I'm wondering if this is a Marantz processor issue or the Amplifier. I bought a new speakers because I thought at first is my 20 year old speakers is the problem.but after setting up the new speakers it's still doing that loud thump . It will play normal for few minutes but when the heavy bass is about to hit the loud thump sound will happen. I disconnected all the cables and reset the AV processor and reconnected everything and still happening. I buying the AVM70 because it's on sale right now but after I watched the reviews and read comments on AV forum I'm scared to do it because of several issues encountered by people who owned it. How's your AVM 70 doing so far ? Please let me know if it 's worthed to get this gear. Thank you in in advance .
@edwinabuel324 hey Edwin, sorry about the issues you’re having with your marantz. Sounds like a circuit short issue. A possible overload. Maybe changing your power cord or plug to a different outlet or using a power conditioner could help. As far as my AVM 70, I have had zero issues with it. It works just as good as day one for me. Hope that helps. Hope you find a good solution. Thanks for the question and for watching.
The DAC in the Marantz 7702MKII has a Texas Instruments PCM 1690 24bit/192khz DAC that's ok for its time, but cant compare to the AKM and ESS DACs. Marantz 7705 & 7706, also the Anthem MRX 540, 740, & 1140 has a AKM AK4458 DACs and the Marantz 8805 and Anthem AVM 70 has a AKM AK4490, so it's a better DAC, in which will produce better sound quality. Now the one I tryna get is the Anthem AVM 90, I know it's more pricey, but I will have this for the next 5yrs. The DAC in that has a AKM AK4499 and it suppose to be the best of the AKM DACs. So Anthem for me at least is the way to go, if you can afford it. Great video.
Thanks. I purposely didn’t upgrade my Marantz for a while because I had been planning on a major upgrade at sometime. @@AudiolympianThanks! I'm using the Oppo 205 in my system. I'd love to use it's dac at times and use the AVM as a volume control with some tone control.
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 I have the 203. That’s my plan when I have some time to do it. I have a feeling the 7.1 output will sound better than the hdmi. 🤷🏽♂️
I don't like the design of the Anthem. Looks too basic/Chinese like square. Marantz has some architecture to it. However sound wins. Anthem is on order for me. Or back-order i should say
I agree it’s quite plain looking. Denon just had some new receivers come out not too long ago that looked amazing. Yep sound wins. Thanks for watching
@@Audiolympian Tried the 3700h. It was ok and decent sound, had the volume at 70%. Returned for the 4700h. Sounded even better but Bluetooth did not work right. Exchanged for another, same problem. Hopefully the Anthem will work out, if i can get one. Crutchfield has no eta on them
@@brownstone43 that sucks man. My avm 70 had been great. I was pretty lucky to get mine so soon. Hopefully not much longer for you. Thanks for watching
@@scotttild funny you say that I just had a friend of mine had his Denon receiver go out on him earlier today. I like my anthem. Thanks for watching and commenting
