I was 9 months old in East Keansburg, New Jersey back then. There's Betty White in the Cool Whip commercial. At the time, Betty starred opposite Vicki Lawrence & Rue McClanahan in the NBC sitcom Mama's Family.
This is so cool. These aired exactly one month before my 10th birthday. I remember a lot of them too. Weird how the subconscious works. I miss the old local independent channels like WOR (channel 9). And I definitely miss The 4 o'clock Movie. Thanks for sharing!
Interesting Solo and Marcal aired ads back-to-back. Two months later the same brands advertised back-to-back on the Late Show presentation of Two Mules for Sister Sara on WCBS-TV.
Pathmark really loved to say they were #1 for much of the 1980s!
It's interesting how the slogan "Little Debbie has a snack for you" was their slogan before they said "America's number one snack cake" and "Unwrap a smile"...and then that old slogan returned.
"Don't sit back and wait for cable TV" - back when most of the Big Apple would wait another 5 years before they would get cable TV!
It's interesting Star magazine compared to People and the National Enquirer's prices of $1.25 and 65 cents, respectively, as opposed to Star magazine's price of 50 cents...and eventually they showed a People magazine ad.
I would prefer if you don't make multiple different comments at once on the same videos.
