Also, seems I missed the one and only 2ne1 when talking about YG's girl groups, and regarding the writing of songs very cool to see that all YG artists are encouraged and taught to write.
Lastly, even though there were very few parts of performances cut out, this of course due to copyright reasons, do please keep in mind that if you'd like to see the full performance go show the girls all the love in the official videos, we cannot be a replacement for that.

But I can also understand people in the comments as looks like you are the only reaction channel who cut the performances to avoid the copyright strike... Both are right in their own way 🙂
The crazy part is that we have to take in consideration that most of these videos were not recent but about 2/3 years ago. Made for monthly evaluations to basically judge them as trainees. So I can’t even imagine how much they have improved to eventually be part of the debut line up. If you also watch their introduction videos, you can see that they were encouraged to write/compose their own lyrics which they also performed in front of their mentors. So these girls are for sure only going bigger.

Almost every trainee in YG learns how to write their lyrics, if you ever watched their survival programs they show it a lot
Efra here ✌🏼. Waleska actually mentioned this to me off camera, perhaps you know the answer to this, if they know how to write why don't they write more of their comebacks ? Perhaps there is a good logic behind this, regardless interesting topic, means a lot that you took the time to watch. Thanks bud
@@efraherrera9409 there has been a few of the previous YG Artists like Gummy and Lee Hi that mentioned their submitted written and proposed songs for a comeback but were rejected. This may be the reason, tho not so sure. That's what I just remembered from the interviews I watched from them.
@@efraherrera9409 lot of YG artists do write their own comebacks though!! Groups like WINNER and AKMU heck even BIG BANG has always self-composed their own comebacks and albums. There’s a saying about YG..they are more about the quality of music than quantity. I feel it is more YG management or the ones who are involved with planning the comebacks/releases. For sure YG artists who are known for composing their own music has all the music ready to put out..unfortunately it is not within their power to release it without the green line from management. That has always been one of the downsides of being a fan of YG artists in general. Sometimes hiatus last 2-4 years because “music quality”. But we also have to understand artists are also perfectionists too and they want to make sure their putting out their best work without rushing or pressure on it. There’s always two sides of this and I understand both.
As for BABY MONSTER, I know there is probably 2 or 3 members that have the ability to write and even compose their own music and lyrics/raps. Maybe they will be able to contribute to lyrics and maybe soon their own composed songs in the future. It’s the same thing with TREASURE, a good amount of members are talented in lyrics and composing. They got to be credited for their rap or songs that got put in their albums.
As for BP, they have a main producer aka TEDDY. He’s usually doing their music, but the members themselves are capable and talented to write their own lyrics and possibly compose their own songs as well.
Every YG artists have different situations and some has the freedom to compose their own songs and albums. However, it is not them who make the final decisions about comebacks or debuts.. that’s all YGE management right there.
@@efraherrera9409 I don't know the reason but jennie for example has talked before about participating in the song Stay on a video before and that part has been taken down by the company.she also said she participated in her Solo but she has no credits on it. it has been a thing with yg girl groups Even 2ne1 there was time where i think cl didn't get credited for participating in songs. Same with blackpink, maybe if they did participate in a song it wouldn't fit the vibe of the group that's why they mostly work with their in house producers. But one thing for sure is i think the company dosen't prefer it. I hope things will change with the new group

ALL YG Artists have written songs, raps and choreograph since they are trainees, it's just that YG haven't officially credited them throughout. Also if you watch BM futher you'll see they as well write their raps esp. ASA and RUKA
YG literally told their trainees to compose/write lyrics especially for the rappers. It's just sad that they don't have the freedom to write lyrics when they are debuted, well as for their female idols though but they allowed their male idols to write.

Truth is they have been writing their own stuff both of the rappers and Asa wrote a full song. Is shown in their introductory videos. So am sure they will let them write their stuff. And Ruka also wrote her own lyrics for the Gwoala performance
no, I don't think so just because they write in their assesment doesn't mean they will write in their debut. that's another area where YG is very controlling. It didn't happen with CL and we know they also wrote their rap parts for evaluation assessments too
@@Vengurl09 That's true though but the table can turn this time around cause they have been doing it for their boy groups and happened with CL she actually received credit for producing some of the songs so we will just have to wait and see.

