OMG, I FINALLY FOUND HER!!! Good ole fiberglass and wood. Look at all that open space!! Heavy for her size but rides like an old Cadillac. Dude drove her to the Bahamas!!! One of these WILL be mine. Just under 14’. Putt put through the springs, inshore, lakes. Shallow draft. Look at that wood trim!! Just enough! Lil’ Bimini for shade and rain. Big ole deck to fish or let Maggie have space. I love it. I am finally done searching!
There’s a lot more to that skiff than meets the eye, thanks for explaining. Love the general use bow line that’s too short to foul the prop! Also, would love a outboard video. Gotta love the OMC smokers!

Love your channel. Would you say the Ouachita 16ft fiberglass boat with similar hull design has the same hull characteristics you enjoy as the Collin's 14ft?
Ya bro do the used motor vid , I like watching your videos I don’t know how you always find such good deals , I’m trying to find something to make a 14-to 16’ flatsboat out of , a 25 hp is plenty of push, as I’m old and on a fixed income and the price of even used boats has gone a bit crazy , so boat motor trailer rig is what I search for , I love fly fish’n so a front casting platform and small rear deck tiller drive is great I usually watch the net around to see what’s out there . Even thought about building one but didn’t want the hassle of trying to get it certified and all the registration headaches
Great man man bless you for this action I truly hope that someone in need wins this gift I know the most fun and memories I’ve made are with my kids on my 16 foot skiff . Skiff life is the best life . Your a good dude .

What is the beam of the Collins Craft? I have a Wenzel 14ft skiff that I want to convert to an open layout for flats fishing in the Florida Panhandle. Any thoughts to start off with?
Hi there, beam is 53” run rail to run rail and the interior beam is 48” hull side to hull side. ( basically waterline). And cool! Sounds like a neat project! Let me dig up some info on the Wenzel snd I’ll get back to you! In the meanwhile, have you checked out the Facebook group ? It would be a great place to share your project! Cheers!

The OMC 2 cyl 25 hp and 3 cyl 70 hp are legendary. They haven't changed much in 40 years because if it isn't broke, don't fix it mentality.Loyal motors for sure.
Looking at all the comments maybe I should just be happy with my 25 year old 15ft with 20hp Honda. Perhaps I'll paint her up during the winter and love it again
Wow this Skiff hull is nearly identical to my Garvey designed skiff which is also 14 ft length and powered by a short shaft 25hp Yamaha 2 stroke..The only difference is i have a tunnel hull transom and a casting deck with gunnel shelves...Yes mine also only draws 4inches of water.. Regards B.J.

If you're interested in testing taking water over the transom just go to the Stuart Causeway with a 20 mph Southeast wind and try using the boat ramp🤣🤣🤣🤣 you'll have 2 ft chop at the dock breaking into the back of the boat
would love a boat like that or any boat. always wanted one, but on disability can't afford one. now that health issues are building, might never have a boat.
Hi Kayri! I just actually replied to your email and everyone who has entered. A little overwhelming to say the least haha. On the bright side, I moved the deadline date sooner and mentioned in my reply some of the details. Thank you so much for sending your email! Cheers!
Well I live in Atlantic Beach or Carteret county Morehead City North Carolina 28557 is my ZIP code but my grandfather was a porch fishing boat captain from out of the Navy unfortunately before he passed away I didn't received the proper knowledge that I needed to do things of that resource. I have acquired a 1994 Carolina skiff 12 ft j12 but I fell in the wrong line of people to hang around with and they sold me a $500 boat and there's without the proper work that it needs pretty much impossible for me to get in the water. The person that I received this boat from had slid it across a flat deck and gala put gouge marks in the bottom of it now I do know how to work on small engines with my outboard engine is running this is 1977 but it's mine you know I can do those kind of things but it comes to fiberglass work I haven't got the hands on know-how to do what I need to do and I don't want to go cut into so if that boats for sale I'm pretty like to have it just for something to do and get out there and try to have an option to do something that might pay me back
Ahhh! Thank you for the mini lesson! I knew there was a Native American connection I just didn’t look into it! To think for years I’ve been pronouncing it wrong. 🙈 Cheers !

