    Good morning Andrea and congratulations on hitting your 25000 TH-cam milestone!!! I'm very happy to know so many other people get to share in the pleasure I have watching you all. I think I understand your decision to not use the 'money page', thats just my name for it. It only makes me appreciate you more!
    I am very much looking forward to this month's topic, thank you for the play list; it will be good to watch in preparation. I have used essential oil on the skin to help sooth problems; but I never felt safe taking it internally! I'm excited to see what I can learn from you. I have some chronic health conditions, that means I deal with some pain issues and insomnia. If you touch on anything that might benefit me in those areas, I would be very grateful.
    I've just started my day in the U.K, so I'm wishing You, Tom and the children a wonderful day. Filled up with love and lots of happy things!! ❤

    Hi Andrea, do you know recipes for ear infections? My son use to get them often when he was a baby and they stopped for a few years. The last 2 years he's been getting them again and his doctor is telling me we should get tubes in his ear and I'm totally not interested in that. I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on this topic. Thanks!

    Hi Andrea, I have a few things I've wondered about regarding herbal remedies. 1) do you ever get pushback from traditional doctors, or even friends and family? How do you deal with this? 2) As at least one other person mentioned below, I have chronic pain and would love to hear what type of remedies you use for pain 3) do you use essential oils? I use them for making scrubs and lotions, but haven't tried using them therapeutically - the whole multi-level-marketing oils thing has kind of put a bad taste in my mouth regarding essential oils for healing! I would love to hear from someone who isn't trying to sell me something :) Thanks!

    I'm curious about how long your herbs stay "fresh"... are they like spices and herbs that you cook with? I've seen where many cookbooks recommend discarding them after a year. You, however, have quite a large stash and I'm sure thay add up monetarily. How long can you keep them? P.S. I truly enjoy your channel! Missing/not missing the Wyoming snow, lol. You should tell others about the cross guard things that are lowered when the roads are closed... that's not normal for other areas of the country. Just a though :)

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In case I don't remember to talk about it in a video, the general rule is that after a year herbs start to lose potency. They're not harmful; just not as strong. If I have something that's been around awhile I'll plan to use a lot more of it than if it was fresher. I've also tried to buy herbs in a more whole state so they last longer (like whole berries rather than powdered, etc.) If something has lost it's smell I'll put it in the compost and order new.

    l liked this so much!! Herbs (and essential oils) seem overwhelming sometimes, so practical info will be great! I'd love to know which herbs you've had success growing yourself, it's time to figure out what to do with my tiny herb garden this year, here in Michigan.
    I agree 100% with you about Patreon (sp?), appreciate how much time you had to spend clearing it up.
    Even tho I have the bell checked for notifications, I don't get any notifications ever on any TH-cam subscriptions (no emails, no "dings"), maybe because I use my phone instead of computer? All I see is a blue dot under your picture if I go into youtube on my phone, if you've posted anything new. Don't see how google+ can regard that as intrusive.
    Thank you for all your efforts, please don't disappear!

    Haven't been able to find answers for this from a doctor yet, after four years of trying. I can't stand up for longer than around 5 minutes. (standing in the same spot; walking I can do for longer as long as I stay in motion) I get this horrible ache in my spine, starting at the very top, that radiates into my shoulders and neck. It's incredibly painful. I also lose my vision, similar to when you stand up too fast. The closest thing I've found so far is that my muscle mass is severely lacking... I'm missing about 20lbs of muscle mass that a normal adult should have.. I'm 5'10" and 120lbs and I still have quite a bit of body fat considering how low that weight should be for a typical adult of my size. So I'm thinking I am just lacking the muscle mass to support my frame, making standing difficult. Obviously I am not a doctor so this is all speculation. I've been trying for 4 years now to get answers from doctors and it's all very slow-moving, they tend to just brush me off and send me for X-rays over and over without really looking into anything very deeply. It's frustrating and I'm still searching for a doctor who will take more than 2 minutes to listen to me and think about my concerns. I once waited 8 months to see a neurologist who saw me for less than five minutes and told me that I seemed depressed and should try having better posture because that affects your self image. (sitting up straight is also difficult for the same reasons as standing, I end up in severe pain within minutes) I was so frustrated after that appointment that I cried outside. When I go to a doctor I feel like I'm invisible, I'm talking but no one can actually hear what I'm saying. This standing thing has been an issue for me since I was probably 12 or 13 years old. I didn't realize it was not normal until I was 18. I thought standing up was a physical fitness thing, the same way I can't run for more than a minute, or do push ups. But then I got my first job as a cashier and couldn't do it, and realized that everyone around me was standing up with no effort whatsoever. It was really shocking to me.
    Anyway.. not really sure for what purpose I've shared this, it just came to mind when you talked about healing at home. These days I've just kind of built my life around this issue, I stay in bed 95% of the day, and the rest of the time I sit on the couch or at a computer chair. I leave the house once a week for a brief grocery shopping trip. I've become accustomed to it but I sometimes wish I could turn my life around. I want to pursue the only lead I have (low muscle mass) but gaining 20lbs of muscle is a HUGE undertaking for someone who can barely lift 5lbs, and can't do a single push up. I don't even know where to start. It's so overwhelming that I've just reached the point of not thinking about it. Right now I don't mind not being very active, but I can't help but wonder if it will come back to bite me later in life, I'm only 22. I don't want to wind up completely immobile at a young age, I feel like I should do something about it while I still can. I feel the intense need to just erase this whole comment and forget about it but I guess I'll just go ahead and post it. Just for myself to acknowledge that it's still an issue, even if it didn't end up being very relevant to anything or anyone 😓

