Sometimes I would think Ash might not be the hardest one, because lack of the 1 frame link trial (which I think is the hardest). Saiki is the one that has the combination of 1 frame link trials and complicated moves.

@@ReisSns yeah his optimal combos are tough but nothing like his trials the biggest hurdles in Ash's trials that I noted is foing drive cancels and also buffering the charge inputs during those said cancels and Sans Cullote combos are an another hurdle as well but in the end after some really long hours I was able to complete them

Not gonna lie I dont like playing kof but man its so much fun pushing through these trials. I practically live for hard combo trials and just swag stuff its what got me into fighting games as a kid. May not be as competitive as I should be but I enjoy labbing and finding tech to pass off to my friends who can use it better then I ever could.

they are fun and give you a feel of the character while making you used to the possible combo routes. not necessarly the bnb but its a good start. I also love to lab combos I've seen on youtube and clear trials of the character I want to learn/enjoy.
In a real match all you would need to do is DP into the anti-air fireball and loop that. Is so unnecessary to do all of those combos into teleports cuz it takes more of your meter. Though it looks cool as hell
Yeah but these are pro players, they see the game differently. It might not be the best thing to go for, but that's what makes these players do great. Takes a whole lot of work learning these games, which we all can appreciate.
That cancel is brutal. I've been stuck on the last 2 trials for the longest time. Usually if you tap d, f+p after the dp motion you can get the cancel to come out. I learned that from doing the Ryo trials. For his you have to do dp into kouken like a million times. Hope that helps to anyone struggling to do that cancel.

I wish I could do better at this game watching everyone's videos including Justin Wong got me hyped to replay these challenges. Bad news I have no patience as I used to wow my timing is so bad. Hopefully If you make some tutorial videos instead of getting stressed out my man I would try those challenges again.
IMHO Saiki trials have the best difficulty curve design out of all characters. Most characters are either ridiculously easy all the way or at some point turn into some crazy pro stuff.

the trial combos are unnecessarily hard, but there are way easier BnB 1 drive cancel into super combos that are basically as rewarding and easy to do. finding one that you like is a lot of the fun, and you can kinda upgrade the combo as you get used to it

Other games sprinkle different options as well: F-Ryogi in melty blood can do a regular repeated 236A/B x3 rekka, can hold the middle hit A/B for a charge, or completely change it from 236A/B to a 214A/B. So it pretty much has morphed into a special you can only get by canceling another specific special :)
Justin is a pro and these trials are testing his patience, so imagine a kid buying this game from Gamestop looking to do all the "cool" combos. Good luck, kid--you'll be able to actually get a MMA championship fight before you pass all these trials.
When the characters glow yellow, they’re in HD mode. It means they can do more Drive Cancels in combos and can now cancel their Supers into their Neo Maxes
@@kazy8029 I think you should check it out. The combos trials are really just to challenge your execution rather than being practical. I'd honestly say that kof 13 is one of the best ones to play as your first kof, the combo system is fun and intuitive, it looks great, and a lot of the problems kof fans have with it (ie: Some of the funky character redesigns, a pretty bland roster, missing moves, etc.) don't really matter to new players.

@@kazy8029 Kof 2002 UM is also on ps4, I believe they added rollback to it recently. As for motion inputs, personally I think the perception that kof motions require some insane level of practice is pretty dumb. Outside of the pretzel motion (which is basically only reserved Geese's super), the only major difference between the motion inputs of kof compared to something like Street Fighter is that kof uses a bunch more half-circle motions, which aren't to hard to get down. One nice thing about kof inputs is that there are no 360 motions, so you won't accidentally jump when trying to command grab someone.

Doing KoF13 trials is about enjoying the process. Salt and all. I've only completed the trials for a couple of characters but it was fun.
I completed the trials for characters such as Reg.Kyo Ash Benimaru Ex.Iori K' Shen Ryo Duolon Kim Kensou Takuma Chin
Ash trials 8 and 9. I'm so looking forward to that day.
It took me two hours to complete those two but I did it as Ash was one of my favourites to play in this game.

Like a *KOF* player when you do a transition to *SF* you will have 2or 3 frames faster reaction than a native SF player. 😂😂😂😂
