Rage infected humans sprinting at you like Ussain Bolt, after your entire household was invaded and everybody died, through an open field... Also the music is perfect for the tension
The opening is just a masterpiece to me. It's so raw and real, the dilemma of would someone leave their partner to survive (more people would probably run than they like to admit) The way he falls out the window again isn't like an action hero but looks clunky and real. Then the music and the back drop with more and more zombies in the background chasing. One of the best openings to any film.
The director of the first one is Danny Boyle. He also directed the movie Sunshine. It flew under the radar when it came out for some reason. But it’s an amazing movie with a really star studded cast. I can’t recommend it enough
Don abandoning his wife and the kid was a smart move honestly. People always dislike that decision but they forget that this isn't The Walking Dead. These zombies can run and that very fast, the infection itself spreads very quickly and in such a tight room there's no way you can defend anyone, especially not when the entire house is being flooded by the infected.
one of the most iconic movie scenes that opening zombie attack, this is how you open your movie :) its also a good way to do a sequel, they changed the flow of the movie but still kept the essence of the first one :) think everybody is hoping that at some point a sequel to this will come out, there have been lots of rumors and speculations over the years but still nothing officially confirmed :P
I kinda feel bad for the dude at the beginning, imagine not being able to save your wife and having to run away so that one of you can see the kids left behind in another country; I know some people might disagree, but what was he supposed to do? Judo kick the Zombie with his bare hands and carry her to safety?
Exactly how I felt as I thought about it. At first I was like "wow... you aren't even gonna try to save your wife?" but then I realized he was probably thinking about his kids and that them having one parent is better than no parents.
Exactly. This is what a parent does. I would throw my husband overboard for our children. And I’d expect him to say the same. They’re most important, as are supposed to be.
First of, thank you for reacting to the first 28 Days Later and reacting to 28 Weeks Later - the most polarised sequel to its predecessor. Means a lot and when the day comes, I’ll be seeing yer reaction to 28 Years Later soon when it’s out on our own film screens someday. The music piece for Don’s transformation into a zombie and killing his wife was originally used for Frank's death from 28 Days Later and that broke our hearts when we see a guy who is hoping there would be civilization left in the UK after the rage virus devastated the country die after saying his final "I'm sorry" and "I love you" to his daughter. And now, we see Don, a guy who became very regretful for leaving Alice - his wifey and mum of their two kids - to die, saying what would be his final "I'm sorry" and "I love you" to her before turning into a monster who is fighting within his rage, hence the name "rage virus". So Frank and Don have got things in common: they're both fathers, they were married before the Rage virus outbreak, they got infected in a different way (Frank from blood drop from corpse and Don from a kiss with a carrier) and their last words before turning included "I'm sorry" and "I love you". P.S. Frank gets gunned down immediately after he turns by assault rifles while Don gets gunned down with an assault rifle by his daughter later on One last thing I gotta get off my mind: Don Harris should’ve had a redemption story-arc in which Alice doesn’t infect him but a US soldier or two would end up getting infected by Alice. Soldiers would come in on General Stone’s orders and forcibly remove Don outta the room before he would kiss Alice, confused and wondering whats going on until he realizes that she is infected yet immune. The troops then heavily guard the area, with Don heartbroken by whats happened to his wife and driven by guilt for abandoning her. That is until Alice accidentally bokes on one of the soldiers’ face, leading to her very own death at the hands of the two infected (instead of infected Don), getting killed the same way she did and thus causing the Rage virus outbreak in District One. When Andy gets separated from Tammy & Major Scarlet Levy, Don will put pressure on NATO to track his son down and then get chased again by infected who get gunned down by the troops, who also have to kill uninfected. Don would’ve joined not only his two kids (who are grateful he’s alive yet pissed off at him for lying) but also Scarlet and Doyle from the very moment they escape from District One before the firebombing commences. Rest of the film goes as normal - Doyle getting set ablaze by the US troops, Scarlet beaten to death with assault rifle by an Infected - by the end of the storyline I came up with for Don, he will make the ultimate heroic sacrifice by pouring a loada perfume (the rage zombies’ catnip) all over himself, admit his fault and saying his final “I’m sorry” and “I love you” - he would inject himself with his son’s Rage-infected blood so that he would distract a herd/mob of the infected, maybe beat and kill a few or a bunch at a time. Don’s transformation into a zombie in this scene the way it’s filmed and choreographed remains the same in my version but he would’ve looked at his two kids and control his own rage - exhibiting form of sadness knowing that he’s a goner. Then he runs off. The infected crowd would gain upper hand at Don, who then lights himself on fire due to the perfume being flammable, thus setting off chain reaction to the infected crowd being set ablaze, all of em including Don then die at the hail of gunfire by NATO troops. How about them apples?
If you like zombie movies, I recommend you to watch 'The Girl With All The Gifts' (2016). This movie is based on a book/novel. An interesting zombie movie!
The kid started the infection in Paris once it hit the rest of Europe then it became a World War Z scenario, would have been nice to see a sequel just to find out if it spread to all the continent's
In my opinion is not 100% sure, that the kid started the infection in Paris. At the end we see the helicopter down, yes but maybe they survived. Some of the infected, arrived to Paris by their own because they couldn't destroy all of them in London. I insist, for me the kid is not responsable of that because you turn inmediatly into one of them.
I don't mind watching 28 Weeks Later, but Days was better in every aspect to me. Weeks just felt completely hopeless with everyone being killed off and didn't really have anything new to say just the virus starting again.
The whole opening to 28 Weeks Later, is one of the best openings to any horror movie ever.
I was thinking the same thing
It is really good, it's a pressing situation that brings you back into the horrible world of 28
Possibly
Oh fuck, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!
Rage infected humans sprinting at you like Ussain Bolt, after your entire household was invaded and everybody died, through an open field... Also the music is perfect for the tension
the opening of 28 weeks later is the reason i love watching peoples reaction to this movie.

I would hate doing it but I would run as well. There is nothing you can do to save them. I am not superman.
10:06 Nah she didn't bite him
It was the kiss that infected him

If the rest of the film was on the same level as the opening scene this could have been one of the best horror films of all time.

You’re weird. Don’t have a wife or kids if you can’t protect them.

Danny Boyle directed the opening scene, he should've just done the whole movie imo.

The kid started the infection in Paris once it hit the rest of Europe then it became a World War Z scenario, would have been nice to see a sequel just to find out if it spread to all the continent's
It would be very hard to reach the Americas with how fast the infected turn.
Third sequel is coming
Would love to see you check out Dawn of tbe Dead (2004). Another awesome zombie film directed by Zack Snyder
I always wonder where they got the gas for the scooter. Gas goes bad in under 6 months so any gas in yhe scooter wouldn't work.
