It maybe due to my setup that I have good luck. I have a cone from a large thread spool glued to pvc section. The spool will slide in until it’s tight. So if the noodle shrinks the spool will add needed pressure to expand the noodle until it’s tight. I wish I could show you a pic.

So i tried this technique last night and had to base paint my cup. I knew the white base was not dry when i started the alcohol, what I found was a metallic look with my alcohol. It looked great behind my colors for depth, please try this sometime.

polyester glitter will not bleed under epoxy/solvents and doesn't fade as easily in sunlight vs craft glitter, craft glitter is fine when you are starting off and practicing but is not recommend past that. polyester glitter also has better coverage
@@nancyblake7425 there is no way to tell just by looking at it... the difference between poly glitter and craft glitter is temp tolerance, poly is good up to 350 degrees and craft glitter is good to 280 degrees, I have used both on my cups without a problem

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make epoxy tumblers. I can't seem to get past the mod podge. When I add a layer of mod podge then add glitter it looks kind of ok for a first layer. Then when I try to add second layer (even waiting a day later and shaking and rubbing extra glitter) it mixes my glitter in my mod podge and never applies a good solid layer of glitter. I gave up and stopped trying to make tumblers with glitter/paint/etc...Do you have any good helpful tips for me?

Seal your glitter with a top coat of mod and then let dry completely. I let mine sit for a day or so and remember Mod glue dries clear so you won't see it as mixed when dry
@@janiceterrell86 You can do it over epoxy with no problem, if you are doing several layers of ink some seal with epoxy between layers but it isn't necessary
just enough to hit the cup quickly to pop the micro bubbles. It's the Co2 from the flame that pops them... move quickly and not too close you don't want to burn it. When it burns it bubbles and you can't get rid of those.

@@brendamorgado562 just be sure to always wear your protective gear so you don't develop an allergy with prolonged use... remember.. they may say it's voc free but when mixed it still gives off vapors that you may or may not be able to smell.... I compare it to natural gas, if they didn't put the "rotten egg" smell into natural gas you would not be able to smell it but it is still toxic

They erred placed on non sick backing because the stickiness would collect random dust n glitter particles.. and Summer is frugal.. she will not waste a thing.. she still find a way to.use them😉
That is what she did after the mod podge when she was rubbing her finger over the glitter and pushing it into the cup. that is burnishing the glitter. she did alittle more after she did the second coat to. it's just rubbing the glitter into the cup after the mod podge dried alittle

depending on your turner you can take the football or whatever you are using off and then tape the bottle top (you don't want to epoxy the threads anyway) to the turner arm

If you can find the huge star shaped pool noodle you can cut off a section to use for the larger tumblers. It holds them great.

I have several bottles of glitter that came bulk so the individual bottles aren't labeled. The glitter is very fine. How can I tell what type it is?

So, how do you fix the top edge if it gets scuffed by the sandpaper; is there a way to make it shiny again?

If you are putting the black bottoms back on why are you covering the bottoms with glitter?

She did not put the bottoms back on... she left them off but it is really personal choice, they are not needed on the finished product

No, these are not dishwasher safe, the epoxy will melt with the heat of the water.... not meant to be soaked either.. Hand wash only

She talked about burnishing the green glitter. But I heard nothing or seen nothing on doing that technique. Did I miss it or did she skip it?

how do you put a stainless steel bottle on a turner. the ones with the small opening.

This is not a crack cup..crackle is with either crackle medium or Elmer’s glue and acrylic paint.
this is just another method for crackle. There are many ways to "crackle" a cup

I disagree. The metal wine "tumblers" make up 2/3rds of this tutorial. Unless you don't consider a metal wine cup to be a tumbler. Why so negative?
