- I want this girl on the Iron Throne & that's that. If you don't agree, you are free to FIGHT ME in the comments (and by fight, I mean have a healthy and civil debate with me)
Sansa doesn't want the Iron Throne but it might be her only chance of having safety. No man could ever use, beat, manipulate or rape her again. And arguably, if she called in all her loyalties she could have a very good chance at taking the throne by force (the exact way Robert Baratheon did it).

Sansa Stark is by far the strongest character in GoT. There is literally no one else who survived the horrors she had to endure, and yet you never hear her complain about it. She never gives long monologues about her sad life, she just keeps going, and every bit of pain makes her stronger instead of breaking her. Her feminine strength and internal growth maybe aren't as fun to watch as girls swinging their swords and riding dragons, but they're far more admirable. Sometimes, surviving is even harder work than fighting. Sansa will survive until the very end, and she will have a role in the rebuilding of post-war Westeros, I'm sure of it. Either as the Queen in the North or the Queen of Seven Kingdoms, Sansa Stark will win in the end. Like Tyrion once said: "Lady Stark, you may survive us yet."
I couldn't agree with this comment more! I even had to use Daenerys' monologue about how hard her life was (because she gives them a lot) because even though Sansa has been through so much, she doesn't complain about it all. She gets on with it and looks after other people. She would be the best queen out of all of them, in the North or the whole of Westeros!

I hope you're ashamed of yourself, and if you're not you should be. "Anti woman"?? What does that even mean? Do you actually use a word "bitch"? How absolutely disgraceful. Do you judge victims of rape and abuse in real life as well? You think that victims don't inspire others? Victims are, in fact, the most inspirational people out there. It's so easy to talk down from your soap box and be "brave" when you have no real fear and danger to fight off. A woman who keeps standing after suffering abuse is the biggest inspiration there is, and I feel so sorry for you, because you can't grasp it. Thankfully there are more people who agree with me (read 100 likes) than with you. I don't want to imagine what this world would turn into otherwise.

I adore Sansa. She's been through so much and hasn't had the benefit of swords, dragons or fighting skills to survive. She's had to use her ability to learn, adapt and maneuver. All from the tender age of 11 (books) and 12 in the show. She reminds me more of real girls/young women than any other female in the show. I do hope and actually think that she will rule Winterfell/the North in the end (perhaps with someone else) however I don't wish for her to be some ice queen who never knows love/marriage/family. It's what she always dreamed of, much more than ruling.

This is great!!! I really want sansa to not just survive, but win this game, but I refuse to let her sat on that fugly chair, it was made by aegon the conqueror and sansa is not a conqueror, she is a leader and the most capable ruler out of the 4 contenders (jon, dany, cersei and her). That chair brought nothing but war and suffering. All of the men that sat on the throne after king aerys died horribly. I want her to destroyed the chair and command and rule the 7 kingdom like they did in winterfell and the north, not in some high-above-all-people throne.

Even though I have long disliked Sansa and found her to make bad designs regularly and was often a brat, she tops my list for who would be best to sit on the iron throne. After all "The good thing about making mistakes is you get to learn from them." "Then you must be very wise by now."
Sansa has the strength and cunning to play the games, the kindness and charisma to make allies, the honor to make the hard choices and she want's to be The Queen. "Everyone enjoys what they do best."

I'LL FIGHT YOU! I don't want Sansa on the Iron Throne, she's too good for that. I want her to be the Queen in the North, an independent country that bows to no other king or queen :D I've wanted Sansa as the Queen of Westeros for the longest time but I think she deserves to stay home and rule over her own people, far away from the wretched South. Nonetheless, she's my favourite character
That's even better! (This is the easiest won fight of all time haha). I agree, I want the north to be independent more than anything & never have to answer to a foreign leader again! I'd love for Sansa to rule the North as the Starks have done for thousands of years but this time, wearing a crown like the kings of winter did and reclaiming their birthright as more than just wardens of the north! I think that would be the perfect end for her. She has spent so long trying to get back home to the north and to Winterfell, it would be strange for her to end up back in King's Landing (though I wouldn't put it past GRRM)

This is sheer brilliance. The use of the quotes from her Septa, Tywin/Tommen speech, Dany's "raped and defiled" speech, the music, the scenes... everything is spot on. I really like that you also used clips from earlier seasons too, showing her inner strength even this early, not just from S5-6 onward. The music is absolutely spot on with the clips and quotes.
"What about strength?" over the clip of Sansa slowling glancing up to her father's head; "Remember your lessons?" over the clip where Sansa claimed she was loyal to Joffrey and the beatings, "Justice" over Ramsay's death... Dany's speech really was the nail in the coffin for me, god the chills, and it reminds me of the many parallels their journeys have. Even Sansa's "Thank you for your many lessons - I will never forget them" reminds me of Dany's "Thank you for teaching me this lesson" (when she finally opens Xaro Xhoan Daxos' vault and sees it's empty) at the end of the second season.
I want her on the IT too, or at least queen in the North, because I feel she is one of the very few who truly deserves it. As early as S2 Sansa is showing concern for the smallfolk in tough times ( when Shae tells her that the men who almost raped her wanted to hurt her because her horse eats better than their children, her immediate answer was "I would've given them bread if I had it", for some reason this one always goes straight to my heart).

