Thanks for all the essential info.
Just fonished the final stage, and your video series were very useful in prepping for the route. Wild camped one night in a field under a tarp in Sept!

    Nice explanation, thanks.
I was walking near some of this the other day and spotted a sign for the weald way, which also looks interesting.

Thanks for the comment. I am actually planning to do the Weald Way some time this summer/spring, but might have to be done over a couple of weekends as it is longer.

Great tips, thinking of doing one of these long distance hikes next time I come to the UK. Might be a while with the current situation.

Hello CJ. Great tips for the VGW Thanks. Do you have any main go to web sites to start researching about the walks you're planning. Understand that there could be a myriad and planning is half the fun, but I'm looking for a good stating point(s) e.g. location for water, good map/Apps types to obtain etc.

WalkHighlands or the Long Distance Walkers Association are both good initial resources. After that I use websites specific to trails (if there is one) and OS maps. I'll watch videos about a trail if there are any (there weren't any of the Vanguard Way) to get an idea about it and the terrain etc.
