Good intro Andrew , basically they don't want farmers full stop. It's about time we all stand up for farmers and show this shower of S__T we need farmers.
Thank you Andrew for another informative video, especially explaining the effects of today’s budget! Sadly we live in a country that seems to be focused on the urban population. Very frustrating and in times when they should be doing everything to support our farmers and growers in feeding our country. There is so little understanding in Westminster. You on the other hand deserve that bottle of red tonight 😉
Trouble now in this nanny state we live in people think food comes from a supermarket but have no idea how it got there, they dont tell kids where meat comes from in case it upsets them so they think it comes from a plastic packet, I despair for the future I really do.
Well said my friend. The budget today was an absolute disgrace. They are so far disconnected from real life and have no grasp of the British agricultural industry in the slightest.
This is only the start as they have hated the farming community since the fuel protests.Maybe we should be more like farmers in France and bring the country to a halt.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Can you not set a meeting up with Farage, love him or loathe him he's the only answer, and before anyone kicks of and says he got us into this mess with brexit, it was that fat blonde prick boris and his cronies that fcuked that one up, the people are slowly but surely being heard thanks to Farage.

Glad to hear your voice and your strong feelings about the government they are absolutely shocking lies and more lies stay strong maybe a more robust response would help if only all farmers would stick together but that never happens not like in France best regards the retired farmer
I applaud your insight on the damage this government is doing to British agriculture I think farmers should stand to together and take action with a strike and blockades of food distribution centres and just watch how fragile the supply chain is when 67million people think food might be short especially three weeks before Christmas here's hoping something will happen farmers for action !!!
As the average farm size in England is 88ha (around 217ac) and with the current value range of agricultural land, a farm has to be a LONG way below the average farm size in order to be exempt. A curious definition of "family farm" to say the least. The likely consequence is going to be a lot of farms having to be sold, bought up by non-farmers, covered in trees/turbines/solar panels and the burgeoning food security crisis we've already blundered into will accelerate. Madness.
I had no time for the last Conservative government but in abolishing APR you will see the breakup of farms and the land sold being bought up by big business. This will In my view have a detrimental impact on communities, food production (land being used for solar or carbon offset etc) and many farms will become uneconomic as farms get passed down. This shows a total lack of understanding of the industry and it will have a devastating impact. Why didn’t the chancellor go after the likes of Amazon to get what will be relatively small sums on the scale of government spending but will have a huge impact on farming families up and down the country.
We live less that one hundred miles from John Deere's Coporate Headquarters and have mostly John Deere equipment. You do a great job farming, and have like new equipment! You represent farmers and farming worldwide very well!

Absolutely made it to the end no problem Andrew and no need to apologise in any way shape of form, You are the type of people we need to hear from telling the truth , l agree with every single word you said, The other good thing that could happen is that we get a lot of better weather which would be a big bonus, we have to keep our heads up and hope for the best, good luck to all the farmers out there and a class video as usual Andrew
Always stay for the whole video Andrew excellent as usual. I can see your genuine concern in your body language. Very worrying times for tenants or owners but i suppose we will soldier on hoping things will change in the not to distant future . All the best.
Labour keeps going on about the black hole in the budget. Yes the Tories wasted a lot of money during the pandemic, but I'd liked to have seen how Starmer and his turds would have done anything different. Farmers are hard working people for very little reward, they work all hours. I see farmers in my village out early in the morning and late into the night. Penalising an industry that provides food for the nation and beyond is outrageous. Labour, absolute a**eholes! I'm not even a farmer, I come from a farming background and feel so strongly about the security this industry needs!
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Let's hope they see sense and reverse this in the coming days/weeks. All the way to the end. I still cannot understand why the government would sooner pay farmers to not grow food, when as a country we import so much food. I understand we can’t grow all the food the country needs but surely the incentives should be the other way around. I also understand that as custodians of the countryside, the farmers should be doing their best to upkeep the countries natural habitats and wildlife but I don’t see as the balance should be to seemingly, put whatever you want into SFI schemes
I have a sinacall thought may be the government thinks the one million I H thresh hold will make farm land cheaper to buy so G B energy can buy up farms for Solar farms to meet net zero ???
