- The Hanunoos are one of the 8 Mangyan groups in Mindoro. They’re mostly known for their rich culture, script, ambahan poems, and their tribal symbol known as pakudos which signify unity.

i'm glad i was fully born in oriental mindoro ( province of roxas and i'm mangyan origins and i'm glad of my writing system called buhid and hanunuo too i hope in manila writing system called baybayin would be revived so i could write 3 writing system called buhid, hanunuo and baybayin but write now im writing buhid and hanunuo....
very cool that they preserved this. i hope more filipinos learn, support and protect surat mangyan ❤️

And so for this means not vanish, this needs to be preserved and be passed on also to the younger generations .Salute to the teacher who takes the challenge and beats the odds to advocate preservation of such Surat Mangyan

Where we can buy textbooks to learn the script and the language. I’m from oriental Mindoro pero i dont know how to speak the language. It’s so sad na ang baba ng tingin ng mga taga Mindoro sa mga ninunong mangyan. Ever since tuwing nakikita ko silang bumababa ng bayan at namamasko or ask for bigas naawa ako kse yung iba they don’t treat them like normal Filipinos, actually they’re more Filipino than the Filipinos today.

@@arch.remleelavuap9290 no..it is not...every ancient writing system in the Philippines is based off of the austronesian writings... just look at Indonesia's sundanese writing which looks almost identical to this one....every Filipino writing system is also an abugida type writing (consonant-vowel "ᜊ=ba ᜊᜒ=be/bi ᜊᜓ=bo/bu) which is used in southeast asian writing systems proving our strong relations with our neighbors for centuries...stop believing in fake news and changing our history just to suit your own preference and beliefs.
@@arch.remleelavuap9290 Christianity was introduced to us by the Spaniards, we had no relations with much of middle east and our main traders back then was south, east and southeast asia. We probably didnt even know Israel existed that time. These are pre-colonial culture that our ancestors developed which gives it a very very very low chance it couldve derived from hebrew.
