaha this kid has a damn big future ahead of him interesting to see how much Input his dad still has.
With that said I’m 42 and have been a carpenter for 23 years. The Formans I had were 100 times worse than that l. But then I saw them just fire people and not yell. I realized they yelled because they did not want me to be a pussy. So now 23 years later some of them work for me. Just saying some times you need to be firm and mean to get the best out of someone. Now they all respect me.
For today's SX tracks, all you really need to practice is the starts, whoops, and taking the most inside line you can in a corner before a rhythm section with enough speed to clear the rhythm section like everybody else. The start and the whoops are the only 2 places where a better racer can actually go faster than a mid pack guy. The most inside line you can do in the corners, (before rhythm sections), will help your corner speed, (that most SX racers are lacking today), and you of course travel less footage. Since many racers can actually stop in a corner and make the the rhythm sections, corner speed is no longer king in this sport, (unless you only take inside lines when possible), but still can shave of .5 or more a lap if you can take the most inside line. All you really need to do is master those three remaining factors, Starts, Whoops and indie lines before the rhythm sections,---and do it for 29 laps.
Jetts mechanic, criticizing Jetts start straight form ? saying he leans too far back. Jetts always had that style, and has always been a gun starter due to it, this mechanic wants to change that to be the same as every other rider out there ? Let him start how he starts, it works for him.
The kid seems quite nice ,seems humble And respectful .... also those were good starts ! The Trainer seems to have arrogant prick syndrome if I’m not mistaken 😬
Practice bikes are used for practice so the race bike stays fresh with less hours on them, and I believe they will run parts longer on a practice bike.
Different settings. Most pro bikes are all decked out even the practice bikes, the difference mainly has to do with jetting, shocks, handle bar adjustments, even different sprockets. They may used different sprockets with more, or less teeth depending on the bike set up, and track. I know this because I raced as a pro in the 90's. A lot has changed since then but the routine is still the same.
For best performance during race day, there should be no difference in performance. Since the production rule was placed on the USA only in 1986, there is really no reason why the practice bikes are not exactly like their race bikes. They should be so "alike" that the racers can't tell the difference.
Basically zero difference. Everything is the same. The only real difference is how long they will use the parts. Race chassis stay super tight all season because they don’t end up wth the same hours on them. Practice suspension and frames just ‘loosen’ up a bit. But in terms of parts and settings they are the same. They will change certain things on the practice bike for testing, and if the rider likes the setting it will get transferred to the race bike.
The mechanic knows what Jett needs done to the bike, I doubt Jett has ever turned a wrench on any bike or even cleaned his own air filter. Jett and the mechanic have got to be a solid team or it will never work out.
I get friendly banter but I’m getting a strong sense of condescension coming from Jet’s mechanic. It’s borderline unprofessional / disrespectful. Not a good look for the Team imo. I wasn’t impressed. I had to turn it off
He is still just a child. A very talented child, but still just a child. We were all there. I think the kid would drive me nuts, (like playing drums on a sub-frame), but I would still have to remember that verbal abuse outside of constructive criticism, is probably not going to get the best results on the track. I have the answer for the kid who tells you to "hurry up" though. "Do you want it right, -------------or do you want it right now?".
I honestly look at it almost more like two brothers. You can tell that the mechanic is much more than just that. He is a friend, a coach, and a mentor. I think that when he was saying shut up, or come say it to my face boy that he was just joking with the kid.