Just like what happened to BP. But right now that they can stand on their own, has a strong fandom and doesn't depends on some casual listeners like when they debut..they have more freedom. Debut years are the most critical years in kpop. Your songs can make you or break you..
@@rosiepasta302 I mean is has been implied in their interviews that bp had been more involved in some of the lyrics but YGE doesn't necessarily give them writing credits. Not only with bp it was known that Hanbin from Ikon partially participated in the writing of whistle and it wasn't given credit only unitl much later when ikoncs were complaining. My point is that YG doesn't always give that much freedom in the lyrics maybe it has to do with royalties. Sure, here they are showing some baemon monsters writing but this is something most YG trainees did during evaluations here they are showing the process they didn't show for other Yg groups.

The most hyped these days is Chiquita because she was being compared to Lisa. It's really a privilege to be compared to Lisa coz she has been hyped a lot!

FYI, Idols Writing and Composing of their Own Songs became a Thing in K-pop When G-Dragon Won Multiple Awards on his Written/Composed Songs. So Basically this Trend in K-pop started in YG. All singers/Groups in YG can Write/Composed a Song. It's Just YG is So picky when releasing a Song. Even Love Scenario was rejected Twice before. There are Tons of Unreleased Songs that Composed by YG Artist. And it's a Must that a Rapper will Write their Own Verse. The reason why a Lot of Fans wondering why BP didn't.

About writing as we known from each member introduction clip. Ruka did write lyrics and Asa was starting to make her own song as composer & lyricists.
So I think YG has changed policy on that and may let’s Baemon touch more on productions just like Treasure.
Last but not least you guys skipped Rora performance and she is my favorite vocalist of the label now.
On asa's introduction video, they're instructed to write their own songs.
Treasure Rappers write their own verse... In the introduction video of ASA, we can see that YG is now letting their trainee write their own rap song...
17:03 Magnum was also supposed Treasure13's (Treasure now) japan sub-unit name. Treasure13 has 2 sub-units (Treasure 7 will promote in Korea and Magnum 6 in japan) but when yoonbin left Treasure13, they made it to TREASURE.

Bigbang popularize producing/writing their own songs for kpop groups. YG is known for letting their artists have freedom when it comes to music. Bigbang, Winner, Akmu and ikon are self produced groups. Their gg's are encouraged too and does write pre debut but the problem is after they debuted. They don't get as much freedom to write unlike their bg's. That's where misogynistic comes into the pic.
YG really encourage their trainees to do their own stuffs, Treasure for exemplo, all the raps in their songs were made by their own rappers
I've watched dozens of reactions to the Baby Monster evaluations/introductions and have not heard of any copyright strikes, even when they show them uncut. I wonder why.
Your reactions are cool since you look at the particulars from such a panoramic understanding.
I would be amazed if YGE showed us all this potential in the members and then didn't let it be reflected in the concept of the group. YG himself makes clear in his comments that he is excited about unleashing it on the world. These introductions are a statement of things to come, not of the potential that they now plan to suppress.
I also felt that YG will not strike them for copyright . They are introducing the group and encouraging people to judge them There are times that YG even called reactors to react to some of their videos.
Efra here ✌🏼. YG was very cool about it, it was actually a problem with the owners of the original songs as they were covers, TH-cam's copyright system is very weird at times and so many companies can take advantage, I know this can be super annoying as a viewer, I once again apologize, and hope at least you could enjoy some of our input
@Efra Herrera gotcha, and I recognize that what you do here is unique so you have to be extra careful. I think the companies are shooting themselves in the foot when they copyright reactors, who are promoting the music in ways that the companies never could. Remember when they briefly took down Lisa's The Movie for using Destiny Rogers's Tomboy? Destiny had to throw a fit because Lisa's use drove Destiny's career to a whole new level. That use in The Movie was a different circumstance, the point in common is that well done covers really promote the original artists.
Just another thing that's messed up about the system.

