@@juniordace1347 I think their offering will be closer to UnitedMasters where they accept anyone for distribution, but certain artists out of the pack will be up streamed for more opportunities whether that be management, signing to the label, or direct sync deals.
They PUNTED 🏈 They folded an actual record label into Equity Distribution. Equity was invite-only DIY distribution with a little bit support. Now, there's no label anymore at all. And now, it's not invite-only anymore, they're accepting all applications. You Will not be upstreamed. That's why Shari Bryant stepped down, she's no longer needed to do-run the actual major label; because there's no more Roc Nation Label, it's merged. It's all a even playing field. Roc is not fixed on recordings anymore, only other areas of the business and this is the nail in the coffin. Record labels are dying.
I'm sorry fake account, but this is actually not true. Just because Shari Bryant stepped down doesn't mean that no one will fill her position. Not to mention, they have a whole roster of artists that are contractually bound to their label. Roc Nation used to be distributed by Universal Music, now they will be distributed via their own company. I don't disagree that labels as we used to know them are facing a great deal of challenges and adversity, but many of these corporations will outlive every artist on their catalog even if the entire music industry falls.
I think most labels are gonna move to this model soon - let the masses do all the work then get behind anything that gets traffic and increase their backend percentage - no investment required
As soon as they accepted me they locked me out of my account. I find that to be quite strange I literally was newly accepted. Maybe it’s a blessing that I can’t see.

So the 15% is only coming from publishing? And the Masyer recording side is all yours? Making it really 85/15. Or is it 15% from masters and 15% from publishing
After hearing all of the horror stories from all of the rocafella artists, majority of artists managed by roc nation, and pretty much everyone they’ve done business with… do you REALLY trust signing to their distribution? Hell even Larussell and Colin kaepernick had issues with them 🤦🏾♂️🤣
Misinformation. None of the artists managed by Roc Nation have complained. Wale left before they got their infrastructure together. The only Rocafella artists that complained were the Philly rappers who got robbed by their management and signed those deals without solid representation. Or they're mad they didn't get supported through prison bids which has nothing to do with a music career. LaRussell is a brand of his own, he said that they sent him a lowball offer but he was never with them to see how things would go. Kaepernick was never represented by Roc either, people were just angry that Jay partnered with the NFL during his protest, but it was after 2 years had already passed. Kaep had opportunities to re-enter the league btw and wanted to do it on his terms. Just didn't work out.
@@realjnolan No, YOU are spreading misinformation. There are plenty of artists that have complained that roc nation never did anything for their career, and that roc nation were basically receiving a free check. Hell, we can take it back even further to the rocafella artists and THEIR complaints about jay z’s “shrewd” business practices. Why would he call dehaven a snitch, then hire Desire Perez? Also, they sent Larussell a contract with NO money, NOT a lowball offer, but NO money except a discretionary fund… and once he brought it up, the instantly sent another contract as if they were testing him to see if he’d bite the bait. Let’s call a spade a spade, that’s all. Good day to you sir 🫡

UM didn't offer video distribution even tho i was asking for years because i didn't want to distribute music on UM and video thru distrokid. Also i have been with UM from beginning when everything was free then they changed it and start charging $60 a year for Select where u keep 100% royalties but if dont pay annually they start removing your content from platforms. My biggest concern was if something happened to me i want my music out forever. I have been with rocnation distro about a month and they have created my vevo channel, merged my TH-cam channel to one main channel, i can drop songs that wasn't getting cleared thru UM.
