Inbreeding vs In-and-In Breeding

It’s amazing the conversation that can take place at the dinner table. And, that is exactly what happened here. I was visiting with Frank Bradley and his family in Kentucky. After a great meal (ribeye’s) and a couple bottles of beer (Coors Light), Frank asked me some interesting questions on breeding. More specifically on the difference between inbreeding and in-and-in breeding, what’s better, the cock’s line or the hen’s line, and much more.

People need to learn how genetics and heredity work then learn the genes and traits and what they do what there modes of heredity and this will give them a ideal of how hard and time consuming it would be to do what they want then they need to set a standard and breed toward that standard using strict practice and keeping record pictures notes etc… but most should not worry about creating breeds if there not dedicated if they don’t have the passion and the drive the willingness to learn and continue learning and putting in the work over years and years not to mention the chances of this breed ever being accepted is probably pretty low and when you’ve got 20+ years into a breed and nobody know what they are then that’s probably gonna be like a slap in the face and why even are you making a new breed what is it that makes them special to other breeds that already are accepted and been made. I’m far from an expert but the odds definitely seem to be against you in this type of thing there’s so many factors at play and you must be willing to educate yourself be very dedicated and have a plan from the beginning and it might be all fore nothing