Speaking up for the custodians of the countryside, 100% behind you Andrew. The time has now come to stand together for our amazing industry which is massively under appreciated. We need the politicians to realise that farming in the UK must be protected so food security is secured for future generations.
Agree with all you said, farming is a massive part of our lives for food production but also for the economy. We supply building materials to a huge amount of farmers and assorted businesses linked so who will now invest in the family farm, very worrying indeed😡
devastating budget......here we have 150 acres, parents 91 and 88 yrs old...sickening to think that we're the 3rd generation to have worked this land and the money we've saved up is being squandered on the sort of rubbish (and it is pure trash!!!) that the Labour Party support and promote.
This could be the death of centuries of family run farms!😢 Time for positive force action before all our Agricultural land is owned by farmers paid to provide electricity instead of food. Great video Andrew! Thankyou
It is crap Andrew you’re right. But I do feel your optimism about a new government in five years time scrapping this is very optimistic. It’s like prices, when they go up they stay up. I can’t think of many examples where prices come down certainly not down to the level they were, originally. Fertiliser for example.
Great update andrew, labour government clearly dont do farming!! Solo doing its usual good job, your overtime bill must be high for the weekend!!! Always make it to the end.
Well said Andrew, never apologise (It's a sign of weakness) unfortunately these changes may have already have had an effect. I don't know the details or the source but if true it proves that this government is hell bent on destroying this Country's food security. 😠😠
When its realised how important farming is to the country it will be too late, we will be controlled by overseas price rigging against us knowing we are helpless to respond and defend ourselves, no doubt they will blame the previous government as the get out of jail free card. Have faith Andrew you and the farming community are made of stronger morals than they could dream of having. Well done.
Feel sorry for you Andrew. We had the same issue here in Nz when we had that god awful thing Ardern and labour in power. It’s socialism and envy politics at its worst. Excellent review of the budget, hopefully the government get overturned soon, they done nothing for rural businesses, only lining their pockets. They have no idea on food production they think shelves in supermarkets produce what we need every day. Good video Andrew.

Andrew farming is a tough job and farmers are a tough breed, we were here before the bastards came to power and we’ll be here when they’ve gone, we then have to hope common sense prevails with a more moderate government
Well said Andrew , it’s unbelievable that a government that supposedly set out to give the nation a budget for growth and for workers can get it so incredibly wrong . Not only are they putting food security at greater risk and potentially damaging the rural economy beyond repair but the rise in employers NI contribution and the lowering of the threshold will add £1000 per employee as a cost to a business , how on earth does that encourage the small to medium sized risk taking business owners of this country to expand employment possibilities. The incompetence and lack of understanding of the real world beggars belief .
Incredible isn’t it Dave? They are the ones to benefit the increase in the minimum wage through higher income tax. Unreal they think we are that stupid. 🤬🤬
unbelievable but believable if that makes sense. Maybe British farmers should take a leaf out of the French farmers book and begin mass protests until Reeve puts right this huge wrong she has done to our amazing farmers.
Hopefully the weather is better than the depressing budget. Baked beans needed with the John Deere combine. Just wondering if they would be better grown higher like potatoes in our wet climate. 🤔
Few tears will be shed for us farmers, unfortunately, as so few understand the emotions in particular that being brought up on a farm instills in us. Wonder what tax the treasury is already getting from us. If you've much diversification, like i have, then you're paying VAT each quarter rather than claiming it. That will increase as we all innovate and diversify to survive. Chuck in the lowering and soon to disappear BPS, and surely, if ELMS is excluded as "public money for public goods", then we are contributing to the treasury like never before. So taking more via IHT is greedy. One positive for us all is that we'll have those often put off conversations about succession decades sooner.
I implore you and others to heed your advice Andrew and get tough with the govt. Start farming against them not for them. Trouble is that's going to mean withdrawing your land and farm from any government supported or linked payment subsidy. Not sure how many farmers will join the crusade...
Hi Andrew it's no consultation but we have the same thing here in Aus all the fat cats make some descions that are well you wonder how they come to what ever they are thinking but it's not there money .
