One sperm has to fertilize with egg, then Why does oligospermia happens ? I mean Why the amount matters if only one sperm will fertilize the egg

One sperm fuse with egg mean on energetic sperm is capable to do this other sperms are destroyed by the mucus lining of female reproductive track .......and the count matter bcz there must be larger number of sperm that have the ability to fight with female reproductive barriers......I think it's the answer