Sansa's character arc has put her on the path to rule a kingdom and marry for love. GRRM promised a bittersweet ending; Sansa's sweet destiny serves to balance GRRM's bitter finish (the death of most of our beloved characters).
From birth, Sansa wished for the fabricated fairy tale all noble ladies dreamed. Ned spoke these words to Arya (which more aptly apply to Sansa) in season one, "You will marry a high lord and rule his castle. And your sons shall be knights and princes and lords." This defines the role noble ladies serve in Westeros. Noble girls cement alliances and breed the ruling class. Sansa wished for this life, the life of a queen, until the her time with Joffrey exposed the ugly life of noble politics. Sansa has rejected the life of a pawn; Kings Landing, Joffrey, Cersei, Petry, Ramsey opened her eyes to the unhappy and impotent life of a brood mare. Sansa will plot the course of her own choosing.
Sansa studied politics with adept masters and false rulers: Petry, Cersei, Tyrion, Joffrey, Ramsey, and Ned. A tortured life has prepared Sansa to lead nobly. She is ready for "the great game now". Sansa's course will be to rule; and to do so for the betterment of her people.
Sansa was never free to marry for love. She was merely a political pawn. Her prearranged and forced unions led to nothing but unhappiness: Joffrey, Tyrion, Ramsey, Petry. Sansa will break from tradition and not marry for political advantage, but rather for happiness. To a good man: brave, gentle and strong. Not many of those men in Westeros.
If there is bittersweet justice in GRRM's world, Sansa will marry Gendry and continue the Stark and Baratheon alliance. Sansa won't marry Gendry to honor the bond between two dead men, but because she loves the admirable and hopefully legitimized Gendry.
The Lannisters ripped the Stark family part; as symbolized by the division of Ice, the Stark family's Valaryian steel sword. Gendry can heal the Stark family. The blacksmith, who trained under Tobho Mott, re-forges "Oathkeeper (Ned)" and "Widow's Wail (Catelyn)" back into Ice. The Stark family is now whole again.
Sansa will rule as the Wardeness of the North, with Gendry by her side (traditional female/male roles be dammed). A Stark must always be in Winterfell.
Robert's Rebellion - the precursor to the Game of Thrones - was set in motion when fate prevented the marriage of a Baratheon to a Stark. The story will come full circle, just as Robert foretold in season one. Robert said to Ned "I have a son. You have a daughter. We'll join our houses." Gendry and Sansa will live happily ever after, as a sign that good things can happen in Westeros.
All bitter and no sweet will be an unsatisfying ending.
Write it into existence GRRM.

ATimeForWolves I agree,this sums up my point of view on Sansa as well. As for Gendry,he may be quite a good option for Sansa. In the show he's already a well established character. In the Winds of Winter chapter Martin introduces Harry the Heir,but he doesn't make a good first impression. He's an arrogant asshole,who thinks himself better than her,cause he's been told she's a LF's bastard. And he's a womanizer with a soft spot for pretty faces.
Gendry knows hardship,his life hasn't been easy. He didn't have a family or childhood,as his mom died when he was little. He's a simple guy,but a good one.
It would've been quite an ironic end for Sansa's arc. She started as a girl who wanted love of a handsome prince,who wasn't as good as she took him for,believing in fairytales. She was naive,but had some genuine affection for him,and he didn't deserve it.
He didn't respect her, didn't care for her or her opinions,humiliated her in front of his subjects. He didn't realise Sansa was a good material for a future queen,people would've loved her(as they loved Margaery). She would've truly cared for them and used her power to help them. A queen like that would be a blessing for him. But he was too stupid to understand it.
Imagine her ending up with King Robert's true heir. Handsome,brave,strong and good. Who would've respected her and cared for her. They would've become a family they both wanted to have. She would've made a lord out of a bastard boy.

I have a couple different dream endings for GoT: 1 - that Sansa gets the Iron Throne and is the best queen the 7 kingdoms has ever seen OR 2 - Dany gets the Iron Throne, but the North secedes from the 7 kingdoms and she reigns as Queen in the North for many years to come, with her and Dany co-ruling, in a way, and the realm knows true peace for the first time since before Robert's Rebellion.
I prefer the first one! My second would be no iron throne so everyone is ruling themselves individually and Sansa rules the North :D

