Dance Mom's Chloe Lukasiak Gets Emotional Over Abby Lee Miller 'Trauma' (Exclusive)

- 'Dance Moms' star Chloe Lukasiak gets emotional as she chats with ET's Rachel Smith about the reunion special. The dancer reflects on her 'trauma' from her time on the show, and how the rivalry Abby Lee Miller manufactured between her and Maddie Ziegler impacted her self esteem. Chloe says she and Maddie and still close friends and she is 'like a sister' to her. 'Dance Moms: The Reunion' premieres May 1 on Lifetime.
Note how she says "I can't speak for her" when referring to Maddie's experience. Jojo should take notes.

Exactly! Compared to the ogs , she was there for 2 seasons and the ogs were there even before the show started. So she can’t even speak on someone else’s story and experience .

Deep down inside, Abby hated Chloe the most because she knew Chloe was the one who could compete on same level as her fav Maddie.
I always thought Abby hated Chloe because she hated her mother Christi so much.
Abby hated Christi and when Abby doesn’t like the parent, she takes it out on the kid. Abby was wrong for that. Through it all these kids still loved and looked up to her for her approval.

Chloe was always my favorite. She was such a sweet, innocent and talented kid...it's too bad that Abby insisted on braking her and Paige down.

You could tell by Jojo’s reaction that she wasn’t agreeing with Chloe, and that she’s still defensive of Abby no matter what.

She nods her head in agreement, makes Positive comments, etc. I experienced that Jojo was def agreeing with Chloe on most of her conversation. fr Her serious "resting" face is her listening hard, respectfully. I thought she was respectful, listened intently and showed even more than support, she showed agreement. So how did you "tell she wasn't agreeing". Maybe your biased? I really like that Chloe said that she is where she is now in spite of Abby Lee Miller and not because of her. I think that’s one thing that JoJo gets a little mixed up and partly why she still defends Abby.
JoJo wasn't there as long and HAS said she can understand how OTHERS had different experiences. Why is' that never enough for those who hate on her. It's in soc media, not sure others here have seen it. Even Chloe and several girls, say their grateful and know it helped shape them. I think JoJo is a very loyal type person and grateful, a positive reaction.
All the other girls were nodding and agreeing with Chloe except Jojo, we see you JoJo. She literally just showed up to promote her career and make it known to the other girls how grateful they should all be.

Jojo was on for 2 seasons after knowing Abby as a celebrity. These girls been with Abby years before the show existed. They trusted Abby as a regular dance teacher and knew her before she became so mean to them
an important distinction. JoJo's Mom protected her on that show and left when JoJo wanted to, and pursue a career with nickelodeon.

Jojo has no clue what it felt like to be a normal regular girl that thinks they’re going to be on a docu series and then suddenly becomes famous. And bc the fans loved her the most, her dance teacher starts torturing her and making her life a living hell. Jojo and her mom knew exactly what they were signing up for and were prepared. They could mentally separate that it was all for the show. That was Chloe’s real life dance teacher who turned on her one day.
They were on Abby's first, previous show, so experience helped. And a more grateful feeling since it was ABBY who allowed JoJo to be included in Dm.
Any child would need therapy sessions as an adult after dealing with what they did.
Chloe in my eyes was the better tecnical dancer than the rest she had great lines, when she left the show was not the same, she waa always such a great friend to all

I did not like the "mom" drama that Lifetime always pushed. Some fake, some real. It was THAT issue that hurt so many of the girls. IF IF you knew some was scripted, like JoJo and her Mom did, maybe it's not so traumatizing. I think the girls reactions were genuine, most of the time. But Maddie is an example of the show meddling for effect, she said some of the "bratty" things she said were from the SHOW, Not her idea.
Chloe will always be and forever be a rockstar and a legend no matter what . Abby may have tried to take her down but Chloe is the more amazing person and she can definitely be the best of the best no matter what

Chloe is extremely well-rounded as a person. Probably the most down-to-earth of the cast.
Abby herself admits that Maddie never magically learned her winning solos in 30 min. that she had secret rehearsals all week long, it was Chloe, Nia the others who had to learn dances on the fly. How Melissa and Maddie could watch the others being berated by Abby- That is STONE COLD !

Watching this makes me wonder how that the whole Nickelodeon thing is being handled but not Abbey and the Dance Studio is being sued or investigated for hostile toxic behaviour and bullying, verbal abuse too!! The girls need justice for this as it causes trauma

It was traumatic but we have to let go of things that made us grow or else we become so vengeful it was toxic but not as bad to do all that Abby already got her karma what else could we want I’m sure the girls feel the same way.

