Long time ago when I was in the Marines, after showing some horsemanship (I grew up on a ranch) this guy walked up to me and asked if I’d ever thought about spec ops. He was wiry, like me and because of the way he was dressed I figured he was CIA. I said nah I don’t want to be a spook. He says come with me. We go into a room and he tells me about a secret military unit, can’t say what. I said maybe. He asks if I was married. I said yes, why? He says if you get selected you’ll need a good divorce lawyer. I no thanks only latter to find out it was “delta”. Don’t know if I would’ve made it, sad part I wound up getting divorced anyway.
1977 was the very early period of Delta Squadron and not the best either. Publicity is Special Operations worst enemy. The deluge of Special Operation movies (Delta/SEAL Team, etc.) were great for recruiting but an absolute disaster for operational security. The movies didn't give away secrets about operations or training or anything for that matter, but what it did accomplish was to focus everyone's attention on what Special Operations were doing (not a wise move). Now, everyone's attention was fixed on Special Operations and nothing was secret anymore. A boatload of books, movies and documentaries made sure there were no secrets about who they were, what they did and who they did it for (not good). One huge misconception about any and all Special Operations is that they are all "James Bond" or "Jason Bourne", they are not because James Bond and Jason Borne aren't real people. As to matching a UFC fighter against a Delta Operator or a SEAL...in a fighting ring, a bad match up...but throw that UFC fighter out of a C-130 at 26,000 feet AGL at night with two hundred pounds of gear and weapons and just before he gets on that plane you tell him there are hundreds, maybe thousands of bad guys armed to the teeth running around just praying to their God that they get a shot at killing an American Satan and they don't mind dying in the act...and it's a completely different set of possible outcomes...that UFC guy would gladly let an Operator do that fight. Somebody once said that Special Operations isn't about guys who are world class experts at everything, because that's impossible. What Special Operations look for are guys who are "B" students in everything not just a few things.
Wow they actually remade this video. I saw the last video and it was horribly made. They did a much better job this time. Good job for listening n making the right corrections as far as information.
This was back in the early 90's but got a random letter in the mail with some generic info, a phone number and a packing list, the big one was no patches on any uniform other than US Army
@ being trained to shoot and being trained in martial arts are two different things. Don’t believe me, look at ValhallaVFT’s video on Navy SEALs thinking they could beat Sean Strickland.

Don't worry, President Trump's going to have all the names changed back to their original names, as they should be!
Not for long
Should be called BRAGG!!!

Delta Force's blend of elite skill and adaptability is mind-blowing.

Just to bring some folks up to speed, Ft. Bragg is no longer called Ft. Bragg. It’s now known worldwide as Fort Liberty.
My personal thoughts are it should have been renamed to "Ft Benavides" he was a Vietnam era Green Beret, Medal of Honor recipient.
Just leave the name what it was. No one cares about personal thoughts
What do you think is the strangest thing about Delta Force?
There training,I wonder what training they go through because it looks like not even the seals know
It’s strange that people keep making these videos and the guy above doesn’t know how to use their.
