You know what, I’m just come right out and say it, as funny as this video was and as much as I know it’s fun to make fun of it, I seriously respect them for having the balls to make their own ending instead of just whining about it like a lot of other fans. They made something that they’re proud of out of passion for something they loved and no one can take that away from them. The artists who worked on it are very talented as well

It’s completely free and non profit, any money they get from donations just goes to paying the artists who worked on it which from what I can tell is completely legal in the same way that it’s not illegal to commission an artist to draw fan art of another person’s series unless the original creator themselves takes issue with it. So far I don’t think Isayama seems to care at all if fans make this kinda stuff.

I’ve always been a little unclear on how making Eren the father of her baby is supposed to make Historia a better character? Maybe it’s because people had time to come up with theories while the manga was coming out, but I don’t think the “Historia baby” plot point was ever intended to be a big deal. It strikes me as a bit weird that so many people got hung up on that in particular- really, why does it matter??
Actually I think that the baby daddy being a nobody improves Historia´s character, proving that she has found freedom and happiness in her own little way, as she was free to build a family instead of being forced to give birth to children as a part of a military or ideological agenda. Her choice was "selfish" and that´s ok. Historia´s pregnancy being just another pawn in Eren´s agenda would ruin her character.

For months after Historia was revealed to be pregnant, manga readers were dead set that Eren was the baby daddy. At one point it just became fact and people got upset when Eren was revealed not to be the father.
Even if this was the ending, people would still incessantly bitch about it all the same because the end result is the same. If Paradis doesn't end up destroyed by outside forces, it gets destroyed by internal forces, conflict is natural and people will always find a reason to hate each other.

I think the story build up before the time skip made more sense that Historia would end up with Eren but on the other hand, it kinda made sense after that, I don't see why commiting g*nocide would make her any into him, makes sense for it to be a turn off. What I don't get is the obsession of many ending haters to turn Eren into a nationalist of some kind. Like you don't need to be a nationalist to do what Eren did but they always have to use nationalist language. As funny as this video is, anr is better ending for me in terms of finnishing Erens character. Core part of ANR is Eren being misserable after rumbling because of what he did. In ending we got, he kinda just dies and wins because his friends are seccured for the future. You may say that his punnishment is death but he let himself get killed so everything happened according to his will.

The people that shit on no requiem would've loved it if Isayama ended up going with it. Eren being put in a position where he can either choose to save his child and people, or save his friends would've been brilliant to see. Especially since throughout the entire series you know Eren cares deeply for his friends, so him having to choose one or the other would be crazy to see. As a writer you want to create tension, having an ending where his people and friends get saved, with his friends still loving him is just boring. The ending we got is a happy ending, a happy ending doesn't fit AoT, A bitter sweet ending where Eren succeeds, gets everything he wanted only to hate life because now he has no one other than his daughter? Jokes aside, this is way better than what Isayama went with. Eren had a plan. He was going to win. All of Paradi's enemies would be gone. Paradi and all its inhabitants would be okay. Problem solved. Eren would get Freedom for all his friends just like he wanted. And before anyone says anything, no. There was no will they or won't they with Eren x Mikasa. At best, it was a one sided bond. Historia understood what Eren really wanted because she hates humanity just as much as he did. So, no. There is a point to what Isayama intially planned before he changed his mind at the last minute. You misunderstood the point, even if eren succeeded and paradis no longer had enemies, far into the future wars will still be waged and paradis will still be destroyed. Keep in mind that future paradis (2000+ years) is a completely different society now, and shares nothing common culturally with the paradis we know. The ending of series is talking about the cycle of violence, that war and conflict are in human nature, and no matter what happens, we will continue to tear eachother apart until we're fundamentally extinct. Back to eren, the reason why eren is such a beautifully written character is because his goals remain the same throughout the whole series, which is the protection of his friends and comrades. When he sees the future he faces 2 options, allowing the destruction of paradis and thus letting his friends die, or to destroy the world that opposes paradis island and allowing his friends to live. He chooses the latter, but keeps 20% of humanity because the jeagerists still consider mikasa and armin as traitors and would have them executed Eren is not a hero, he said it himself, he was given an enormous amount of power and he used it for selfish reasons...

