Wanted to add some adjustments to the early evaluations! First, Veteran's Visage is more playable than I thought. As some of the comments pointed out, the effects works while the character is off-field, which is unusual for artifacts! This means it's easier to get 2 triggers against AoE decks (Superconduct, Electrocharged) and if you have AoE healing (Barbara, Hydro resonance)! It's still niche to certain decks though. Sapwood also isn't always going to be better than LoFI since I overlooked the dice effect here is on play only, where LoFI can keep generating dice round after round. I still think Sapwood could be better for Danemo specifically, but keep using LoFI in combo decks for characters like Ayaka.
@@arielgauss9105 Personally I don't think Gilded itself is the problem, I actually think it's the 0 and 1 cost artifacts that were added plus Yayoi. If it were me I really wouldn't have added those to the game. 0 cost cards are SO dangerous
I'd honestly love to see you be the host/emcee/(I don't know what to call the job😭) for Genshin official TCG tournaments! You have such a calm & friendly voice, AND you're super knowledgeable about the game (you know it in and out!) that I feel like you alone would make tournaments so interesting to watch. Depending on when they release characters like Neuvillette and Furina in the TCG, I can see Veteran's Visage and potentially Marechausse Hunter (depending on what that does) being pretty powerful due to how Neuvillette and Furina's kits in the base game work. Think about it this way: Characters that can heal themselves and also damage themselves are PERFECT for this set, and Furina can do that for the whole team, meaning everyone can equip the artifact set because of the constant HP changing she provides, especially if they release Splendor of Tranquil Waters as a weapon in the TCG. It sounds like a bad card now, but it will likely be very busted later on with the release of more Fontaine characters, I just think Neuvillete and Furina stand to benefit the most, with MAYBE Wriothesley, Lyney, and Lynette also benefitting from the card, but not nearly as much.
That's a great point - Fontaine characters have more mechanics to take self DMG or heal - like Lyney or Lynette, so these cards are better suited for them for sure! I didn't think about that. So yeah we may see these cards shine more later on as more characters are released
No Gilded Lyresong nerf hurts my very soul. I don't know if I can do a second rainbow meta Veterans Visage may be really good with Lyney since he already triggers Vourukasha's with his summon skill. Meaning this could discount that skill to a virtual 2 while drawing the card when they return the damage. This also being 2 unaligned could find a home as a 1 of in a Yayoi package imo.
Definitely and interesting decision. I do think its strong but could be a bit overrated on terms of overall power. I still think the problem is more the card draw and Yayoi, but we'll see next patch
@@blepthecatYayoi is definitely incredibly strong for the value she gives. The potential Gilded nerf I'd like to see is draw limited to 1 per round and Lyresong increased to a cost of 1 since artifacts present more utility than weapons currently.
I personally think Gilded will remain the way it is. It's best as a rainbow deck card which seems to create more variety for team comps! If anything, maybe specifically with the Lyre Song that it can only be played once per round, sort of like how IHLY works
Definitely that's the way this card should be played. I've been saying that for 3 weeks now. Probably I'll be saying that for the next few weeks tho... 😭😭😭
Luckily the power difference in cards is low, so there's only so far they can creep and they won't ever completely break the game... but yeah they've had to nerf a lot of new cards
Well, since Gilded Lyresong wasn't nerfed too much (just the Vorukasha hit lol...), will we get a TCG 101 video on card engines? Stuff like why the engine works and pros/cons of the different kinds (food engine, artifact engine, Tubby engine, and also seems like a companion engine will be usable with the new Jeht and Sunyata cards coming)
Interesting idea! These things still do change very quickly and I prefer to make sure TCG 101's are more general and won't become out of date as new cards are added or adjusted. This topic would be in the general idea of synergy which honestly isn't too deep of a topic. I like the idea though but I'll have to think how to work it into a lesson. I also have a backlog of 101's to do since January ended up being a bit of a blank on video content haha. Thanks for the suggestion!
I have a strong feeling that Fontaine resonance card will be centered around HP manipulation. Maybe something like : Heal all characters for 1 HP. At the end of the turn, Deal 1 Piercing to characters with HP at least 6.
I wonder if Melus & Silver will be synergistic with Navia, mainly because Navia has a trait where you want at least two non GEO characters in her party.
That artifact can actually be good Cause it works offield I tried it out with dehya and you basically get a free die whenever the opponent attacks I also faced a superconduct deck and they were basically giving me 2 free dice every round
Yeah I totally missed the off-field activation part, I got too used to things only working on-field. I think that does make it more playable than I gave it credit for
Thanks for the nice summary. I'm a bit sad about Vourukasha's glow but I was pretty shocked at how strong it was for such low cost. I'll see if my current set ups can still use it. I guess I wish it would heal off field character once every other round or maybe always take priority so that the other player's summons can't KO your card first. I'm still not the best at doing the gilded magic thing because I was out of the tcg scene for a while (I only play against the npcs though :')) and still forget to use my arcane cards sometimes, but I'm lowkey glad they haven't changed it (yet) since it's a nice bonus for those running rainbow decks. I really enjoy having Layla in my Haitham deck and at least having Sumeru res, but it's frustrating not having the resonance access side note for anyone reading but which electro character is best with Haitham?

Honestly, I think the stove nerf indirectly impacts magic dice. You need to draw a lot of cards to make that engine work and stove made that easier. The one round delay on stove's effect will probably be somewhat impactful for magic dice, which already felt really unreliable to me. I honestly hardly ran it last update because, if you drew your cards in the wrong order, it felt horrible to me to play as you were effectively stuck with a bunch of cards that were good for nothing but tuning (never did I feel so annoyed to draw a Gambler's early...). The card draw was also bad if you drew the cards out of order, because they combo into each other, meaning what I needed was constantly trapped in the deck (ideal combo was Dunyazard > Timeaus > Yayoi & Gilded, which is too much to ask for...). Gilded's card draw is also worse than Liben in practice, even though it was technically better in theory. Stove helps fix that. If I draw Moonpiercer before Wagner, that's fine. If I draw Lyre song before Gilded, then I had better pray Gilded isn't planning to grief me.
It's a pretty good point. I still think what makes Magic good isn't Gilded itself but the card draw, so making Guoba worse may affect the engine as a whole. Will have to see!
