    1:51 - ".....it is not working. I don't know why." Lol, that itself deserves a thumbs up.

    I used it & I don't know if it is 100% accurate, but my car now plays Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple when I start it cold.

    Does that belt have the correct rotation? Arrows facing backwards.

    Is there a requirement to have the engine at top dead centre? Having it at different positions might change the belt tension on either side due to changing the effect of the valve springs. (Try rotating the camshaft on an engine with the timing belt removed - taking care to avoid piston valve contact - and you'll see what I mean)

      Gook question, but unless it's a one cylinder motor, TDCs will come and go as the crank is rotated. I guess any particular one would be fine. #1 cyl is the easiest. I was wondering which segment of the belt to use, as they vary in length and therefore Hz.

    No manual do carro a tensao da correia nao esta em Hertz... onde foi buscar a medida em Hz?

    Does it say which portion of the belt to pluck? There are a few open segments available and the longer ones will vibrate at a lower frequency; the shorter ones higher.

      I found a Renault PDF file using google, and he is using the correct spot and correct hertz.

    Amazing advancements with this tech, does anyone know where I can get the timing belt frequency for a VW Transporter T4 AAB engine? It would be a great help. Thanks

    my belt is at 2.4ghz. think the app was mixing it with the wifi.

    This is like Dannys "resonant frequency" thing on Faye Hadleys channel lol the tension seemed fine

    What if dont flick the belt as hard, does it change the frequency?🤔

    • @steven-vn9ui
      @steven-vn9ui 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, just the volume (amplitude)

  • @dominicdoerhing7723

    This not true because the tone will also change based on the length of section of belt your strumming. Longer section with same tension = lower tone.

  • @lucemferr1
    @lucemferr1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not recommended because the distance between the wheels where you measure your frequency differs from car to car, therefor the frequency will change with the same tension! Every musician knows this. The tension wheel with its arrow is the only accurate way to set, and check the tension.

      That is the way Renault and Vauxhall dealers check the timing belt tension on the Trafic and Vivaro vans, with different engines using different frequencies.
