That was really enjoyable. Lots of orchestral color, beautiful melodies, and the 28 minutes goes by too quickly. Not a problem with tempo, I just wish there was more. Thank you for the the nice score video. Well selected and well done.
Ah, Dohnányi. What a giant he was. I recommend his Festival Overture for you to check out, written for a double orchestra (!) + brass ensemble, which is simply orgasmic. Sadly, a printed score is still unavailable (only manuscript) which is a sad reflection of Hungarian music publishing. th-cam.com/video/07pPlqEuVKw/w-d-xo.html For all intents and purposes, his biggest mistake was being born too late to be recognised as first-rate. Plus he didn’t have the added benefit historically of being a theoretician too, like Bartók and Kodály which down the line gave them an unalienable advantage. Anyhow, I always thought of him as easily the most original and daring composers of the compromise-era, (save for Bartók) - but certainly more than Kodály.
@@SPscorevideos I know of a guy who has probably seen the manuscript (he made a transcription of it), but there is only a slim chance he will have it on hand. I can ask him if he could fetch it. It's probably the most elusive masterpiece in all of Hungarian music, besides, the score is enormous - I don't know how well it would translate into a TH-cam video.
@@SPscorevideos Actually, there is a score for download, but it costs 46 euro. There's also a free preview of it, too. core.musicfinland.fi/works/symphony-in-f-minor
W0nderful, wonderful. What symphony orchestra is all about !
Beautiful piece of music. Portions are very reminiscent of Brahms. Love the scherzo.

Do you know if a pdf of that manuscript is available somewhere? If it's a well written manuscript, I could still make a video of it.

@@Kris9kris You're probably right, there are videos with very, very huge scores, which are basically useless... :/
Hey, if you have the time, can you do Ernst Mielck's symphony? He was such a young man.
I would be very happy to do that, if I could only find the score...

@@GJYYNGII I know, I meant that there isn't a *free* score. ;)
