35 years old embarassing low vert, right now i am 3inches from the rim. Will update in a few weeks. 2 week update, learning I am old and it hurts the back to jump. Going to try and build up with jump rope for a bit. Further update: got up to rim just from jumping rope /squats/deadlift, but have family obligations so have not been keeping up with it.

Personally, I do back and forth as one rep. For resting, I take around fifty seconds in between to make sure I’m not too fatigued going into the next set. Others may have different preferences so just experiment and see what works best for you.
What do you think about doing maybe half this workout immediately followed by lower body weight training such as squats and RDLs? Too much on the body?

not efficient because the muscles need about two days to repair to stop any overworking which make you feel fatigue during actual matches , so i suggest 3 or 2 times a week
As much as you need. If you continue with the next set prematurely and without being fully rested, then you won’t be able to fully give it your all and thus limit your performance.

If you do plyometrics and weight training I recommend doing plyometrics before you start your lifting so that you're at 100% neural capacity

Depth jumps doesn’t stunt your growth, you’ll be completely fine
