Absolutely love the snowmobile content. I'm not really into side by sides because they're way too expensive so I think doing content like this will appeal to more people. I'd love to see the same kind of thing in the summer with $1000 jet skis!
Not a fan of a 40k sxs, but like 20k sleds you can maybe ride a few times a year unless you travel? Just busting your balls, I have both and it’s it’s a terrible use of money but that’s why I work. Lol
@CHASE Land Management My main point was that I don't own a sxs that's worth 5 times what my car is worth, but I could easily go out and buy one of the snowmobiles these guys are riding. Barrier to entry is pretty low. Also, I live 5 minutes away from sxs blog, and if you go a few hours up north there's snow 5 months out of the year. Driving a few hours doesn't cost that much.
@@ChaseLandMgmt well depends where you live . if someone buy a sled they dont get much snow that on them . there a lot of places in US get a lot of snow , look how much snow Mammoth CA got this year i think it was over 600 inches just saying
I’m calling it. These guys will all have pumped out 850’s next year with billet parts and everything else you can imagine. Sledding is one damn addictive sport.
The TRA blew up simply because it was due for a rebuild. The fiber bushings were worn out, causing the clutch to bind and wobble on its axis. When properly maintained and set up, it's probably the best primary clutch out there.
I'm so glad that clutch didn't blow apart!!! Thanks for it locking up so you could find the issue before it was a bad deal! Love all the content guys, the rc racing is highlarious, sxs content, and lately the sleds, been watching since the garage day's and never disappointed 🤙
I’m really enjoying all of the new four wheeler and snowmobile Contant. It’s bringing me back to my childhood and every time you put one up I can’t wait for it. Good job guys.
I sold my 2001 ZRT 800 LE Triple/Triple D&D pipes 2 months before their snowmobile challenge lol.... only had 2300 miles on it, 220 studs. I live about 1 hour from their shop too T_T. Wouldve loved to see them use it on the channel lmao. I wouldve sold it to doug for 1000$ just because i love this channel so much.
I haven't been on a snowmobile in over 48 years it was my uncle Ralph's ARTIC CAT I believe it was a Panther or something along those lines. I know it's seat looked like it was a cheetah or jaguar print. I was 6 years old so I thought it was awesome
Lol Steve's always been there whether he was more of a hang around in background or actually to fill the seat for some videos I remember hellyeah I know ol Steve can rip!
I love the sled content boys and I would absolutely love to see you guys get an old thundercat to put up against the vmax and SRX cause that would be sweet
Love you guys! Content is wicked! This sled thing is just awesome. I find my self looking at old sleds on Kijiji. Bet you guys never thought you would have such a great time on the old relics! Cheers from Canada!
There is a reason Doo had those pipes for a short time only in the 98 Mach. They scavenge exhaust up in the points, which causes blowback off throttle and goes boom. 3 sleds in our group all went down. One had 12 pistons, 2 heads, and various cylinders. 99 or aftermarket has normal looking pipes... find a set of those pipes. The 99's and later had no issues running them.
The mach z primary clutch has a worn out governor cup and has allowed the roller arms to get stuck holding the gov cup out . The bolt is definetly not broken .. good luck love the channel and the content with the old sleds!
Wouldn’t matter what you guys do sxs,jet ski, snowmobile or whatever I’d still watch it. It’s more about how you do it & fun you have. Good to see Steve there now. His dry sense of humour & the comments his makes are classic. Kind of like Matt. Keep up the good times dudes.👍🍻
so funny that the one you both were saying, well this isn't worth much and needs so much works. ends up running good and not much issues and the one you think is good, breaks down and is slower. haha. good ol market places. love it. keep it up!
Love this content! Now get a 1997 thundercat 900 and see if it can own that tripple ski doo, we must know. Everyone thumbs up this if you want to see that!!!
I had a clutch bind up like that, I thought I seized it up also, it ended up being the clutch was still engaged and didn’t disengage when I left off throttle, I ended up spinning it over by hand, and then it disengaged and hit my hand almost broke it, was swelled up for couple days lol
I need you guys to do a spring multi day ripping the trails on side by sides and 4 wheeler/ camping on the trail and giving us that golden content!! I know everyone would love that. The boys roughing it in the wilderness
Those mach zs are bad ass sleds they will hit 120 mph + stock depending on clutch settings an how healthy the engine an belt is. You can make that yamaha a monster to with some work .
Grew up in the UP I now live in Livonia, Michigan back in the day, race old SRX in the summertime. It was grass drags. In the winter time it was in the UP. Calumet Michigan.
My stepfather before he passed had a SRX 700 triple. Still say one of the baddest sleds on the planet. Looked almost identical to the sxr. Also during the compression test with the skidoo it sounds like RoboCop's gun. 💪
Ever heard of a sx viper 700 triple black head with the race motor in a trail sled (brand new) was not told when ordering it in 2001 for 2002. Till recently, trying to get the right crank with right bearings and the right connecting rods. They are long like 7.25 inches
As an ex-owner of a 98 F3 600 3x3 my back hurts just seeing that chassis again. And the TRA is the redhead of the clutching world, get a P85 on it and move forward. Have fun at ERX, great place.
Next time, tip your sled on its side, undo the 4 bolts that hold your suspension to your tunnel, and you can swing the track and suspension all the way out from under the sled, completely remove suspension if you want.... It takes 2 minutes and is very simple
While you guys are on the sled kick, can we get some thundercat 1000 action? We all know that was THE pinnacle of muscle sleds, great for straight line stuff, not so much turns 😂 man I miss my 98
Yeah my ZRT was nasty. Progressive shift helix with springs, pipes, and carb work when you pinned the go lever she didn't set the skis down til you let go.
Wow , not only coming to my state, MinneSNOWta, but to ERX, only 30 minutes from me. I go there for the off road racing every year. Welcome, hope to see ya there.
I actually have a 2000 700 srx. Triple cylinder, triple pipes, triple carb sitting in my garage right now. Yes it runs and runs great. It's a great sled!
The problem with the TRA on the Mach Z was connected to needing a re- build. The fiber wear points had exceeded their maintenance life and like any clutch, was worn out. That would account for the inconsistent shifting performance and the sloppy shift in the clutch. through it's travel.

"Comparison is the theif of joy" well said Leo.👍
It's like old school sxs blog with Steve there. All we need now is a few battle dad appearances! The channel has rejuvenated i like it.
I can't believe you don't have 3M subs with the quality content y'all put out every week.
I’m glad you guys decided to do snowmobiles over winter it makes this channel that much more exciting to watch. 👍
Finally getting you guys to ERX ! Looking forward to watching the show.
The TRA blew up simply because it was due for a rebuild. The fiber bushings were worn out, causing the clutch to bind and wobble on its axis.
When properly maintained and set up, it's probably the best primary clutch out there.
Dude that’s a good deal ! Literally one runs is in great shape and the other one was thrown in on the deal and it runs so that’s a win in my book.

ERX is such an epic facility. You’ll have to return in the summer with the sxs’s.
Loving all the sled content you boys are killing it!! Would love to see some thundercat 1000 action.
That mach is only running on 2 cylinders. It sounds terrible. Running right it would put a whooping on that Yamaha.
Absolutely! I'm a t-cat guy that runs them sxr and mxz all the time, all very fast old sleds
Thundercat triple 1000s are beasts

Glad to see Steve on the channel.
Steve is going to be a great addition. Cool dude.

I used to have the same era Mach z. Love those sleds! They are screamers. Stoked to see one on the channel 😏👍🏻
