The "shell holding thingy" is actually a cylinder, because it is a revolving shotgun. An under barrel, revolver, bullpup shotgun. in real life the shotgun is called the SIX12.

The Heli pilots in KoTH is a true ArmA 3 experience, and I stand by that.
An experience, yes, but often resulting in them clipping a telephone pole or attempting to land on T4 and everyone dying.
I did a bit of research, and the Promet is based off of the MSBS Grot bullpup variant and the under-barrel is the six12 shotgun in under-barrel configuration. A strange weapon to say the least.

You can legitimately have a 30mm or 40mm shell loaded with pellets, flechette darts, or impact rounds. A 37mm translated into "shotgun gauge" is like B¼ga
Also this gun has a grenade launcher variant, both ingame and in real life.

11:47 - IIRC the underslung shotguns were originally known as "Masterkeys" because they were mounted beneath the rifles to be used to breech doors that were locked. They can def kill someone, but not necessarily for combat. Always strikes me as odd to include these in a game where you dont breech doors.

@SonsyWhale I preferred combat patrol to KOTH because there’s not enough teamwork in koth because everyone goes to do there own thing all the time we’re as in combat patrol you have your squad working together with you

Depends on if it's a smooth bore shot gun or not if it rides the sides and under barrel shotguns were made to be a light weight version of the door breacher shotgun but it didn't really work out like that lol

that not "HE MIGHT" in arma3 bullet penetration are wtf , with zafir you can shoot trough 2 walls ez, with 9.3lmg no care about walls
@@mycreepersful oh, i know the 9.3 can shoot through 2 walls, though arma's bullet pen is pretty realistic (even if its calibers and recoil aren't) drywall doesn't stop anything which is what i suspect they based those residential buildings on, the concrete will stop more, and steel military buildings stop the most, Dyslecxi has a great video on that from a few years ago (tho it doesn't test the 9.3 since they weren't out yet)

I'm nobody to judge if a game is realistic. I have more than a thousand hour on arma because I live in the Mediterranean basin. When I play altis or stratis I feel like home with the cicada !
Shotgun school: Shot is held in a “wad” until it exits (like a plastic cup). That is all inside the shell. Once the wad and shot leaves the barrel the wad slows and falls. Shot keeps going and lands in a random pattern. At close range (5m) the spread is like a softball. Maybe smaller.

Shotguns bbs's don't necessarily fire in a circle. Will maybe somewhat, it kinda depends on how they're packed inside the shell.

This video made me feel better about my piloting skills, it's pretty easy to just, not crash.
I try to fly somewhat "realistically" by dropping guys off near the zone with cover and concealment.
try the promet MR, the long boi one, it actually has the lowest recoil of any of the 6.5 guns at least to my eye, the recoil is a bit more vertical then the MX SW, but less horizontal, perfect for quick semi auto fire as it comes back to almost the same point after each shot where the SW walks left and right a bit more. still limited to 30 round though.

After checking out the U.S. Army’s NGSW program and all of a sudden I wonder if the Arma developers have insider information on future weapons programs.
shotguns in arma have always been the least effective thing you could be using. but damn do they sound good and put a smile on your face when you finally get a kill with it

Try playing on the hardcore KOTH server. That's a real man's server.
Really loved the first person mode. Rewards sneaky players more. I can adapt to the third-person over-the-wall views, but it gets annoying.

I have had ARMA 3 for a few months and you make it look easy or I just suck at the game
You probably already know this, but if you double tap C by default it will make sure you keep your weapon up while running and only lower it when you're sprinting

Hm cap zone used to be a circle if I don't remember correctly... Anyway I rather like this map. You can mount some very interesting attacks on it. I'd love to see what a dedicated and disciplined team with good communication could do in a match towards a rag-tag enemy.

Just a heads up when you get team assist it just means you’re near a friend that killed someone not necessarily the guy that you were shooting at
