Sending sincere condolences to your private seller and her loved ones. Burial costs are absolutely outrageous and I am so sorry for their loss. Thank you though, for posting this private sale and I know how extremely respectful you are. The seller had great collections and you chose what perfectly suited you. So well done in a difficult situation .
What a nice touch to put the memorial to Nora’s Mom at the end! I was invited into a private home yesterday morning. The people having the sale sure do appreciate the assistance of purchasing treasures to help an unexpected expense. I look at it as helping out!

Every private pick I’ve been on was for different reasons. Not one person was sad or upset that I was there to pick through their collections. We had conversations, laughs and formed friendships. Nora sent me photos of her kitchen today. She rearranged and added a new collection to the top of her kitchen cupboards. It looks great! 😊

It was so sad to hear Nora say that she needed the money more than she needed these things. My heart almost broke for her. Nora, I hope you find peace in the memories of your mother. My grandmother made one of those birds with the holes. She made it in her ceramics class. She put baking soda in hers and kept it in the fridge.
The little bird you picked up is a strawberry hill pottery creation. From Thunder Bay Ontario. They resell for a lot especially the bigger pieces

The Apple with holes are for tooth brushes or utencils holder
The blue pottery mugs in the beginning, where the mushrooms were, they were my favorite. The titty kin was awesome 😺 Love the wood salt and peppers. I liked the first room best, except swans. I'm not a big fan of apples or Avon either.
Nora was very sweet and her mom had a very nice collection. I lost my dad, then 3 dogs, and my mom, in three years. Very expensive and emotional.
Apple with holes you could use as a pen holder, a tooth brush holder, slim handle measuring spoons. Great haul! Loved the swans and the apple canisters. Nice video, hope you do well with your new treasures!

I wonder if my house would look like that if I lived alone. I keep things to a minimum by only having a hutch, a secretary and a steamer trunk. And several things in my living room. I’m sorry to hear that her mother passed. I took care of my mother 5 years in my house and worked full time. I found a care taker for her during the day. After she passed she was cremated. A month later I took her back to the Midwest and my sisters and I had a luncheon for her remaining friends (about 50). She wanted to be sprinkled on my father’s grave. I knew all her wishes so have no regrets. She was a very sweet lady.
She was lucky to have such a caring, compassionate daughter. Thank you for sharing 🤗
yup....when you did the recap the pottery bird looks like Strawberry hill pottery Werkshop. If it is you are looking at a value of $150 to $200 cdn if not more as I have never seen that exact bird

That first item...the bird looks like strawberry hill pottery from Thunderbay but I don't think it is as I've never seen that particular bird. I would recognize it if I saw the mark on the bottom

It was a little sad when she said she needed the money more than the item 😢 I could never go into a home and do a private pick. That’s just my opinion.
