    It is so cool how your awareness gets enhanced that causes you to think that your senses have gotten sharper. I get that way after just a good day hike or 2. I loved the trip. Thanks for taking us along.

    I think this was your best episode. So many fascinating insights. Such well spoken wisdom. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    I'd have to say your videos were the most enjoyable of the AT Class of 2015. Congrats on your hike and thanks for taking us along. Besides the sad sad loss of you dog, what was the lowest point for you mentally on your hike and how did you overcome that?

    Thanks for all the videos. You were instrumental in getting me psyched for my 2017 thru hike. Some great tips...

    Thanks for sharing! I was set to hike the AT then I met my husband and my plans became our plans.. which means things got delayed! Haha. We have a 15 month old and are living in Hawaii at the moment but I hope when our kids are a little older we will thru hike with them. =)

    Dixie and Whitney, Thank You once again. Enjoyed all of your answers but loved when you addressed the senses best. I work in the schools and I love it, but I have become a huge fan of silence on my time off. People get so used to noise they don't realize it. How about you?

    I'm curious about your daily logistics of the trail. When and how many hot meals did you have? Did you cook at your camp site or earlier in the day? when did you start in the day? Did you take may breaks during the day? How often did you night hike? What was your average daily mileage?

    Dixie, first, great job with all of your AT videos! You really made the trail experience something special ... Also, you mentioned perhaps visiting Delaware Water Gap again. If you do, visit Jim Thorpe while in the area; I bet you'll love It. It's a really quaint town on the Lehigh River less than an hour drive away. www.jimthorpe.org Looking forward to your unique perspective of the PCT!

    You look fine without makeup. That's one of the first things I noticed about you on the trail. You don't need it. Natural is better. If you think the views were good from the AT, wait till you do the PCT! Especially the Sierras in California.

    Were you employed when you hiked the trail?
    As much as I want to hike the trail there is no way I can take six months off from my job.

    • @HomemadeWanderlust
      @HomemadeWanderlust  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Shadowwarrior2169 Nope, I saved a lot before I left. I deferred my student loans (probably not the best decision financially). I live frugally, anyway. I don't have a new vehicle. I don't do credit cards. Debt is the main thing holding people back these days, so I try to avoid it like the plague. Sugars vet bills put a hurting on me, but I don't regret anything I spent on her. Anyway, if you don't feel you can financially step away for 6 months, you can always section hike! I feel like that's almost more of an accomplishment because the logistics are more difficult and you never fully develop trail legs. But, where there's a will, there's a way!