Awesome Keith! Well I got you covered soon buddy! Stay tuned!

Cheers!
@@diywaterworld Thank you for the reply and yes I jumped in with the Facebook book group. Sounds like great place to meet like minded folks and to share info and ideas
yes do the video on finding a motor it would be great
The OMC 2 cyl 25 hp and 3 cyl 70 hp are legendary. They haven't changed much in 40 years because if it isn't broke, don't fix it mentality.Loyal motors for sure.
Man I love this channel
Thought I saw you in High springs yesterday. Must’ve been you twin
Wow! This is incredible!
Yes, a video on how to find a outboard similar to one in video
It’s coming buddy! A TON of info and tips! Cheers!
Cool boat
Thank you Shawn! I appreciate it!
Looking at all the comments maybe I should just be happy with my 25 year old 15ft with 20hp Honda. Perhaps I'll paint her up during the winter and love it again
That boat came from Georgia - nice GON sticker on there!
Good eye Chip! Georgia Outdoor Network for the win! 😎
Awesome!
Make that video please for finding a good small outboard
Right on Cody! I've got you covered! And i think you're going to like it, i've been pluggin away at it and it's definitely the most detailed video i've worked on so far! Cheers!
I would love to hear about the best value used motors!
I know this wasn't part of your video but you mentioned older Johnson evinrudes and thought I would ask. Ive got a j55rslc(90s model) with a kind of jet drive (durajet)for the foot. Trying to find a regular prop gear box. anybody have ideas?

These original hulls you referenced were not Quachita (Cacheeta), they are Ouachita (owachitah).
Has a whaler style hull
Do the motor video for sure!

@@diywaterworld yeah man sure, well be glad to have u here, awesome vibes and again congrats 👏
Walk us through the freshwater used outboard
Sweet flat
i need that boat bad
If you're interested in testing taking water over the transom just go to the Stuart Causeway with a 20 mph Southeast wind and try using the boat ramp🤣🤣🤣🤣 you'll have 2 ft chop at the dock breaking into the back of the boat
would love a boat like that or any boat. always wanted one, but on disability can't afford one. now that health issues are building, might never have a boat.
Good afternoon please let us know. If you were affected by the hurricane.
🙌
Yewwwww! Cheers buddy!

Hi Kayri! I just actually replied to your email and everyone who has entered. A little overwhelming to say the least haha. On the bright side, I moved the deadline date sooner and mentioned in my reply some of the details. Thank you so much for sending your email! Cheers!

I wanna go with you 😅
Haha, thank you Stephanie ! These trips are definitely quite the adventure!!! Cheers!
Soooo… who won? And when is the next giveaway?
Well I live in Atlantic Beach or Carteret county Morehead City North Carolina 28557 is my ZIP code but my grandfather was a porch fishing boat captain from out of the Navy unfortunately before he passed away I didn't received the proper knowledge that I needed to do things of that resource. I have acquired a 1994 Carolina skiff 12 ft j12 but I fell in the wrong line of people to hang around with and they sold me a $500 boat and there's without the proper work that it needs pretty much impossible for me to get in the water. The person that I received this boat from had slid it across a flat deck and gala put gouge marks in the bottom of it now I do know how to work on small engines with my outboard engine is running this is 1977 but it's mine you know I can do those kind of things but it comes to fiberglass work I haven't got the hands on know-how to do what I need to do and I don't want to go cut into so if that boats for sale I'm pretty like to have it just for something to do and get out there and try to have an option to do something that might pay me back
Ouachita is pronounced washita. The Ouachitas are a mountain range in Arkansas and the Ouachitas were also a Caddoan Indian tribe.
Ahhh! Thank you for the mini lesson! I knew there was a Native American connection I just didn’t look into it! To think for years I’ve been pronouncing it wrong. 🙈 Cheers !
💯
👊🏼thank you !
