This is gorgeous Liesl! Ive never seen wild iris . Such a beautiful field you showed. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful tutorial. You're amazing!
These iris are one of the things I look forward to the very most when spring is on its way, so much fun! I appreciate you so much taking the time to watch and comment today Madonna. Have a lovely evening! 😊💕
I keep coming back to this one from time to time, I don't think I'd ever have been able to draw and paint this without your excellent teaching.... so thankful for you, and the pleasurable sound of the background music and your kind voice , thanks again Liesl.
Aw Karen! 🥰 Thank you so much for your kindness! It just makes my day to hear that this tutorial has helped or inspired you even a little. 💕 (This is one of my personal favorite paintings too 😉) I hope you know how much I appreciate you!! Have a lovely week Karen.
Love these purple irises! 💜 I always enjoy your tutorials. It's always a peaceful time. Also, thank you so much for the helpful outline. It's time to get out my paint and get my brushes to paper. Happy painting, everyone!
Aw! 🥰 You’re so sweet! Thank you for your continued support, I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. I’m so happy you enjoyed this tutorial and I hope your painting turns out well! Have a lovely day! 😊
Liesl, you have encouraged this beginner so much...using your reference drawing for this wild Iris has helped me immensely. Your techniques are truly remarkable. I will continue now, after finishing this piece with such peace, thank you.
It’s been such a joy hearing from you lately Tracy. ❤️ This wild Iris is one of my particular favorites I’ve ever painted, so I am thrilled that you gave it a try! I hope you enjoyed the process. 🥰 Take care my friend.
Hello Liesl, I have not watch you paint for a while. You are a beautiful artist and love your Delicate Iris! You are so generous with all the details and information that you share. I will try to get the drawing of the Iris and give it a try. Thank you ❤ Helene
Helene, it’s so good to hear from you again! I’m so happy that you liked this painting and tutorial. I hope you will be pleased with how your painting turns out. 🥰 Have a lovely day!
Beautiful as usual. It's a joy to watch the painting come to fruition. Also love the choice of music. It's almost midnight here so I will have a go at the painting tomorrow. Thank you
Thank you Liesl, just like the previous lady GaylePage1 I agree that your narration and calming music adds to the joy of watching your tutorial. I really appreciate you and want to say again how glad I am I came across you some time ago now.
Karen, you are so kind! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, you have just made my day. 🥰 Your support and thoughtfulness means more to me than you know. I hope you have a wonderful day! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. 💕
So beautiful, your tutorials are amazing. I have a lot of catching up to do. I don’t know what it’s like where you live but over here it takes 6 week after you sell your home and then another 6 weeks after you purchase a new home. I can’t wait to be settled again and start painting. ❤
Oh my, quite the process it sounds like! I’m sure you’re SO anxious to get settled again! (I know I would be…) I appreciate you watching even though you can’t paint along yet, hopefully you’ll be able to paint again soon. 🥰 Take care Colleen.
fyi, I attended a group watercolour class in Ontario Canada, and was directed to your channel by a watercolour friend I made at the table. I am very grateful she sent me to you!
Oh wow! You have just made my day… I am such a little fish in such a big pond, it really means a lot to me to know that you and others are enjoying what I have to offer. Thank you so much for letting me know! ❤️
Liesl, I painted this this evening. I can see why this is a favorite of yours...it is gorgeous! Your explanations on each step were easy to follow and the result is spectacular! I painted this one for my sister and I know she will love it as the Iris is a particular favorite of hers. Thank you for making the outline available. It really helps and makes this project so much fun to paint. I have another painting I want to try from a photo of the Japanese Garden at our local Botanical Gardens. Wild Iris is in the forground on that photo and these techniques will help me have more confidence in trying that painting. Thanks for all you do!
I’m so happy that you tried this one Laurie! Even though I painted this so long ago, it is still one of my very favorites. 🥰 I think your sister will love it, what a thoughtful and kind thing for you to do for her. ❤️ I hope you’ll paint your botanical garden photo soon too, it sounds like it will be lovely. Botanical gardens are where I have gotten some of my best flower references from, I love visiting them when I can. 😉 I hope you have a lovely week. Take care!
@@lieslsartisticstudio Hi Liesl, question for you..wondering if you sell any of your sheet music? I also play piano (very poorly, but I enjoy it)..and I would love to learn any one of your beautiful compositions.
I am so flattered that you like my music enough to want to learn it yourself. ❤️ At the moment my compositions are just chicken scratch written with paper and pencil… but I hope to get it more professionally typed up in the future if I can find some free time! I really appreciate your interest, it will help motivate me to actually do it! 😉
Thank you so much for your support Tracy! 🥰 I hope you find the outlines to be helpful with your artwork and that you are able to create some pieces you are proud of. Take care my friend, and happy painting!
Gorgeous Lisel! I agree that the wild irises have their own beauty. And I really enjoyed hearing the birds singing at the beginning of the video! Thanks! 😊 Is your Hookers green an M Graham color? My WN Hookers green is much brighter. And as always, thanks for the free sketch and another wonderful tutorial! You’re the best! 💕
Hi Laina! Thanks so much for your fun comment today. I always enjoy hearing from you. 🥰 Yes, the Hookers Green is M Graham Brand, however it probably won’t hurt the look of the painting if yours is brighter. You could even try adding a little black and see if that brings the color down more…🤷♀️ Happy Painting Laina. Until next week!
I love these iris's and really enjoyed painting them. Thank you very much for your fresh approach. It has reinvigorated me when I was feeling a bit stuck with my watercolour journey. Your narration is calming too. Looking forward to trying more of your lessons. I never realised how long it would take. I have been going along painting for a few hours daily for the last 18 months and I am still very much a novice. How long did it take you to feel good and confident about your work?
Aw Gayle, you are so sweet! 🥰 I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed this tutorial and have not given up on watercolors yet! I TOTALLY understand the struggle, and the time it takes to get good at this because believe it or not, when I first started I was TERRIBLE at it! It's taken me many many years of practice and patience with myself to get where I am today! So I truly feel that you can do it too! In fact, I think that if you go back and take a look at a painting you created 18 months ago and compare it to something you've done now, you will see a difference and growth in your work. 😊If you'd like to hear more about my watercolor journey I talk more about it in this video that I will leave a link to below. (Go to about the 4 minute mark). Thanks so much for taking the time to watch, comment, and paint! Happy painting my friend. th-cam.com/video/6GzHZl-ci4s/w-d-xo.html
No, it’s not completely dry, it’s also not sopping wet either. If it is just slightly wet still, or damp even, the colors will just barely mix into each other right where they meet without overtaking the other color. Great question!
Yes, it is Free right now for 2 days only, so you are just in time to get it free.😊 Then after the 2 days it is available for purchase. If you click on the description of the video there is a Google doc link you can click on and it will be available for downloading.
