I wish food at convenience stores in the US looked like the food there. It always looks thrown together here.

Though I had been to the US, I found food at 7-11 is so boring 🥱, but if you buy hot meals at SAFEWAY , they have better options.

I've read that 7-11 USA is currently trying to get a supply chain in place to start modeling the Japanese 7-11's food quality. I'm guessing it'll still be American food.

Thank you for the review. I've been wondering about the egg salad sandwich myself whenever I'm in Japan but never compared them. It's really easy to eat, unlike sourdough. Although I wish the egg sandwich had either lettuce or grilled zucchini for a bit of crunch! 😋

The Lawson egg sandwich is popular with foreigners because Anthony Bourdain revealed it to be his “guilty pleasure” when in Japan. So it became well known to his large eternal fan base. Personally, I have always preferred the Family Mart version, which used to be the cheapest too. But they are all good and I eat a lot of them when in Japan as they are great as a light meal.
I also wonder how universal the taste comparison actually is. The big convenience stores have a number of regional suppliers: the fresh food items are not all made in Kanto and then shipped to all stores throughout Japan.

Absolutely JEALOUS! 🇺🇲 doesn't have the variety or quality over the board at 7/11 type marts but if you stop at these mega marts where semi trailers stop, you'll be amazed with some great foodie centric items and restaurants. I know Japan has these mega marts as well on their freeway equivalent stops for folks driving large vehicles, tour busses etc. 🌞

Oh Shinichi and Satoshi I really love curry and I also love making it and there is a Japanese store in Utah that me and my son and his dad drive to it and get these small boxes of Vermont Curry that is made in Japan and it is so delicious and I always put in hamburger, potatoes, carrots and onions and the spices in these are so tasty and all of our favorites, and also add the rice with it and I really love that curry so much, I do love a delicious curry. Chicken Katsu is also one of my favorites and I also have cooked that, there is also this eating place called Mobetta's that has the food from Hawaii and they have the Katsu chicken and terriyaki chicken and shrimp and a few other kinds of meats, it has really delicious food. Gosh I really love seeing all of your great videos they are so fun to watch and see so much delicious food. I know when we go to that Japanese store there are alot of really great foods that we can get and enjoy alot. Sending love and hugs, bye! 😋🥰😍💕💜💜💜💜💜

I worked at 7-Eleven in Japan, so I might be a little biased, but it's my overall favorite. I also think it has the best price-to-quality ratio. That said, Lawson's chicken is my favorite-highly underrated. Family Mart, on the other hand, is too greasy for my taste.

I wanted to do something similar when I was in Osaka a few weeks back, but for some reason I couldn’t find an egg sando at any family mart. Ended up doing the fried chicken comparison. Family mart wins for me. It’s everything I want from “convenience” fried chicken. Fatty, juicy, flavorful. The seasoning tastes most like KFC to me.

I usually go the the convenience store closest, so most of the time it's 7/11. But when I lived in Yanaka it was the Lawson. That said I think I go to the supermarket most of all. As long as you don't have to heat up food, I think a supermarket is also great for tourists as they have a lot of bento, sweets etc.
There is just one think I always buy at 7/11 and that is the custard waffles😅

This was great fun! I recently watched a Ytb page Kyodokan make a "Japanese Egg Sandwich", Tamago Sando. He is fun to watch but very particular. Sieved and mashed the yolks. He added 1 pt salt, two pt sugar and a special mirin. I'm going to try and make this because I can't get it here. BUT - in searching for him I saw there is video from you guys making it (5 years ago) so I'll have to watch that too. Funny about the curry battle and Lawson winning. I like spicy curry. I've watched several people make this and apple is often added to the sauce. Hello from rainy Oregon US.

Was in Japan September thru November. In cities, country side and coast line northeast. Family Mart is not as common in country rural areas and northeast coastal communities like Lawson's and 7 Eleven. Preferred egg salad sandwich with more filling because price and quality were good match. Cant remember but fid not prefer the fried chicken that tsse like Kentucky. Too greasy. Tuna Onigiri liked best was Family Mart and 7 Eleven thus item was always sold out quick in both. Conclusion all three locations have great food - sandwiches and meals for in the go convenience. I cluding the cucumber, ham, egg salad 3 layers.

Hi guys ,,, question… why is Japanese (not included Tokyo or other big city) emergency room so outdated? I’m sure you have already heard that one famous celebrity from Taiwan died in japan due to lack of medical attention in the emergency room. She died from influenza but the local hospital didn’t want to transfer her to the city hospital at first and many other inconveniences due to her foreigner status. She was 48 years old when she passed away… don’t saving life’s in country such as Japan should be prioritize? A country so modern and convenient yet … how do this happened? I am not asking answer from you guys, I’m just asking if there is any information that you can shared in terms of foreigners checking them into an emergency room that is more countryside.
