You should for proper documentation. Either way, once they are added to the LLC/corporation they are tagged on the back of these other systems that can get all the owner's information. Hope that helps.
Very helpful video....I have a question, would you recommend setting up the company early even if I don’t plan to purchase my first truck for another 6 mo or so?
I recommend to prepare in steps and take your time as this is a business decision. Get consulting and prepare are my recommendations. You can save your butt a year's worth of errors by listening to those who have done it and are willing to teach to you for a price. EVEN IF YOU ARE A DRIVE for 10+ years. Driving and running a business are two different things. Now you may hear some people say I will get the USDOT to get experience on it. Doesn't work that way, the shipper/brokers want to see active USDOT with insurance history. When they say they want 3months to-1years USDOT experience they mean active USDOT/MC Authority. You have one year from the application time before you have to pay the $300 again. Don't purchase the UCR until you ready to go because come the Jan 1st you have to pay it again as its annual payment. Assuming you are doing 6 months. Thanks for the questions Shaun!
@@truckersauthority great video question, in my case I had to do the sap program for a refusal of drug test will this have affect on me trying to get my dot and emc number?
@@truckersauthority You said that brokers want USDOT experience. How do you get this experience if the shippers and brokers will not hire you. I'm hotshot trucking with a 4 hauler. Financing truck and trailer fall under term lease or owned? Also under cargo carried, I was told to select commodities dry bulk and i'm hauling vehicles so I select motor vehicles, is this all correct?
Hi Jessica and Miguel, for the first part, you want to select "lease" and for the commodities, you want to select all commodities that you will haul. If you plan on doing vehicles make sure to select "Motor Vehicles". Select all you plan on hauling to make sure the insurance companies properly cover your business. Dry bulk is more like powder, grain metal, and so forth that is in large parcels. Most hotshot with Motor vehicles select, general freight, building material, motor vehicles. I would say this is the most average hotshot selection that I see. Hope this helps.

THANK YOU! appreciate the quick response man!
@@jessicaandmiguelreyes5508 Absolutely, good luck on your new venture, and congratulations! Also if you are doing auto hauler check out auto intel, they have some cool stuff to learn. There is also a gentleman there that does consultations for auto haulers. I believe the gentleman's name is TY. Here is the link to the channel, - you might have to search through the playlist to find him - th-cam.com/users/AutoTransportIntel
Lastly, if you are looking for hotshot insurance. Check our friends who deal with transportation companies daily, they have good hotshot deals - goldriverinsurance.com/truckquotes/

Hey your authority yet?
@@markwhite7085 yup went active 03/02
Love it I’m going to do mine in the morning....quick question do you know if your llc has to be established first before this process or it don’t matter
@@markwhite7085 I made my LLC 5 days before applying for the MC# it took less than 7 days registered LLC with zen business look them up, only recommendations i would change of this tutorial is when you get to choose what cargo to carry? mark general freight alone non cdl using progressive insurance underwriter didn't liked "machinery, large objects" and "others" so asked for us to remove it ( it was easy to fix from safer website) you'll see I'm case you need change something in the future. Wow enough rant lol 😂😂😂😂 hopefully this small info helps your journey. 😉
Love it thanks 🏆
Thank you so much for your advises i must say this is the best 1 hour plus I have spent this year.
I filled this application out last week but I didn't submit it because I just knew I hadn't done it right. This video broke the process down so thoroughly that I'm more than confident now. Thank you, sir.
