@@wellfedced i seem to hear "hope you brought warm clothes" at the start menu whenever i load the game without skipping the intro ... playing on original ps2
I could be wrong, but I feel like SSX pioneered the idea of dynamically layering tracks within a song depending on the situation - starting with the first SSX and starting with the actual main menu. Everything you did in the original SSX franchise (1, 2, and 3), influenced the music in some way.
Hell, one of the songs for Mesablanca uses only part of Bass Invaders, while the options Menu and Character Select used other parts of the song themself.
EA Sports BIG doesnt exist anymore. Plus all the songs and voice actors would have to be reworked, licensed etc. Closest to a remaster your going to get is the PS2 emulator with enhancements. It did it couple years ago, still great experience
+GuillaumeGamer Any idea what he is doing anymore? SSX Tricky is easily the best SSX game. The pacing, style, excitement and music fit perfectly. I doubt we will ever see a SSX game better than SSX Tricky. It seems the bigger the electronic beats, the better the game.
+Jason Rasmussen I can never find a lot of info on him but he did a little music for SSX 3, a song from that he also used in Mass Effect 2 which he did the night club music for. They did a DLC for the 2012 SSX game that added the old songs and some new ones by him but other than that I don't know. I'm guessing he works at EA? Who knows, we might see some more from him in the new Mass Effect.
+rosie the rivethead His big beat style was exactly what I was looking for in the early 2000's. While SSX3 had some good music, it just wasn't the same as Tricky and only went downhill (pun intended) from there. Luckily there are artists out there making big beats. “Welcome to SSX Tricky. This is going to be fun.”
What a fucking understatement.
Welcome to SSX Tricky. Hope you brought warm clothes.
SSX Tricky i hope you're ready
This is gonna be very, very interesting.
I always say this one but I’ve only heard it once when I was a kid and haven’t heard it on any of my playthroughs since!

Playing this on a PS2 emulator with enhancements in FullHD is reliving my childhood as I remember it. One of the best games on the PS2!
Before EA Sports became too BIG for their own good.
Never realized that they took certain sounds of this song and used them as UI elements. Sorta ties in the song with the menu itself, very smart
I did realize, and it confused the hell o it of my a couple times when I heard the sound effects out of place lol

It wasn't the first by any means, but certainly one of the greatest examples of game audio

Completely agree I though the same recently
i think one of the actual pioneers is need for speed II on PS1? anyone knows of any earlier game?

I really wish there was a remastered version of this game
They lost almost all datas, pretty impossible to have a remastered version

Sad there can’t be. I’d pay big bucks for that.
