Vol'dun has a beautiful soundtrack. One of the best in the expansion. But as a Horde player, when I first went to Tirgarde Sound, it was at night. And there was a stunning cello piece playing, I stopped and listened, it just captivated me. Think I'm just drawn to string heavy pieces in the WoW universe. Eversong woods, Grizzly Hills etc. Only one that tops any string pieces is Storm Peaks.
What I love about this is that it sets the mood quite brilliantly. Literally feels like you're an exile trudging across the expansive wastes of the desert, hopping from ruin to ruin in search of shelter and supplies. Just a sublime track.
@@Aggrofool They are scavengers seeking shelter amongst the dunes that's why It's called vulpera hideaway they're hiding away from the monsters that lurk the sands
Vol'dun was the first zone I visited, and when I heard this amazing music, I stopped running around, turned the volume up and listened. The whole place has a fantastic atmosphere, especially at night.
Sounds so overwhelmingly depressing (especially the violin parts), but yet, like there's a tiny glimmer of hope that you will make it to live another day... Magnificent job again, Blizzard.
I still listen to this soundtrack sometimes, even if it's been 2 expacs ago already. I mute the Dragonflight background and just open youtube or Spotify and let it play. Especially when I do some dailies, it helps.
"*sighs* No one deserves dis fate....." hearing that and this soundtrack in the background made me realise how much a game makes me feel and quite honestly, how tired I am of constant suffering and genocides within wow. but alas, it's the way that let's wow add more lore to its story.
This soundtrack of Vol'dun captures the same atmosphere & immersion that the soundtrack for Unreal (1998) and Unreal Mission Pack I - Return to Na Pali (1999) did, it's absolutely mesmerizing. To put it simply; it just makes the place feel like it could be a real location in our universe.
Think Voldun and Grizzly hills are my favorite soundtracks. Im a violinist. Tried to learn the grizzly hills tune. Seems easy but actually hard to pull it off with all the rythmic accents
Only three zones in the entirity of this game have made me cry: Eversong Woods, The Grizzly Hills, and Vol'dun. And they were all tears of joy, tears of awe and pure adoration.
I was litening to this on TH-cam while doing a chill ride in Kalimdor, seeing what Azeroth has been through (The Cataclysm and Legion massacre) while listening to this OST just make you feel the pain and sorrow and affliction caused to this amazing world
The music and atmosphere of this zone is awesome. I completed the zone without using a mount to make the desert feel bigger. One of my favorite zones. Excellent job here blizzard
I'm currently writing up a fanfic about an orc exile forced out into the sands of Durotar and this music is literally perfect for the theme and tone I wanted to set. Desperate, forlorn, repentant, guilt weighing on their shoulders as they trudge through the sands of a harsh and unforgiving desert sun...
I've always felt this music very dear to me but as I learned that my father has died last night, it'll forever haunt me and remind me of him. Rest in peace, Father. :( May you find shade under the Vol'dun sun...
Entire world must hear this piece at least once. It has potential to be famous if played as orchestra in concerts. Now totally underrated just because my grandpa doesn't play WoW.
gstar9 Voldun’s the only area I loved leveling in for BFA, the aesthetic to it and storyline was perfect, the others have let me down, hopefully the new zones might be as good
I really dont understand why they didnt put the whole soundtrack on spotify. There are only like 2-3 minute cuts from the music, that dont even show the full potential of the ost.
Anyone else that got Gothic 3 vibes while playing in the desert here? I doubt it as it's a rather locally known game but a few friends felt the same :D
“Dolly and Dot are my best friends, they pull my wagon through dunes of sand. They’ve got big teeth and they like to eat. They're the best 'pacas in all the land."
Ilya Botsarov me too, this is one of my favourite soundtracks from WoW alongside that one song from Vortex Pinnacle, most of the music in Teldrassil & Quel’Thalas, Arthas’ theme and Nightsong
I dont like BFA system like the random drop of PvP gear or the Artifact power and talents in the items, random trigger spells and buffs... but the music is Awesome
Anyone know that instrument played at 12:50?? Its the same instrument used in Zul'drak zone during WotLK and I can't find out what it is. Not sure if its a flute or string instrument or just some type of sound effect in FL studio or something.
You may ask, how do you make a soundtrack for a land that was once fertile and beautiful and booming with trading and people, but then turned into a wasteland? This, this is how.

Kinda hard to top that spooky drustvar sound. But this is a close 2nd

Stormsong valley’s and tirigarde sound’s music is better imo but this is so good as well

Exactly my thoughts.
You said it. This track is musical storytelling at its best.
Until you see adorable uwu foxes

any idea which instruments ? the one that comes in at 3:25 is something i've never heard before

It sounds like an aftermath of a war to me a.k.a mythrax vs sethralis
@@marwansherif8965 Agreed, it really fits the theme so well.

That zone felt kind of small, but the atmosphere is nicely constructed, feels like gorgrond and uldum crossover.

Listening to this while doing gold tusk inn questline, feels like I am creating some hope for this land, finally some lighthearted place.
Blizzard did such an amazing job with the music this time. Same goes for the Lore, Voice Acting & Cinematics.
Somehow, Blizzard manages to give me goosebumps all over my body...

Such a good track.
0:18-0:24 That violin gives the song quite a distinctive flavor. Almost seems like there's a second verse to it that never comes though.
It reminds me so, so much of the Corel Prison music from FF7. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

“Dolly and Dot are my best friends, they pull my wagon through dunes of sand. They’ve got big teeth and they like to eat.
They're the best 'pacas in all the land."
Blizz has sure fucked up WoW hard over the years but.. the music they make still remains beautiful.

Music brought to you from Coral Prison circa Final Fantasy 7.

Did you know: Vol'dun is pronounced "Vol-dune"
Blizzard's art and music teams' shoulders must hurt real bad from carrying the dogshit systems and gameplay teams for so long
I'm in vol'dun right now alot as my demon hunter blood elf because I want to unlock the vulpera allied race
