- Watch in HD, shows how large hard rock is crushed down to smaller rock. Rock is blasted and mined, then hauled up above to be sent to the crusher, jaw - screen-- cone--- screen---- stockpile. Aggregate Base in one pile, 1 1/2 rock in the other. Attempted to merge audio with the aerial, not perfect but its close.

Yea it's called the dirt conveyor
It saves the fines from going through the jaw, that conveyor is usually turned off and the fines diverted to the main belt under the jaw, it saves wear to the jaw.

No...stay away from these things...the maintenance and repairs will make you pull your hair out...it gets old real fast
odd maner changing screens, electric motor swaps, electric line faults, replacing belts & flashing etc. yeah there’s no shortage of things that can and will break down!
@@Naltddesha I take it you've been around them before....not many people know about these machines...I had never even heard of one till a few years ago I got a call for a no start (it was the e-stops) since then it's been one thing after the next iv definitely learned alot about crushing...what works what dosen't
odd maner yeah I worked at a limestone mine in Oklahoma. It was rare for the crusher you run a full day without ay least one sort of breakdown or stoppage
The downtime is a b****this job requires a person willing to work I was a picker I don't see any pickers picking, a friend of mine died he fell into the crusher I myself was injured greasing the ball bearings at the end of the conveyor belt 35 feet in the air paralyzed from the chest down 12 17 91,funny thing I enjoyed the job it was hard work and I enjoyed hard work. I was injured during the down time.
What is the rock?
Great stuff. Weird set up though. Not knowing what the production demands are at the time but it looks like a Primary crusher being fed into another crusher that blends into another screening process. Just doesn't look right. Again who knows what the demand is. It feel inefficient would love to get to know what it is?

The crushing setup is a Terex Power Screen system. There are alot of companies that make these setups JCI-KPI, Kleemman, McClosky etc.

santa muerte that’s what I have to do. Their not gonna pay someone to stand by the controls for 10 hours just Incase a belt stops
Naltddesha the way we did it was our plant operator was on a 3 story tower 1-2 grounds men walking around keeping tail pulleys free from rock build up. Everyone had radio contact, something stops, you gotta catch it in time before you make a mess
santa muerte I see. We have two plants: the one like in the video (the plant operator also feeds the plant with a loader) and the big plant we had, had a tall tower for the plant op like you said. But on that plant, the guy in the tower could see everything, and if a belt stopped he could shut it down for the tower. Bc at that point, no one on the ground would be able to fix the problem without shutting the plant down. It’ll still kind of confused on what your original comment was about
What I’m trying to say is, this plant obviously doesn’t have a 3 story tower, that’s all

That plant looks decently clean. Walksways do look unkempt, but at least those pulleys are good. That’s the hard part in my opinion. Out of the game now, but I’ll be back in Feb.
santa muerte how can you tell the pulleys are good? Just bc they are working at the moment?
Naltddesha head and tail pulleys have 2 bearings each and they’re freshly greased. Thats the most important part in keeping a plant going. You want to see dark/wet dirt and grease on the bearings not super dry bearings.
santa muerte I know, but you can’t see that from drone footage? I was just wondering how you think you assessed the conditions of the pulleys from this video
@@Naltddesha im a little late, but...what I can see is the dark brown color around the bearings. That implies theres is fresh grease(covered in dust) there. Dry bearings will have dried dirt, and would not show dark “wet” dirt in the bearings. Thats how I was taught to look at my unreachable bearings and see if needed grease or not.
@@santamuerte3006 pulleys?? Do you mean on the head and tail drums, on the conveyer belt rollers? Never hear pulleys before and I've been in quarries for over ten years.
Would u like to live there next door ?? It happing here in Spicewood, TX 15 - 24 hour a 5-7 days a week with dusts and noises and sometime oil and limestones dusts (poisoning dusts)