I think he is standing up to fast on the start, and it causes more dynamics that is harder to control. Just lean the upper body back for more traction down the straight. I know technique evolves, but that does not mean a newer method is better. I have no idea why he is standing up right after hitting the next gear.
He is doing that because he was starting in first gear and not second so in order to keep a rocket like speed out of the gate, you have to get to that second gear fast and naturally standing up in that moment helps to click it fast and perfect. Idk why tho every other rider starts in second maybe first gear works for em who knows
I see annoying comments about the mechanic, but do you know his relationship outside this video ?, many criticizing as if they knew his relationship🤦♂️
Stop wheelieing man. Lol, I said in a Salt Lake Video the guy was trying to be cool or show off or something and took it too far and couldn't slow down enough in time for the first corner.
So many people hating on the mechanic, im sure this is all scripted.. and this kid fucking rips so obviously his trainer/mechanic is good... Bunch of goons in the comments fr
As I said on the Racer X wrap up show. You all need to calm the FUCK down on the Lawrence brothers. Too much hype and they haven't actually done anything yet. A little bit over rated and Jett seems a little bit unhinged to me.
But see how annoying and impatient he is, banging stuff all around the mechanic, "telling him" can you hurry up. The guy is working on the bike fairly diligently.
man he really is just a kid. just wants to ride the damn bike and have fun. I love it!
Mechanic-Gotta stop wheeling man!
Jett-Wheelies off start in heat race and nearly grabs holeshot(if Forkner didn't take him out)
😂😂😂😂😂 this is why I love Jett. Kid has raw talent and speed but You can def tell he’s 16 lol it’s good that the team is lettin him be a kid tho and not pushin him too hard too quick. Love the vids you all have been putting out. Congrats on the podium last night.
Yea Jett a beast
Good to see a Kid having fun at practice
This kid is phenomenal! Having fun and working hard
More plz 😂
I feel some tension in the air lol
So I'm not the only one to think that?
beemac70 no sir your not I was like damn man. He’s just a kid
Congrats on the 3rd overall today Jett! Big fan here from Arizona! Love you Hunter Bros.!
"i just want to go vrum vrum vrum, braap braap braap. hurry up hurry up" hahahahahah love Jett. 16 man. such a kid. If he can stay up, he can win. has to minimize the crashes though
I love these candid behind-the-scenes videos.
I wouldn’t change anything with Jett except his trying to over ride at times and the small mistakes. This kid has the potential to be a legend. Keep it fun for him and he’ll get the wins.
He definitely a Legend
Wheelying? Really dude? You must have REALLY hated his holeshot in the heat. Straight up baller wheelie by Jett to the 1st turn.
Jett..your racing skills are so mature..stay safe ..you are super cross champ for 2022..get ready relax and breath..see you at the track.
it was the mechanics time of the month
Dude you riding factory no welding shit back together anymore hahaha this kid has a damn big future ahead of him interesting to see how much Input his dad still has.
Yeah that mechanic seems like a toss who seems like he thinks his the main guy, keen to see jet on the podium again hopefully top step next 👌
he is teaching him. Probably was Tomac’s mechanic at one point. Don’t know for sure but he seems like he has been around the game a while.
@@CG-11235spiral total douchebag. Not a good energy to be racing around. Just sayin
I agree, the guy's job is to wrench and be positive. Not to mess with his head. I picked that up too on him...not cool.
soundslikesprout I totally agree I wouldn’t want to be around that there is enough stress racing at that level.
With that said I’m 42 and have been a carpenter for 23 years. The Formans I had were 100 times worse than that l. But then I saw them just fire people and not yell. Jett's the real deal....Once he keeps it on 2 wheels, he'll be trouncing the other boys.
Yup
Pre Red Bull helmets, I forget these days
That all white gear with gold letters is tuff
Thanks for making this vid the Lawrence’s!!!
“Come say it to my face then boy!” Lmao
I love where his bike sits in the revs
Right in the meat all the time

