My parrot almost cry's when it sees me after I come back from vacation. I suspect it was scared I wasn't going to come back. They're incredibly emotional creatures.
I once had to take a week long trip and my mom was watching my birds we would call everyday and anytime my mom walked into my room with my birds they would call out to the phone and get really excited to hear my voice.
Your birds must love you soo much to talk to you thro the phone! ^^

my budgies always start calling for me when I leave for school and fly around me when I come back. That's when they start chirping too. My Cockatiels do the same, though they just waddle around when I'm back.

My bird Scout had a 'home call' of sorts. It was a very specific sound me made whenever he couldn't find me and he would do it all the time when I left for school

Teach 'em the zipper sounds. That one is really easy for them to learn too! Mine learned practically over night. I played "Kiwi the parakeet - zipper sounds" on TH-cam, over and over again. It's really funny!

Budgies remember people for years! I bought my BudDee from a woman who was abusive to him( he had no flight feathers,or tail feathers pulled out by his previous owner.) He heard her in the hallway of my apartment building.He came and crawled inside my sweater.( he had never done that before) he knew I would protect him. He's not a really affectionate bird( I have never pushed the point, because I know what he came from) but if he gets scared? Hes on me like velcro.and that's okay with me.( I rescue birds)

Hes much better after two years.he doesnt get upset often.just watch the body language. He doesnt like the music up too loud either.I ask him( if he starts chirping) if he wants me to turn it down? Then I turn it down,and hes happy again. Hes a sweet little guy. He's not afraid of me anymore.I talk to him,even if he doesnt understand,he understands the effort.

Your advice and experience with budgies is always helpful and relatable.
I had a parrotlet, who would "take" care of me when I was sick/sad. She would try and feed me and/or sit on my nose to keep me warm. She knew when I was upset and she would always make me feel better. I miss her so much.

I wasn't going to be one of those budgie owners who kissed their bird, but he kinda started it. He likes to be really close to my face when I'm talking to him... so close that I can't even focus my eyes on him. After a while he started giving me gentle little beak taps on the face. very cute. But yeah, it evolved into the ol' "gimme kiss" trick I swore I'd never teach him, and he absolutely reads it as some sort of gesture of our friendship, whether he knows what kisses are or not.
Oh, and he beeps so loud whenever I walk in the room, all my many roommates ask him "Is that your best friend? Did your best friend come home?" He doesn't do that for any of them even though he is quite friendly with all of them and shy with strangers. He knows who's who.

I have experimented with the behavior of my chickens before. I had a buddy of mine who is scared of chickens. The rooster that detects fear wants to show that it is dominant and will try and attack them. While I on the other hand am fearless so it would try and run away for me 💀💀💀.
Anytime I'm sad, my budgie comes up to me and gives me kisses! 😭🥰

One day my budgie Buddy was perched on my brother's door knob. Are neighbor Kelly came over. So I looked out of the door. He stayed on my shoulder. And he just needed to see who it was. And for some reason he has hated her ever since. And he loves me my sister my brother and my mom. He has a other budgie Banana. And she is very shy.♥️🦜♥️🦜♥️

I think my budgies like me. They follow me around. When I am away from desk and am gone all day, I notice they don’t leave as much of a mess near my desk - I guess because I am not there. I like that they look at me when I call their names and pay attention when I chat with them. They’re probably just humoring me. 😃
So it indeed is the character that is the decisive factor in whether or not your fluffy buddy likes to be petted/scratched. My budgie certainly doesn't. Though there are exceptions. Only when he's feeling sick will he allow us to scratch him. He even enjoys it, and it actually is a great way to determine if he's actually sick or just for instance sleepy.
My bird doesn’t like direct kisses on the beak, but he does like nose-to-beak kisses. He imitates the “smooch” sound and our laughter, among other things. 😂❤

The point from kisses.. idk why but i think my budgie understands the fact of kisses... if i give a kiss to my budgie.. she wil literally give kisses al over my face and it looks like she really like that bc she keeps doing it and her body language looks happy to while she does that

This budgie alredy died but before he died everyone was trying to catch him i didnt cuz i didnt know how. He was scared of everyone else but not me he chosed me.. He wouldn't leave me alone and he was still following me and i was the only person he would get on (my shoulder or finger) now im happy that i know this:)

I think I'm my budgies favourite person. He sleeps on me. On my hand, knee and shoulder. He preens my beard and eyebrows. He comes into my office as soon as I open his cage and definitely associates me with vegetables and mangos, his favourite fruit :)
Parrots don't have breeds, they have species. Breeds are different "forms" of the same species. Just like dogs and cats have many different breeds (sizes, colors, builds) they still both only have one species; all dogs are _canis familiaris_ and cats are _felis catus_ . Birds on the other hand have many different species and even span across many genera! Budgies are _Melopsittacus undulatus_ , the only member of that genus. Whereas African Greys are _Psittacus erithacus_ , a lot of the popular cockatoos are in the genus _Cacatua_ , caiques are in the genus _Pionites_ , amazons are in the genus _Amazona_ , etc. Point is, there are a ton of species of parrots, not breeds🙂

Chipper and Chico are my world 🌎 I only leave them when I do errands otherwise they are with me and I leave their cage doors open and they are free to fly around my living room
While I had friendship issues from june -September I had my cutie Sunny who knew I was sad and comforted me by tickling me by getting fluffed and run around my neck and when he lost his best friend I din5 study for my exams just to payback my bird
Fast forward to Feb when my best friend in school showed his real face my new bird neo started biting me and I laughed IDK if my bird planned this or he was like "IDK if ur sad just play with me crybaby"

I was surprsed to see so much video of people kissing their birds and letting them eat from their mouths. I think you should add that human saliva can make a pet bird very sick. It can even cause their death. Only extremely dry kisses are safe to share with your pet bird.
If a human can't tell a 'bad human' a bird certainly can't. You just THINK it can. That's YOU. Only YOU.
Everytime i open the door for school, they start chirping 😅 Then i check on them they are completely silent 🔇