Made it to the end always a good watch, do you remeber me from the forage aid campaign, I drove the fastrack from y farms to top side of Bristol few years ago that was now all the best Andrew
@ I’m sure it’s y farm partnership that massive dairy unit near Shelton mallet don’t think they have cows anymore behind the massive quarry, John yeomans it was definitely there just looked it up on the map, had a 3230 with yellow wheels and a new Bailey silage trailer, would be good to catch up again soon, all the best
@ no I can’t say I know him, I was still in brymore school then, but was 16 at the time of the run, remember it well will rhodes my name is, I would say you’ll remember if you saw me it’ll be 10 years next February, time flys
Don't hold back on your Budget thoughts! 😁 You'll have to try and work hand to mouth when they lift that beet. Drill it as they lift it? Saw a rummon set up in a filed near King's Lynn other day. 2 x 6 row ROPA harvesters, 2x 8R's on a trailer, 9RX with a plough and another 8R on a power harrow combination. Lot of money in there. I don't how much they covered during the day, but a good effort non the less.
Grandad used to say farmers traditionally voted conservative but always did well under Labour but this was after the war when food was important mr wilson and callahan knew the importance of food the trouble with this lot they are so short sighted literally bighting the hand that feeds them the trouble is it could come back and bight them
This government are a joke, except not in the humorous sense of the word. Farmers must rank as one of THE most hard-working groups of people. I just hope this sh1t government are gone before they ruin the country beyond repair!
Got to the end Andrew with no problem. As usual, a cracking video. Good to see the RX working well. Glad you got the beet away, looked like there was minimal mess using the 360, well done Barry. Your frustration is felt by many Andrew, I just hope it's not a trend that leads to destruction of another industry in this country. It was once known as Great Britain, I am not so sure about the Great anymore. Anyway, be careful, I see Micheal is hosting the show whilst PX James is away. Good to see, there is a group of farmers now on TH-cam that bring good content that's educational, interesting and fun to watch, many thanks to you all. As usual, looking forward to Sundays update.
I subcribed to your channel last year and find your videos very interesting and informative, after today's events,is it time for farmers to stand up for their rights and take their protest to Downing Street?Viewer from Ireland.
this Gov just put a nail in the box of food production and put a hell of a lot of farmers nearer to taking their own life when the farming industry is on its knees at this moment and has been for a hell of a long time
What about all the people who depend on farmers and agriculture for their livelihood ? Machinery manufacturing, Seed merchants, Fertiliser etc etc , the list goes on. This terrible budget will do nothing but destroy confidence, so sad . Rachel Reeves wants taking to one side and told to have a rethink 🤬
By coincidence - or perhaps consensus - I also have a bottle of Merlot on the go and I couldn’t agree more. So short-sighted of Labour. All we’ve heard since their election victory is ‘don’t blame us, blame the last government.’ It’s an oven-ready excuse for lack of progress and a lack of inclination to make good on all of their promises and reassurances. Shocking. According to the old adage ‘there’s nothing certain in life but death and taxes.’ Perhaps that should be ‘incorrect weather forecasts and taxes!’
Heard you on Radio 2 at lunch time today. Thought you put your case across very well. Anyway, if we didn't know before we certainly know now what this Labour governments plan is for British agriculture. As someone has already mentioned, Socialism, the politics of envy. It is not helped by the fact that none of the labour cabinet has ever run a business of their own.
i know little if anything about taxation BUT if a farmer has to sell land to pay inheritance tax then would the land in question be subject to Capitals Gains tax ? If yes the farmer would have to pay tax to pay the inheritance tax. So TWO lots of tax.
All they are doing is reducing the allowances they give you like set aside for growing nothing. we as home owners still have to pay inheritance tax over 350k and CGT on second homes etc. you have had it good with all the hand outs, farms your size should be able to stand on your own two feet My family farmed on the Wolds for 60 plus years and made a go of it with no hand outs just hard graft.
