Unfortunately, I was not able to edit out the music playing at the start of my intro or the random music pop-ups in the middle of my speech. The audio/video came from the NFHS livestream VOD. (Turn on Closed Captions CC for some guidance, and if people find the subtitles to be helpful, I might try and transcribe the entire speech!) Enjoy nonetheless!
usually it's off the head, but i review my examples, and get examples from videos, and articles i read or watch. You usally get 7 minutes and 1-2 minutes of prep time. It's mostly personal preference though.
If you read about or hear about any interesting person on social media or in the news or anywhere, write their name down and then do some research about them. Then, try and craft an engaging and impactful 45 sec story about them which you can then analyze to fit your quotation. Hope that helps and lmk if you have any other questions!
Hi Layla, unfortunately, the original live stream is behind a paywall, but the entire VOD of the 2022 IHSA Speech State Finals might be uploaded onto the TH-cam channel IHSA Archives sometime in the future. As for specific videos, it all depends on whether the speaker who won has access to the VOD and is willing to upload their own speech onto TH-cam individually. Hope that helps!

Did you come up with these three examples off the top of your head, or did you have a bit of time to research prior? Regardless that was impressive.

That was just as good as some of the national finalists I watched in Des Moines this past year. Fantastic work!
