One of the Greatest Post Season pitchers of All Time. Plus Dude played for the Harlem Globetrotters for a year.

Gibby was the best to ever pitch for the Cardinals, and might be a top 5 all time pitcher. He was an absolute boss, and one of the meanest to ever take the mound. If he pitched today, no one would dare bat flip him, or the next at bat they'd get a ball to the ear hole.

So dominant that the pitcher’s mound was lowered for the 1969 season.

I remember those felt pennants. We used to get one for every team we saw play. We'd pin them to our bedroom walls. I don't think they make them anymore

Do you really think a guy who pitched in an era where starting pitchers went well over 100 pitches a game isn't a machine just because they didn't dink around and the games used to go faster?

How about a Gibson vs Koufax game. They rarely went as long as 2 hours. Score was normally 1-0 or 2-1 at most.

@@Dominos-el7qr Truly. In ALL of the interviews I've seen of people who knew him, nothing bad was ever said. There was only admiration for him.
