I'm Thapar University passout of 2019 batch and I must say you have presented an accurate review on Thapar unlike other TH-camrs who just read Quora answers and make videos. As per my experience i could like to clarify some points:
1. About Drugs: As an aspiring student you must accept the fact the drugs are done in every college, even in IIT's. But no one will ever force you to do them! In my 4 years experience i never felt like Thapar should be famous for drugs. Rules are strict and it all happens in close circles, you will never know if you don't want to know.
2. Infrastructure: I must say Thapar has one of the best infra in India. I was lucky to have stayed in Hostel M for 2 years and it really feels like a 5 star hotel and worth the money. Govt colleges are nowhere near Thapar when it comes to infrastructure. Those who are in North India must visit the campus themselves to judge if you don't believe.
3. Hostels: First year hostels that you were complaining about are old hostels. But i have my best memories there because you share room with 3 others and they become your best friends for life. New hostels are good and they have single rooms but you feel more isolated. You will for sure miss the old hostels then. Food is the best. Those parathas with butter will make you fat in no time!

@@hifipanda9360 Mechanical department used to be the flagship branch of Thapar before the computer science boom. It still has professors of that era so teaching is very good . Also this department has the largest number of labs & workshops on the campus. If your target is to go for placements in core mechanical companies, keep your cgpa above 8.5 as jobs are less in this field nowadays.

Bro, a suggestion. Please also cover non tech and core sector placements. Many people are not interested in tech placements. Also cover the culture of people cracking various exams like CAT, Gate, UPSC, and culture to do masters abroad.

Why did you not take admission in Thapar and chose DTU over it? Which branch sid you choose in DTU? Does that mean that DTU should be preferred over Thapar? What should I prefer if I get mechanical in DTU and Computers science in Thapar, patiala campus? I am from Delhi
What did you choose bro? Btw he is biotechnology in DTU. Besides he probably didn't choose thapar because of fees.

@@techboy8330 No, DTU is no where counted in tier 1 college in India...but yeah it is a good college and being in Delhi, it is valued much...but its overall NIRF ranking is 63 and in engineering, its NIRF ranking is 35 so, people may have perception as DTU being tier 1 but it is not

2 months online fir exams aur pese lene ke liye college bulaate hain . Fir covid cases badh gaye aisa naatak karte hain aur ghar bhejte hain. Fir 3 months online classes aur baad me offline ke liye college bulaate hain . Online offline hi khelte rahe pure saal , aur koi kaam nahi hai kya humaare paas 😭😭😭. 1-2 hafta to packing aur aane jaane me lagta hai aur usme bhi naatka karte hain ki college ke bahar nahi jaane denge.
Are agar college ke bahar nahi jaane doge to ghar kaise jaayenge aur ghar nahi jaayenge to room khaali karne ko bola kyon? Nonsense 😭😭

Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology is one of the best institutes for pursuing an btech admission . Thapar University is a very well reputed private college being established in the year 1956 and has completed 60 yrs of existence. The environment of the college is very very liberal nearly no restrictions on the students on the dress code, freedom to travel,24/7 library it works more or less like a government college.

I faced the same situation during college admission . Was sitting in dtu spot round deliberately between chemical at dtu vs coe at thapar. I chose coe at thapar. You reflect how my life would have been had i decided otherwise 😂

I study in JU Kolkata(1st yr).Yeah drugs & mostly ganja is done in hostels.But there is no pressure to do all this staff if u don't want.
Regarding study environment, u get lots of freedom as u can give exams even if your attendence is