For someone who says “it has yg written all over it”, i think you should also know that yg groups write / contribute to their music.
Bigbang was actually the group that made self-producing a thing in kpop. All yg groups after bigbang have been contributing to their music, whether lyrics or the production. It’s not so prominent in bp before but theyve been trained to write their own rap. They also have credits in their full albums.
This is still true to this day with the new era, Treasure and Babymonster. Treasure writes their own songs and some baemon members have been writing their own rap and song as well (in the introduction videos).
I just thought you should know these stuff too since you seem to know “YG typical signs”

So far in YG, BP is the only group that rarely produce their own song.

1. magnum was supposed to be Treasure’s unit name. Blackpink’s was pink punk actually😂
2. You missed out 2NE1 (but I saw you already mentioned in the comment)
3. Idol song writing started from YG because of GD that started it then other idols started writing their own music so YG trainees are all trained to write their own lyrics and almost all artists in YG write their own lyrics except Blackpink that weren’t given much chances (even though they managed to release a few songs with their own lyrics). But if you watch their introduction video you can see Ruka & Asa writing their own lyrics/raps too.
4. Not all trainees started at the same time. Chiquita was the last to join back in 2021 if I remember correctly so she was 11?

FYI watch the introduction videos of each baemon and ull see that Asa produce her own songs and that rap is her own. YG artists are required to write songs as many as they can per week ( base on Bigbang and 2ne1 interview. Treasures new album is 90% self produced and even way before they already write their own lyrics esp the rappers.
And correction Blackpink isnt supposed to be Magnum but Pink punk. Magnum is Treasure 13 2nd unit before it was combined

Babymonster now living in very high expectation from mostly kpop fans, as u know they're the sixth girlgroup made and to be debuted by YG but their senior having very big name in Korea or internationally. 2ne1 is YG's 3rd girlgroup and become one of the biggest girlgroup in the 2nd generation and then Blackpink, a group that holds title as the biggest girlgroup in the world. back then, when Blackpink plans to debut, they also holds very high expectation as the next girlgroup to be debuted by YG after 2NE1 and yeah they became very successful. now history repeat, in some reason people talk about Babymonster having their seniors shadow. me personally after watching those videos and their personal introducing videos, also heard their seniors and mentors opinion about their talent, i have high expectation toward them. hopefully they can do their best and fulfill our expectation because i realized that girlgroup in this generation are scary and of course, people will talk a lot about their debut because they come from very highly company and junior from such a big name in kpop industry.
Dance performance is definitely from 2 years old, don't know about other videos.
They were 10 members divided into two groups of five, for monthly evaluations. That's why you don't see other two, who are really good at dancing too.
I assuming they will release a 7 member dance performance video just before the debut to increase hype.

BABYMONSTER didn't debut immediately because at that time 2019 - 2022 was the explosion of new 4th gen groups (ITZY, aespa, NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, NMIXX, etc.), it is unethical to debut your upcoming group with that kind on booming groups, i think YG is a genius to just not let BLACKPINK's successor to just release themselves, it needed time and quality to train your upcoming child to the nation, especially coming from a YG ENTERTAINMENT, a strict and geniune company. Yang Hyun Suk really is strict in selecting the members. at first i think it is a trick to gain popularity to say debuting 5 only where u already introduced the OG 7 members. plus, this is the only way for YG to break free from the previous GG, 2NE1 vs BP issues, finally BAEMON performs their seniors hit songs without doubt and fear from crazy netizens who pushed the 2NE1vsBP issues. that's why i think BAEMON is scary, cause they will obliterate every existing 4th gen GG one song at a time.

everything you are say about rappers writing there own lyrics. YG coaches are pushing the girls to do everything you are suggesting. if you watch the next version of the BabyMonster Introducing clips, it goes more into the girls behind the scenes.
and Chiquita is the Shooting Star of the group. other members have about 4-5 years of training, but Chiquita is 14 now, she has less then 2 years training and already equal to the other members, vocally, and dancing. YG mentions this in her Introduction clip. she is the youngest, with the least amount to training, but already allowed to position herself in the center of the chorea dance shows she is fearless and just pure talent at this young age.
and you also said it, YG is masters at the pre debut game. YG is bringing awareness to the new group, and there are millions of views for each clip them reveal, the BabyMonster channel also has millions of subscriptions already. So YG should be confident when he drops the debuts, the group will have a successful promotion and will not be a one hit wonder like so many groups in the past.