Abby sold the dance studio and has had no contact with these young women except JoJo in years. I agree that the experience of trauma is always there but as we become adults we have to learn to move past those things and not let them consume us. It appears that these young women have successfully done this.

All these girls are queens for showing up. But I'm mostly proud of Chloe, pagie Brooke tbh there were the hated so we're Jojo but she isn't og so let her wine about her karma to someone else cuz no one cares. Anyway Brooke and Paige got therapy that doesn't mean they will forget about there passed. As if now there still thinking about this. It's breaks my heart to see chole talking about her passed tho. She said no to lifetime but then she had the confidence to come and say yes! Honestly I'm shocked these girls have the courage to show up today and say who they are. Even though there dance teacher Abby. Always brainwashed them with them thinking they aren't good and stuff. She drilled to Chloe Nia Paige Brooke but now they all are famous. Not because of abby because they showed themselves that without Abby they can be successful. Even after the hylands left Brooke got more singing opportunities Paige got more modeling opportunities. Even after Chloe the worst dancer treated got more famous. She got her own newspaper and she made her first book and bunch of good stuff that Abby did not expect. Also Nia her music career is going on top she's ten times better then Kendall. Idk why Jill was jealous but trying not to show it. At first Abby thought Kendall music video was going on top heck no. Yes Kendall has lots of views. But Nia has more. My point is Abby should believe in then not put the negative stuff in there head.

I admire and like JoJo. She was a hit with mostly kids in her years after. She loved performing for them with positive, uplifting messages in her show. fr. The teen to young adult phase that we all go thru is particularly hard for someone in the spotlight, every move watched. I wish her well. I think she still has the positive, kind heart she's always had.

These girls are really sweet and deserve the absolute best. However, a lot of them have mothers who put them in this situation. It’s not like they dropped their kids off and didn’t know what was going. They say there week after week, after week, they saw EVERYTHING. But they wanted their kids to be stars so bad they sacrificed their girls. Chloe seems to be so much more put together than her mother and I wish her the best.

No one is blaming Lifetime, the Producers, Directors who PUSHES a lot of the perceptions and agendas they wanted, for drama. Show had some manipulated and scripted parts. A lot of real, too. Especially the kids reactions. I din't like th Mom drama cause I wanted to see the kids and the dancing. Their were Nice moments with all, even Abby, and that's find. Think IF the Lifetime people DIDN"T push a dama agenda. Different.
I like how she said it’s her truth. But what about her mom. Abby was horrible, but the real villain is her mom. Christy was the adult, she chose to send her child to her emotional abusive dance teacher. Her mother chose fame and a show over her daughter’s well-being.

@@yourmorning_joe sometimes, parents just need to do the best for their child even if it’s not necessary what the child wants. That’s the role of a parent. The same opportunities at the cost of emotional distress. I feel it’s more like the chase of fame at all cost.

They were tied legally into a contract, they couldn’t leave the show/studio without being sued for millions. Abby + the production company would have to sign off to allow someone to leave

If at least one of those girls would have spoken up and said that they absolutely were miserable and didn’t want to do the show anymore, the moms could have gotten out of their contract. Kelly was able to get out of *her* contract. They all came from nice upper class families. I would think that money would not have been a problem if it came right down to their daughters’ mental and physical well being.

@@j-rodthelibrarykid1166Like I said, I’m not buying it. Kelly got out of her contract. And if it came right down to their daughter’s mental and physical health, I’m sure the other mothers could have gotten out of their contract as well.
@@frauleinmona Kelly got out of the contract because there were lawsuits between her and Abby so them being on the show together wasn't a good idea. Are you really suggesting that the others should have had as big an argument with Abby as Kelly did to get their kids off too.
The mums have said that it took them years to realise that the group lawyer they had was provided by production so wasn't looking after their best interests.
Christi got out of their contract after what happened at the end of season 4. A part of that was that they still had to do the end of season special and Chloe had to do the Chloe Does It series.
Maddie has said that Sia helped them get out of their contract. So sorry but if they needed the extra power that Sia had to help them with the lawyers, negotiating etc it isn't nearly as simple as you are making out.
I really think that if they hadn't of made the show all together most of the girls probably would have stayed longer than they did because before the show Abby was less involved in the actual dancing and she mainly worked on the desk while multiple teachers worked with the girls. Also the producers made Abby do some of the stuff they did and I can confirm this as Abby did a video with Eliana reacting to dance moms and you can tell it wasn't of her own free will to do it

I am NOT excusing the repulsive actions from Abby Miller & I'm glad the girls(now young women) are allowing their voices to be heard.
