Good job, my father sang this as his last song to my mother on his dying bed, i still can't bring myself to singing it as a tribute to both my parents, mom passed away 8 montgs after dad.
I searched for this song after watching a movie called "Bad Day For The Cut" and it was the parting soundtrack. Love love this !!! Lots slower than Hank Williams version. Old Willie Nelson sang it too but I think I like this version the best!
There must be 50 or more versions of this song on TH-cam, but this is by far the best! Tempo, vocal, guitar solo are all just right and easily set the gold standard for the song. Hank Williams eat your heart out.
Nu har jag rankat denhär låten som den som berört mig mest av allt jag lyssnat på 💗 Framförandet av denne man,,,gör att inga ord räcker till,,, Thanks So Much 💗🌹💗🌹/Love from Helene in Sweden 🌹
Jonathan Beedle's vocals are mesmerizing. It made the hairs on the back of my neck sit up and take notice. IMO, with Mike Stengel on lead guitar and vocals, makes this the best recording of this old standard. Thank you.
Someday you'll call my name and I won't answer Someday you'll reach for me I won't be there For you've grown tired of all the love I gave you But someday you'll wish that I still care All of these years how I have loved you Still I know I claimed you for my own Someday you'll call my name and I won't answer For someday you'll find yourself alone When your hair has turned from gold to silver And your eyes are dimmed by passing years You'll remember, darling what I told you There will be no one then to dry your tears There'll come a time in your life, dear When you'll need someone who will care Someday you'll call my name and I won't answer For someday you'll find that I'm not there
I'd love to hear this man sing There is a Time by the Dillards. Not bluegrass like they sing, but as a sweet ballad. Andy Griffith did a couple of lines of it that way in one of the episodes of his show, but I still can't find anywhere where someone sang it like that.
I`ve just been listening to Willy Nelsons version of this song. Then I heard yours!! Much as I love Willy Nelson, your version is excellent.I love it! Anymore where that came from?
This is pert near perfect. The voice, the flawless, understated lead guitar, the sparse harmony. Beautiful.
This is a beautiful rendition of this song ,I don’t think anyone sings it better

I'm 5 yrs. late but it doesn't matter. Talent needs to be recognized no matter how long it takes. Beautiful Gentleman.

Someday you'll call my name and I won't answer
Someday you'll reach for me I won't be there
For you've grown tired of all the love I gave you
But someday you'll wish that I still care
All of these years how I have loved you
Still I know I claimed you for my own
Someday you'll call my name and I won't answer
For someday you'll find yourself alone
When your hair has turned from gold to silver
And your eyes are dimmed by passing years
You'll remember, darling what I told you
There will be no one then to dry your tears
There'll come a time in your life, dear
When you'll need someone who will care
Someday you'll call my name and I won't answer
For someday you'll find that I'm not there
