Usually no. If you embroider on clothes and want to cover the threads on the back side, you can use interfacing

Which kind of cloth are you using and which size of needle and which threads

Linen fabric; different needles for different amount of strands, for 6-12 strands it is DMC embroidery needle #3 or equal; cotton embroidery floss DMC. For this information I also recommend to watch this video: th-cam.com/video/PZZHCXvdKEk/w-d-xo.html