You still believe this ?
state farm ad right before a geico racing team video lolol
The mechanic seems like a cranky kent
Good job Jett go get boy !
Race from The front
Jett kind of reminds me of RJ.
If he can avoid major injury as he learns he will have some titles.
P Bau haha yeh but wayyyyy taller ;) lol
Yup
Look at that 2 foot down start on tippy toes. I invented that for myself in 1985. What took you guys so long to figure it out? :)
Man I love Jett 😂😂😂
Jetts mechanic, criticizing Jetts start straight form ? saying he leans too far back.

Let him start how he starts, it works for him.
Jetts such a pest Hahahaha I love it
what's up with that intro why took so long we all want to see action 🤘
The kid seems quite nice ,seems humble And respectful .... also those were good starts !
The Trainer seems to have arrogant prick syndrome if I’m not mistaken 😬
Hey guys were gonna be recording tomorrow remember to wear all black so u look cool
Love the kits
Kid’s just having fun, love his humor and attitude! Mechanic needs to loosen up a bit.
Jett will become God
Lol believe all in hype let see😂😂
the next Jlaw hahaha
Let him wheelie lol. He gets like all of the holeshots doing a wheelie.
What is the difference between a race bike and practice bike ?

Its just grip doughnuts
I’d have some issues with that mechanic 100%
Exterioris-vallem its not banter, its passive aggressive. Id backhand that cnt.
The mechanic knows what Jett needs done to the bike, I doubt Jett has ever turned a wrench on any bike or even cleaned his own air filter. Jett and the mechanic have got to be a solid team or it will never work out.
What’s that truck they got
Motos do sonhos♥️😍
The next Aussie 2 time champ?
I get friendly banter but I’m getting a strong sense of condescension coming from Jet’s mechanic. It’s borderline unprofessional / disrespectful. Not a good look for the Team imo. I wasn’t impressed. I had to turn it off
They’re actually like best friends and it’s a joke and their type of humor
I did the same
Anyone know where jett got that hat from?
Please more vids on the brothers
He is still just a child. A very talented child, but still just a child. We were all there. I think the kid would drive me nuts, (like playing drums on a sub-frame), but I would still have to remember that verbal abuse outside of constructive criticism, is probably not going to get the best results on the track.

Can take the boy out of Oz but you can't take the OZ out of the boy!!!!!!
9:15 getting loose 👀
Callum Murfitt should have seen chase sexton the weekend before this I was at the regional and he’s was there throwing the fattest scrubs it was sick
mantab lur
The mechanic needs to chill a bit, Jett is 16 let the kid ride and have fun still.
That mechanic seems like the kinda guy that calls himself an engineer because he turns tools.
I agree. I have been a factory Yamaha mechanic to winning riders and I still wouldn't call myself an engineer.
thats stupid you have to know a lot about dirtbikes to do what he does. he is a mechanic for a FACTORY team.
Evan Ryan exactly, a mechanic, not an Engineer who designs the bike 😅
Why first.
Is he heavy?
altitude dude even the 450s start in 1st
Jasper Drijfhout lmao what
that mechanic needs to go
"Its just tubing, in all honesty your not that tuff". That dudes one bad mo fo
First baby ! Honda for life! New JLaw
Sucks cuz ya weren’t first
New JLaw? Take that back lol Jett has heaps more class, style and speed than that joker
Jlaw was troubled. Amazing what he threw away.
Why are they wearing one black boot and one white
Doesn't the coach mean, "10 more, that one sucked."? (not one more).

@@graysonpolanski8309Interesting
Man wish these guys would stay lower and get back on seat quicker on starts.
chain slapping on wopp's
This was a bit awkward
Yeah seems to be a weird relationship with his mechanic. Think the mechanic has an ego, and he’s forgetting who the star is. And Jet seems chill AF.
F Maza i didn’t see anything weird with the mechanic? Maybe you thought that because the camera was more on the mechanic
Alex Panella how?
I see annoying comments about the mechanic, but do you know his relationship outside this video ?, many criticizing as if they knew his relationship🤦♂️
👊
Meet George Jetson
Stop wheelieing man. Lol, I said in a Salt Lake Video the guy was trying to be cool or show off or something and took it too far and couldn't slow down enough in time for the first corner.
Seems like the mechanic is upset cause he’s twisting a wrench instead of a throttle..
His pants are so tight
So many people hating on the mechanic, im sure this is all scripted.. and this kid fucking rips so obviously his trainer/mechanic is good... Bunch of goons in the comments fr
That mechanic sucks. Was this a video about him? Sour wanna be pro racer turned wrench 😂
Once Jett matures more and hopefully starts winning, I'd kick that fuck of a mechanic off that team ctfuu no need for bad vibes👎
Kid needs to come to Yamaha and fire that doucebag mechanic
Stupid move for forkner to take out Jett not a good time to be making enemies it could easily cost him the championship forkner still learning .
Lol Let's see against jett Reynolds
If I was Jett idve told that mechanic that he needed to shut up and fix my bike, I’m the rider not the one who decided to work on bikes😂
Not a fan of this mechanic's attitude. I would be questioning the mechanic too if I was Jett.
wears a chain while riding? whats wrong with him? XD
Style bud style
Is it a 428 or 520 chain? Big difference. :)
Kenny does the same
First
Man they need a different mechanic fuck that.
As I said on the Racer X wrap up show. You all need to calm the FUCK down on the Lawrence brothers. Too much hype and they haven't actually done anything yet. A little bit over rated and Jett seems a little bit unhinged to me.
so dad needs to choose the set up,get faaarkkt go home leave the kids alone
He is so skinny I bet his pants are a 26
Seems like such a sh!t passive aggressive environment.
You can walk home, Jett wouldn't care.. Tool
But see how annoying and impatient he is, banging stuff all around the mechanic, "telling him" can you hurry up. The guy is working on the bike fairly diligently.
Cringe... are all mechanics like this or do some actually want to sport their rider?
This mechanic is horrible
this family are gonna rub alot of people the wrong way ...aussie version of the alessi's
Shut up
True😂😂
Jett Lawrence should learn how to ride before making videos.
Haha you have no idea. Jett will be a title favourite next year. His lap times are already up there with the best. He just needs consistency.
