    I "invented" this in the forest. But I put the ridgepole to block the two "towers" physically. As I went home and googled "tripod hammock setup" I found that nobody sets it up with a ridgepole that blocks the construction. Instead they hang it underneath.

      Nobody? I just used my “outboard motor lift” version that way this past weekend. It’s just not on TH-cam, yet, but it is on Facebook. Oops, maybe I did upload a short section on it, but for my tie down anchors because I was setup on the dock out on the lake.

    Amazing! Very nice! You did a great job with this. Thanks for sharing. What do you estimate the weight limit would be?

    Excellent rig! If you had a hammock with a ridgeline built-in, would this dual tripod system need a top rail? Asking, of course, looking for ways to drop weight/additional poles/connections.

      Definitely requires the ridge pole! This isn’t a lightweight system. I made a 2x2 version that is much sturdier for camping. The bamboo model is for lounging and watching SpaceX rocket launches.

    Is center pole 12 feet total length? What diameter are all the poles?

      I made this to fit on my kayak and is minimal. My 2x2 version is 7’ tripod legs and ridge pole is like 12’ to handle my tarp.

      Most use wooden 2x2s and my other set up is that.

    Whats the point of the long pole between the tripods ??

    • @spidennis
      @spidennis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tripods hold up the ridge pole that does all the work.

      @@spidennis otherwise the weight distribution of the hammock on the tripod would not be "perfectly" downwards ?

      @1234123412341234 What would happen if you didn't used the long pole between the tripods? .... Yes that's why you use them

      @@stevenduyck5204the tripods would tip over, each end of the ridgepole where it is connected to each tripod, also takes the weight of the hammock pulling straight down, eliminating the hammock pulling the tripods sideways, a good idea is a rigepole, aslong as it is strong enough to take the weight in the first place.

    Can I have the name of this beach?

    • @spidennis
      @spidennis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started off by saying where I was, South Padre island Texas. Today it is 77 degrees, kinda like this day on the beach, but today is windy and the SpaceX Starship SN9 launch is scrubbed.
