Panasonic RF-2400D V/S Tecsun PL-600 radio, MW/AM side by side comparison

- Today Morning I have made this side by side comparison. This is not an entire band-scan but the stations which I receive at my location. Video Recorded at my hometown Jalna, Maharashtra, India. So, the location Jalna doesn't have any local MW or Aakashwani channel. So I believe it is great place for deciding a radio's capability of receiving stations on MW band. Both this Panasonic RF-2400D and Tecsun PL-600 has the same 10 cm Ferrite bar antenna.
In this comparison, I have noticed that the Panasonic is good performer than Tecsun OR the Pansonic doesn't has that hiss sound which can be heard on Tecsun.
Note that this comparison done inside the home near window when the area lights are off so that there will minimum or no electric interference.
Below are the frequencies and the station information with approximate distance from my location.
-585 : Aakashwani Nagpur | Station Power: 200KW | Distance: 417 Kms.
-792: Aakashwani Pune | Station Power: 100KW | Distance: 296 Kms.
-963: Aakashwani Jalgaon | Station Power: 20KW | Distance: 152 Kms.
Apart from this, the other station are available on day time are Parbhani, Indore and one Telugu channel.
The Parbhani Aakashwani is the nearest one with 10Kw power at 136 kms (Not shown here).

Имею также и Panasonic и Tecsun, так вот что выявлено: panasonic очень хорош для города и квартиры, а вот tecsun себя лучше проявляет на улице за городом, он для аутдора.

Купил модель PANASONIC RF-2400DEE-K, я не знаю чем они отличаются.
У меня есть Sangean SR-36 и Degen DE1103, Sangean на АМ ловит 5 или 6 станций, а Degen вообще ничего не ловит.

Very nice comparison Sir.. Panasonic make no hiss and clearly wins..is it coz of tecsun has dsp chip? What chip is inside the panasonic?
Yes because of DSP chip of Tecsun it makes hiss. I'm unsure which chip Panasonic has used.
@@_Vinayak18 The RF-2400D uses a DSP chip as well, Panasonic calls it AFC (Automatic Frequency Control). The Panasonic RF-2400D is one of the best FM/AM radios for the money, in fact is it even better than the more expensive Sony ICF-506 in selectivitivity and sensitivity !
Very good reception test for both model. Would you want to test Tecsun MS-200? The price is not to bad, and the circuitry is fully superheterodyne.

AliExpress pe ek baar price dekh lelo, uspar thoda kam rate par milega. Direct china se aayegaa.
Agar radio sirf AM FM band ka chahiye to C Crane ka EP Pro model consider karo.

Hi, I don't think currently any Indian radio can perform good on SW band. You can look for other foreign brands like Tecsun, Eton, C crane, etc. high end radio. They're very costly in India though.
OR you can also try old/vintage radio if you get in good condition on OLX, Quikr, etc.

@@_Vinayak18 Which analog foreign brand that uses more than 3 volt input is good in SW for that matter? You have cited only DSP sets. All IC analog sets be it Philips or Panasonic, using more than 3v make electric motor running sound throughout the AM wave. This is the reason why Sony concentrating on 3 volt pocket size radios, and Philips sounds best in RL 118 and DL 167.

Bhai Agar sirf FM chahiye to Philips ka ya koi bhi dusre brand ka 3 cell ka radio lelo. Sasta bhi padega. Otherwise Panasonic RF-562DD le sakte ho.

Hello Sir, I have bought it for 4000₹ at that time(2019). I suggest you to check price on all sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc. And yes, it is compatible with Indian AC power supply, so don't worry about that.

Consider Panasonic 562D, complete analog radio which is good on MW, FM band. This radio is just good what is it made for, has a good sound quality, better MW and FM reception. But don't expect too much.

जी हा सर जी. C Crane EP Pro बढिया रेडिओ है. अगर आपको 2 bands का रेडिओ चाहिए तो EP Pro is best option. क्यो की ये कोई नॉर्मल radio nahi hai.
इस मे MW aur FM दोनो band के लिये external इंटेंना भी कनेक्ट कर सकते है.
Sound भी अच्छा है.
इसका प्राइस लॉकडाऊन के पहले 15-16 हजार के आसपास था Amazon इंडिया पर, लेकीन लोकडाऊन के बाद रेट बहोत ज्यादा हो गया है. अभी इसका रेट 25-30 हजार के आस पास है.

Please don't compare an analog radio with a DSP radio. This is no comparison.
Well, both are DSP radios in there own way.
This guy clearly never used a fking radio … try to get nearer to the frequency to remove the hiss totally dammit .. he more concerned about camera angles and zoom!