While they’re still talking about the budget, get yourself on Look North and explain to the wider public what yesterday meant for you farmers. As you said, a big combine can be 700,000 and add in a couple of decent tractors and you’ve got your 1 million. Look at James Peck with 4 combines, that’s 2.5 million straight away. You get things across in a way people understand, you’re a dam good ambassador for agriculture. You need to block off Whitehall with loads of tractors, I’m damn sure the French would! Keep them vids coming!
Andrew, I have mixed feelings on the changes to Agricultural inheritance tax relief. It will impact me and my sons but I do think the 100% relief was fair in wider society.
Of course I made to the end.Getting rid of farmers is part of the WEF plan and Starmer is well in with Klaus and Bill.
Socialism, the Politics of Envy!

Next year they will be on the heath. 😊👍
@ Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Dead right, time to be nice has finished.
You'll be pulling out of CS, SFI etc?
@tomvalentine9985 If the payments are cut, yes, if not, no.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard that'll show 'em
How did they even get in is beyond me me
Hi Andrew it's no consultation but we have the same thing here in Aus all the fat cats make some descions that are well you wonder how they come to what ever they are thinking but it's not there money .
Makes you wonder if all governments are in discussion.
Andrew promise me that if Starmer and robber reeves break down outside the farm you will let Narla chase the buggers all the way to Marston.
Made it to the end always a good watch, do you remeber me from the forage aid campaign, I drove the fastrack from y farms to top side of Bristol few years ago that was now all the best Andrew
From y farms?
@ I’m sure it’s y farm partnership that massive dairy unit near Shelton mallet don’t think they have cows anymore behind the massive quarry, John yeomans it was definitely there just looked it up on the map, had a 3230 with yellow wheels and a new Bailey silage trailer, would be good to catch up again soon, all the best
I member that dairy unit now but afraid not you, sorry. Do you know Graham Glasper? He was another who helped us and I speak/text him regularly.
@ no I can’t say I know him, I was still in brymore school then, but was 16 at the time of the run, remember it well will rhodes my name is, I would say you’ll remember if you saw me it’ll be 10 years next February, time flys
Despite the trauma and floods, they were good times, amazing lifelong friends ships formed. I still speak to James Winslade regularly too.
Wow, lots of £’s!
Grandad used to say farmers traditionally voted conservative but always did well under Labour but this was after the war when food was important mr wilson and callahan knew the importance of food the trouble with this lot they are so short sighted literally bighting the hand that feeds them the trouble is it could come back and bight them
"Farmers are working people," too right, but the wrong sort of.
I always make it to the end of your very informative videos, and agree with your views on the budget. Absolute disgrace.
Cheers Adrian.
Very interesting video, totaly agree with you, perhaps more countryside marches in London " if it would do any good". 👍
Way too Risky to Protest even peacefully.
Time had finished to be nice.
I subcribed to your channel last year and find your videos very interesting and informative, after today's events,is it time for farmers to stand up for their rights and take their protest to Downing Street?Viewer from Ireland.
You’re right, rumour is things are happening.
this Gov just put a nail in the box of food production and put a hell of a lot of farmers nearer to taking their own life when the farming industry is on its knees at this moment and has been for a hell of a long time
What about all the people who depend on farmers and agriculture for their livelihood ? Machinery manufacturing, Seed merchants, Fertiliser etc etc , the list goes on. This terrible budget will do nothing but destroy confidence, so sad .
Rachel Reeves wants taking to one side and told to have a rethink 🤬
Time to get the Trust's set up and leave everything to the Trustees.
We’ve had one here for over 20 years.
Thats the way forward without a doubt
The problem is they are cocooned in London and have absolutely no idea what's happening in the rest of the country 😡
They want Big Corp owning the land, the likes of BlackRock.
Naive??? They hate farmers, what's so difficult to understand about that?
Well said.👍
Your waffle was bang on this s labour party don't give a damm about farming lets hope for the future
we new it was coming its allways worth watching till the end
👍😊
I’ve done lots of radio and paper interviews yesterday and today. I’m in touch with LN. Thank you.
Well said👏
Well said, this government is an utter shower.
Wildlife trusts will be rubbing their hands . I could cry.
Andrew, I have mixed feelings on the changes to Agricultural inheritance tax relief. It will impact me and my sons but I do think the 100% relief was fair in wider society.