Okay let me just say this, Arya Stark is my favorite stark sister. But I don't want her one the iron throne. They are both strong in there own ways, (like I said before, ying and yang) but although I think both would have survived the other's story, neither would have survived it the same way. I'm a Sansa fan, and I'm just making a wild prediction here, but if the rumors are true and she doesn't survive the game of thrones, I think she will have the option to flee winterfell before the whites invade, but she will stay behind to die in her home. It would be graceful and glorious, but waaaay too early and sad. She would tell Brienne to leave her, because she "will always be a stark"

Honestly, I don't want to see her on the Iron Throne. Not because she doesn't deserve it, but because .. I think her place is in Winterfell, and a Stark must always be in Winterfell, etc. I know Bran and Arya are both alive, but Bran is also the Three Eyed Raven. And while I can see Arya always coming back to Winterfell, I'm not sure she'd necessarily want to STAY there after the Great War/battles are over. I'd LIKE to see Dany and/or Jon on the Iron Throne, with Sansa ruling as Wardeness/maybe Queen in the North. Great video, though! :)

Yeah, I think they won't like each other. Sansa is very much for Northern independence (as she should be seen as it is what Robb and mother fought and died for & what she bled for) whereas Daenerys wants all seven kingdoms. Also, I don't think that Sansa will be very happy that Jon bent the knee to her so I can see a lot of conflict coming between the three of them.

When I heard Daenerys giving crap about how she was sold like a broodmare, raped and defiled, I was cringing so hard thinking to myself "Bitch that is bullshit!". She had men falling at her feet giving her shit for free. What she experienced is like a bad pedicure comparing what other female characters in the show have been trough, Sansa especially.
Maja Boskovic I love Sansa (far more than Daenerys), but do not forget that she was also forced out of her home, abused by someone she loved (Viserys), sold to the highest bidder (Drogo), and raped as well. Their stories mirror each other quite often, and the books they are referred to as fire and ice, two sides of the same coin.
Maja Henriksen - I agree! Daenerys can't have it both ways. She can't be in love with Drogo and say that he was her everything but yet he was a rapist, her rapist at the same time. She has to pick. & the rest of it was just pathetic. She was sold to Drogo but loved him, Sansa certainly did not love Ramsay & did not form a bond with him like Daenerys did with Drogo. She was betrayed by Jorah but not really, he sold her secrets before he swore his allegiance to her and by the time she figured it out, he was in love with her and was no longer selling her secrets. She was in chains for like 10 minutes and then was rescued by her magical fire powers. Daenerys has had everything given to her on a plate and Sansa has had none of that! Totally agree with you.
Abi Wilson - Daenerys doesn't remember being forced out of her home. She was born on Dragonstone and then went to Braavos. Sansa actually has the pain of remembering the happy times that she had at Winterfell before it was all taken from her. It is sad that Daenerys did not have any of that but that was the fault of her father. Yes, Viserys was emotionally and sometimes physically abusive to Daenerys but nowhere near to the extent that Sansa was abused by Joffrey or Ramsay. Daenerys was indeed sold to highest bidder but that would have happened anyway, even if she had grown up as the daughter of a king. She would probably have been married to Viserys and if not, "sold" to the son of a high lord. Her fate would have been the same either way. Whether or not she was 'raped' is highly debatable.
Loads of people's stories mirror each other. Jaime/Sansa, Jon/Sansa, Daenerys/Jon, Sansa/Lyanna, Arya/Lyanna etc. It doesn't mean they are anything like each other. Also no they are not often referred to as fire and ice in the books and are not two sides of the same coin.

I love love love your videos but coming from a very personal standpoint, as a survivor of rape myself, Daenerys very much can "have it both ways". I know that this is a fictional story, yes, but hearing something like that hurts all the same. Many women who are raped are raped by men they love, men they are in relationships with. I think it was beautiful character growth for me to see her finally acknowledge that she WAS raped, and to reclaim that experience. You can very much still love someone who abused you, it happens quite frequently, actually. Sansa and Dany are both amazing and strong women and there is no need to pit them against each other and say that Sansa has had it worse than Dany (or vise versa). That is something in the real world that happens to women and it being transferred over to a fictional world makes it no less harmful or disgusting. Saying things like this about Daenerys and what she has gone through, namely her relationship with Drogo, is very harmful to real women in the real world and survivors of rape like myself.
EDIT: Dany's speech to Jon on Dragonstone made me cry, it was very empowering to hear. I loved the way you juxtaposed it with Sansa's storyline, but there is no need to pit their stories against each other.
Makayla Thee i am really sorry to hear about your story but Daenarys in season 1 just went on and on and on saying to Drogo my moon and stars and blah blah blah so she cant say about her DEAD husband that he was just a rapist also she forgot to mention to Jon that Drogon was named after him but she told him about Rhaegan and Viserion,Daenarys this season just manipulated Jon all the way with tears and seduction thats her thing as Cersei told Sansa that tears and sex are womens weapons she just uses everything she is the same as Cersei
I'm pretty sure the child (daughter?) of Jon and Dany will sit on the throne, Sansa will rule the North
That's certainly a viable theory but no one knows how it will end and we can all dream!