      I'm not sure if I have any answers, but the first thing that comes to mind is adrenal fatigue, especially since it started around the time you probably started puberty. We're going to talk about dealing with stress in an upcoming video which would be relevant, but also taking mineral supplements and lots of sea salt (like Celtic sea salt or something similar), eating a lot of fat like real butter and coconut oil as well as using adaptogenic herbs might be helpful in cases of adrenal fatigue. Here's a link talking about symptoms of adrenal fatigue: www.mcvitamins.com/adrenal-exhaustion.htm There are a lot of different adaptogens; this link talks about a few good ones: avivaromm.com/adaptogens-beating-stress/ Also, mineral deficiencies (especially magnesium) can cause muscle wasting and make it hard to gain new muscle. Those are my thoughts for now; if i think of anything else I'll share it with you.

    I was curious, probably because I'm autistic but if you had a child that was autistic or disabled in some way, would you approach their homeschool the same way? I know your kids are all typical so you don't have an issue but I wondered if it did come up, how you might approach it, if you ever thought about it.

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      No matter who you are, you're not "ideal." Ideal doesn't exist. I think we all have difficulties and we all learn how to manage life with them. No point in worrying about _why_ something is difficult; life has to be lived and coping mechanisms have to be found no matter what. As far as homeschool goes, we make adjustments as possible to suit the child, but we also try to help suit the child to the work.

    Hi Miss Andrea! I just wanted to encourage you to keep your Patreon page!! I have been wanting to send your family a gift but it's a bit of a challenge because toys take up space and food/snacks can be a personal preference...Patreon allows me to share $20/month with you, and that's my pleasure! To know you will have a few extra bucks for a birthday or date night or for crayons when they're needed--I would feel very proud and helpful. Please reconsider accepting monetary gifts from your friends--we want to help and we are part of your village! I live in Oakland, Ca and although I grew up in a much smaller family, we struggled financially. I remember my Mom even going to our Catholic church to ask for financial help (while my Dad served in the Air Force in Italy) when she was looking for work, and they said No, that's not what they do....after decades of tithing it was very hurtful for her. Thankfully other community organizations helped our family until we got on our feet, and I have been a person who pays it forward ever since. I served two years in AmeriCorps as a volunteer and now I look for affordable ways I can support others in my community. You may not be geographically close but I enjoy your family and how different it is from my own. It would be a pleasure to share a small gift with your family, knowing how far you will ensure it goes and how appreciated it would be. 🤓❤

      Thank you for the advice. I actually checked into the "rules" in the past when I was doing my other herb videos. (It didn't stop some people from panicking on my behalf, though!) I can't remember if you're the one that used Royal Jelly. I bought some to try, but I haven't actually used it yet.

    • @Blessedbears
      @Blessedbears 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrea Mills Yes maam, I suggest it on cycle day one. Another thing that has jumpstarted fertility is also vitex and Castor oil packs. I made videos in the past explaining how I used them for fertility but am not brave enough to broadcast myself to the world (lol) ... But for sure cycle day one is best for the royal jelly and some other methods. I kinda figured you had your ducks in a row... unfortunately this world isn't always kind to those who want to help others.

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been taking vitex off and on. (I'm never as consistent with things as I'd like to be!) If nothing happens this month, I'll try to start with the Royal Jelly. I'm going to suggest it to my sister, too. Her kids are all 5 years apart just because she never gets pregnant in between. Her youngest is 5 now and she's hoping for another blessing. Maybe that would do the trick.

    • @Blessedbears
      @Blessedbears 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrea Mills I really hope it does the trick. It's very important to start it at the beginning of the cycle...at least for me it works best when that happens. Best prayers for that coming!!! I started back on vitex this week and already notice how the excess estrogen symptoms are less and less.

      I know he's talked about how he used to really like Mazapan. I'm not sure if he's tried anything else.

    Ok. I'm 15. I am from Birobidzhan, Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Russia (at the eastern edge of Siberia) but we move St Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, Russia when I very little. Now we live near Chicago, Illinois, USA. I have high functioning autism and have 4 brother and a half sister that are on autism spectrum (pretty sure my dad also but we don't talk about that lol lol) One of my brothers is pretty severe. I have a brother and half sister who typical and annoying.
    I've never been to Wyoming so I love it when you go outside. It's interesting see area and weather patterns.
    You have very nice gamily and I love watching your videos.
    Do you teach your kids about other religions, like mine (you probably figured out I was Jewish).
    Thank for making videos

      Hi Martinushka! We love to learn about all kinds of things- including other religions. We don't have a set course of study or anything like that, but we're always interested in understanding and discussing what other people believe. (I enjoyed your comment about your dad. ☺)

    TH-cam has been bumming me of late. I can post an initial comment with no problem but cannot respond to your reply. It also won't allow me to post a second comment. I'm trying to have a conversation but You Tube is telling me, "No!". :-/

      I've noticed that your account is having trouble, too. There are a few of you, actually, that keep having your comments go into my spam folder. I'm not sure why. When I see them I can approve them so they should show up in the comments again, but for some reason my folder says I have 37 messages in my spam folder that I can't see. It's been that way for weeks so apparently there are messages in limbo. They can't show up in the comments until I approve them, but I can't approve them because TH-cam isn't letting me see them. There's something called Shadow Banning that can happen, too. I'm not sure if that applies in your case, but it's a possibility. It's so frustrating sometimes!
