I bought a touring version of this beast, a 2007 US-imported C90T. It's not a bad bike by any means - it keeps the old-school looks and delivers very decent performance in return. The only issue I have had was the charging system, where the OEM stator burned out after one and half seasons - I replaced it for a better, aftermarket version and did the same with the regulator/rectifier unit - and all is well since. Still, all in all, it cost me less than half the price of similar brand new Indian or HD (either with no accessories a/o rear seat), the visual appeal of either of which didn't come even close to this beast. The pros are the classical looks, the very robust build and its size, both of which provide a very fine level of comfort for two fully packed people, and the power it puts out is fully sufficient for all types of longer rides (both leisure cruise on countryside roads and eating up highways). The cons are the non-standard construction itself (aka the location of some of the components, when compared to other bikes), its OEM charging system (a true weak point) and the weight of the bike, which makes it not-so-good for daily commuting or winding through city traffic. LbnL that "sound experience" is pure bullshit, sorry. Louder doesn't mean better or more cool and contrary to one popular saying it doesn't save lives. Most of the time it only irritates all around and "surprise surprise" it is quite bothering to the rider and passenger as well, especially on longer rides. Stock exhausts sound the way they do for (more than one) reason, believe me.
I have a carburated one from 2004. From 2003 onwards they were available with 2 front discs and upgraded brakes. Also mine as a custom exhaust from a Slovak manufacturer and it sound like hell so if you get one try to get the older ones if you want a better custom sound. The fuel injection ones spend less fuel but lose a bit the essence of those bikes in my opinion.
I'm just buying a 2004 vl model , so I should check the fuel tank for cracks ,is that right , Is the tank cheeks next to the airfilter not really a tank, what's inside it , nothing .?? 😮
Just got a 1999 model a week ago and I love it! Its like sailing a highway ferry. Big, noisy and powerful. Everything a cruiser should be!

I have an 01 intruder 1500. Do you know of any kits to upgrade to the 2 discs brake. I only have one and feels very dull too stop.
I have a 2000 that's carbed and has dual disc in front and disc in back
Most cruisers don't want louder pipes
