I like to think that racquets have a certain DNA. The Ezone 98 is a power racquet in its nature-stiff, thick beamed, aerodynamic beam. But it is a *controlled* power frame. The TFight 305 is a control frame, but a powerful one because its weight distribution makes it an absolute hammer. I tend to prefer powerful control racquets rather than controlled power racquets because I grew up playing with control racquets before I knew anything about gear, so they feel more familiar and a better fit for how I know how to play.
I have used the Ezone for the last two years. Great frame but you are right about the power and it is easy to hit long at times. I have just changed to the Percept 100 and am loving it. So much more control and feel and decent level of spin. It was an easy transition as the specs are quite similar. Really cant see me going back to my Ezone as the Percept seems to suit me better.
My guy, as an avid lover of Gravity Pro I think you might appreciate the Gravity MP XL -- it is amazing. You need to demo and do a review on it. It feels much longer than it is, gives some free power and serve feels like a cheat code. Game changer.
I demoed it two weeks ago and yeah, serves were insane. Like, the best I’ve ever done and consistent. I thought maybe I was just in a groove and went to the other two demo racquets and then my normal one and it wasn’t near the same. I picked the MP XL back up and instantly was back to bombing serves. Ultimately, I didn’t like the rest the racquet had to offer but serves were incredible. So much so that I’m demoing other extended frames to see if it had the same effect. I’m just waiting on the Solinco ones to not be back ordered so they will ship.
I used 90 sq/in rackets through high school and college and 9 years ago I moved up to a 95 sq/in Pro Staff (95S) and it is 16/15 string pattern and it gives me massive topspin. I don’t think head size has much to do with spin. Also, if you ever get the chance to hold a 100 racket up next to a 95 racket please let me know where the 5 extra sq/in’s are. The 100 was maybe half a centimeter wider than mine. When I hear people saying there is a big difference between the 98 and 100 I just shake my head.
I've been playing tennis for 2 years with a second-hand Yonex E-Zone 100. Today, I learned my strings lost tension, which explains the lack of power in my shots. After trying my coach's racquet(head radical 98 sq inch), I was blown away by the improvement and now feel like I want a frame with a smaller head.
It is hilarious how often the internet viewer gets into the right or wrong side of a viewpoint. I think it would be a more fun discussion to say agree or disagree with the viewpoint. I loved your balanced racquet list. Currently using the speed pro and enjoy the blend of control/power it gives me. Out of all the Head pro/tour frames in the line up, the speed pro sits in the most user friendly on that list. Please agree or disagree with me on the viewpoints. 😅
I’m using TecniFibre T-Fight 305 😁. I got it when it first came out and also had the older version. You deff get the best of both worlds with power and control! Plus I love Daniil! 🙌🏼 Haha. I’m completely on the same boat with Pure Strike! Haha. I’ve tried the older versions and wow I don’t even want to touch one again! Feels like you’re hitting with a modern wooden racket lol like waving a stick and so powerless.
How the racket is strung is also extremely important. Any racket can be improved or worsened by how it is strung and depends on how the player strokes the ball.
How do you compare the Pure Aero 98 with the predecesor Pure Aero VS? Which one do you like more and which one is a better racquet in your oppinion? What are the differences or are very similar? Thanks!
I came from a blade 98 v8 and it absolutely does not deserve to make it to the list it does nothing well but control and feel. Swapped to the ezone 98 start of this year and it is much more balanced.
Yeah, putting super rigid rackets in 1st and 2nd position is clearly for everybody. Many ppl can't adapt to a rigid racket their whole life-time so clearly it does the trick. ;)
Its not rigid, in reality babolat( profilate) use to much the string and u have trampoline effect, wilson rahcetts are rigid (classic) beacause frame flex a little and u have to do a lot of fatigue
@@GorryX3 I currently own Babolat raquets and 69RA or more is rigid no matter what tech is involved. Compare that to a Yonex Percept 97D at 62RA and it is clearly waay more stiff. Don't get me wrong , I like the power of Babolat raquets but then again: it's not for everyone, even though it might look attractive with flashy colours etc.
Amazing video!! Could you please say something about the difference between Ezone 98 and Pure Strike 100 16*20. Which one feels better? Thank you so much!!
hey, quick question, why the pure strike (310gr)is more control oriented and pure aero (315gr)to power? Im a newbie and want to find the best racket for me!
thanks fot the video. Do you know anything about the TFight 295 ? I havent seen much about it and Im thinking in buying it for my 1,65 cm tall intermediate girlfriend. I am not sure if the heavy swingweight would be a problem or not...
When are you going to hit again with Daniil? Those videos are awesome! Did you ask him if it was like hitting with Rublev or Zverev because of the Gravity? 😂 Do you think you could beat Karue Sell? This would be a very intriguing matchup! 🤞
Funnily enough a brand new PA98 arrived last week😅. Still not decided what I will string it up with. Yonex PolyTourPro Yellow, Head Lynx Tour Orange or Babolat RPM Rough Yellow is the hot contenders. Razor Soft is not an option, that string does not work for me at all, but I can see why it works for you with the heavy flat shots swinging full speed.
I'd either go for the poly or the rpm. Though again that's my opinion and it might not suit you considering you didn't really like the razor soft. As it was up to me... I'd string it with that
I have the Technifiber T fight 305 with a Hyper G soft strings. But I have less power on the shots. I want a racquet for power. My options are yonex ezone 100 / head Radical / head extreme. Can you suggest if these are power racquet???
Hello, I have a question about choosing a racket. My weakness is that I cant hit top sping and use mostly flat shots. In that case, should I use spin/power oriented racket to balance weakness or stick to the racket which is comfortable for flat hitting?
It depends on the line. The Speed MP is 300g and 16x19 but the Speed Pro is 310g and 18x20. The Radical MP is 300g and 16x19 but the Radical Pro is 315g and 16x19. Gravity MP is 295g and 16x20 but Gravity Pro is 315g and 18x20. It just varies line to line honestly.
Grisha can you help me? I have a very vertical swing, and the aerodynamics of gravities and baldes are not for me cause I cant hit through the ball That being Said, Im Very tall and heavy, and the rackets that suit my swing usually give me too much Power. I have my eyes on the strike 100 16x20, I know It hás the Control I need, but do you think It swings well vertically, like aeros and extremes?

Yeah Speed Pro is A- all-around. Great control and enough spin, very good stability and plow
The Blade 98 has become more versatile in recent versions. Maybe a tad bit more on the control side. What do you think? - Munish, TW
Totally agree! In fact I like the most recent v9 most. I was very close to putting it on this list. Should've made it a top 10 😂😂

Dont do it, chose a 100 square racket, u have to buy the easyest racket, and after you become strong a small racket
Ezone 98 is controlled power, once you dial the sweet spot ... most versatile weapon
is the vcore 98 not better?
@@elloburger vcore is much more powerful and spin racket. Ezone can give you these benefits with good control as well

Which strings and what tensions were you using for the ezone 98 and pure aero 98?
If I have to judge from what I saw in your video, I think you play much cooler with racket #5.
when i saw the rackets in the plastic bag i knew from the start that the first reacket was the babolat aero and the second one is the babolat srtike
I'm hesitating between the head speed and the ezone, and im more of a power oriented player, which one would you recommend ?
Hey Grisha. Have you tried the new pure strike 98 16x19. Since you didn’t like the previous one has anything changed
I think it’s really nice very like video shooting in this mundo mundial . ❤️