He only cares about protecting those closest to him, something he accomplished after the rumbling, as armin and the rest lived out the rest of their lives in peace. No matter how impactful your actions may be, you can't end all human conflict for the rest of eternity. It’s completely free and non profit, any money they get from donations just goes to paying the artists who worked on it which from what I can tell is completely legal in the same way that it’s not illegal to commission an artist to draw fan art of another person’s series unless the original creator themselves takes issue with it. So far I don’t think Isayama seems to care at all if fans make this kinda stuff.

I’ve always been a little unclear on how making Eren the father of her baby is supposed to make Historia a better character? Maybe it’s because people had time to come up with theories while the manga was coming out, but I don’t think the “Historia baby” plot point was ever intended to be a big deal. It strikes me as a bit weird that so many people got hung up on that in particular- really, why does it matter??
Actually I think that the baby daddy being a nobody improves Historia´s character, proving that she has found freedom and happiness in her own little way, as she was free to build a family instead of being forced to give birth to children as a part of a military or ideological agenda. Her choice was "selfish" and that´s ok. Historia´s pregnancy being just another pawn in Eren´s agenda would ruin her character.

I think the story build up before the time skip made more sense that Historia would end up with Eren but on the other hand, it kinda made sense after that, I don't see why commiting g*nocide would make her any into him, makes sense for it to be a turn off.

Peak fiction the moment anr dropped Armin now doesn’t thank Eren for genociding 80% of the world, Eren actually knows what he wants, Eren is now a consistent character like how he was in season 4 truly something that Isayama cannot deliver and most of all Historia isnt sidelined and her character doesnt revert back into christa. Jokes aside, this is way better than what Isayama went with. Eren had a plan. He was going to win. All of Paradi's enemies would be gone. Paradi and all its inhabitants would be okay. Problem solved. Eren would get Freedom for all his friends just like he wanted.
And before anyone says anything, no. There was no will they or won't they with Eren x Mikasa. At best, it was a one sided bond. Historia understood what Eren really wanted because she hates humanity just as much as he did.
So, no. There is a point to what Isayama intially planned before he changed his mind at the last minute. It's not about, "eReN wAs An EvIl pSyChOpAtH" or "a SlAvE tO fReEdOm". People are a slave to things to because finding freedom comes with a cost. That's the point. For Eren, it was either genocide or let all his friends die to let the cycle of hatred needlessly continue. And Isayama being too indecisive, chose the latter. How is that better? Trick question, it's not.

You misunderstood the point, even if eren succeeded and paradis no longer had enemies, far into the future wars will still be waged and paradis will still be destroyed.
Keep in mind that future paradis (2000+ years) is a completely different society now, and shares nothing common culturally with the paradis we know.
The ending of series is talking about the cycle of violence, that war and conflict are in human nature, and no matter what happens, we will continue to tear eachother apart until we're fundamentally extinct.
Back to eren, the reason why eren is such a beautifully written character is because his goals remain the same throughout the whole series, which is the protection of his friends and comrades. When he sees the future he faces 2 options, allowing the destruction of paradis and thus letting his friends die, or to destroy the world that opposes paradis island and allowing his friends to live.
He chooses the latter, but keeps 20% of humanity because the jeagerists still consider mikasa and armin as traitors and would have them executed
Eren is not a hero, he said it himself, he was given an enormous amount of power and he used it for selfish reasons...

Eren doesn't care about paradis or eldians in general. He only cares about protecting those closest to him, something he accomplished after the rumbling, as armin and the rest lived out the rest of their lives in peace.
No matter how impactful your actions may be, you can't end all human conflict for the rest of eternity. Eren knew the rumbling is a temporary solution, he still went along with it so his friends can survive.

To me, I followed AoT manga and anime since 2013. Paid a lot of money for manga volumes and blu-rays for years, I deserved to see a better ending than this as a consumer.
